Swim Lessons

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Around 6:30, Evan came into our room. I didn't, however, get up to get him breakfast until 7 or 7:15. He watched TV in the gameroom. Sometime after 8, Noah woke up and was calling for us. We just sent Evan in there. He and Noah went downstairs and played for awhile downstairs. We could hear Noah talking so much and so loudly we were ok with it.

Today was the first day of swim lessons at Lifetime Fitness for the boys. Noah was first, at 11:55. I took Evan to the outside pool while Rachel was with Noah at the swim lesson. There was one other kid in his class. Apparently he wouldn't do anything that the instructor was telling him. At the beginning he just cried and held on to Rachel. Even after he stopped crying he continued to hold onto Rachel.

Meanwhile, they were having a "pool party" for Memorial Day weekend out at the pool. They had a blow up water slide, games, face painting, etc... Evan just wanted to go down the blow up water slide over and over. He loved it. At 12:30, I took him in for his lesson. He was the only kid in his class so it was a private lesson. He always looks so serious when he does this type of thing but when he finished he just talked about how much fun he had and how he learned how to swim. He told me he "walked like an astronaut". I'm wondering if that's what they told him it was when he was treading water. He seemed to do very well.

After the gym, we came home and made lunch. Following lunch we put Noah down for a nap.

At the end of Noah's nap, we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do tonight. Rachel had heard there was a restaurant out of Austin a bit that had a big open field for the kids to play on while you ate. We also heard that it gets crowded quickly. So we got everything together and drove out there. We got there at 6pm and it's a good thing we did because it filled up fast. We sat on the patio and the boys ran around kicking soccer balls, throwing footballs, throwing Frisbees. Noah just did whatever Evan did. He was Evan's shadow. It was very cute. The restaurant is called Verde's Mexican Parilla.

We stopped on the way home at Yogurt Planet. The boys really enjoyed that.

They are in bed now although Evan is being very loud upstairs.

Until next time...
