Shmevan at Newflower

This morning the boys got up super early. Both were up when Morry left the house before 7am.

Later in the morning we went to Newflower. Evan was really acting out there. They have a car cart there and the boys climbed in. It just happened that Noah got the side with the steering wheel. Evan was really upset and starting fighting with Noah. He wasn’t listening to me and didn’t want to wait for his turn. Evan was being so bad, I had to pull him out of the cart. Then he started screaming and kicking things the rest of our shopping trip. I had to hurry up and only get the things I absolutely needed for tonight. It was really embarrassing.

When we got home the boys played outside while I got lunch and dinner started. For lunch I made applesauce (recipe from cooking class). Neither boy ate it. Evan wouldn’t even try it. I put together some other things for them for lunch and Evan hardly ate anything. I also made carrots and beets salad (cooking class recipe) and stuffed peppers for dinner. I made extra peppers so that we could freeze them and have them later. I spent most of the afternoon in the kitchen. The only time I sat down was for just a few minutes to quickly eat lunch.

Noah didn’t nap.

Gabby came at 3:45.

I tutored and got home around 7pm.

We ate dinner and then put the boys to bed.

Freezing

So, this morning it was in the 60s when I dropped of Evan, and when I went to pick him up from school a few hours later it was already in the 40s. Now, at almost 9pm it’s 32 degrees outside.

Yenis told me when she brought Kevin in the classroom this morning Evan ran up to them and said he was a firefighter. He had a hat on and was pretending to be a firefighter. When I picked Evan up he was a doctor. He came up to me with a thermometer and wanted to check my ear.

While Evan was at school Noah took a short morning nap and cleaned upstairs. We ate lunch and that was pretty much the end of the morning. Then, it was time to pick up Evan.

Blanca came at 3:00. I was supposed to tutor until 7:30 tonight, but ended up just going until 6:30. One of my students didn’t have homework and therefore, didn’t need my help. That was good since I was worried about driving home in bad weather. I wanted to get home before it got below freezing.

For dinner we had pasta and green beans. Evan didn’t eat much for dinner. All he ate was 2 cups of applesauce. Noah ate well though. He had cereal mixed with applesauce, baby food veggies, regular veggies, hot dog, a little bit of pasta, and cheese.

They are saying we may get some sleet and ice tonight. We’ll see what happens.

Tutoring, Birthday party, and Football

This morning the boys woke up around 9:00. I tutored from 10-12. This coming week is the last week of school before the holidays. The students have finals and tests this week and some needed extra help.

When I got home we make lunch. Morry made fried matzoh and I had an egg salad sandwich. Evan ate some leftover pasta and Noah ate his usual cereal. Noah got real cranky and fell asleep in his high chair. We moved him to his crib after lunch.

Allen, a kid in Evan’s class, had his birthday party today. It started at 3:00. Usually Evan naps around 2-4. We were trying to decide whether to put him down for an early nap or just skip nap altogether. By the time we finished lunch it was 1:30. I would have had to wake him up at 3:00. Sometimes when you wake Evan up from a nap he’s so cranky it’s almost better if he didn’t fall asleep in the first place. We decided to skip Evan’s nap.

Evan had a good time at Allen’s party. The weather was very nice and most of the party was outside. Evan played in the sand box. He played soccer and football and played on the playscape. When it was time for cake all the kids, including Evan, sat very nicely at the kid’s table. Evan chose the white cake over chocolate. He ate his whole piece and had some of my icing I left on my plate.

We came home and Morry and Noah were watching the Steelers game upstairs. Evan and I played outside in the backyard for a while Morry watched football.

For dinner we made grilled chicken and couscous. Evan ate the couscous and a ton of applesauce, but not much else.

Evan and Noah are in bed now. It sounds like Noah is asleep, but Evan is still up.
