ZDT's

This morning Noah and I got to his friend's Ben's house around 10am.  He was invited to go to ZDT's (a small amusement park in Seguin) for Ben's birthday party.  Noah wanted me to come too.  There were six kids that came along with some adults.  We went in two cars to Seguin, about an hour away.

The kids had a good time.  It was good that there were a few adults there as the kids wanted to do different things and not necessary stick with the group.  Noah liked the water slides best.

We left around 3 pm and stopped at Sweet Carolines on the way home.

Noah stayed at Ben's house for a little while and I went home.  Later, Ben's mom dropped Noah off at home.

For dinner we had hamburgers.

After dinner, we took a short walk.

This evening we spent a lot of time finishing packing the kids for camp.

Now Evan and Noah are in bed.

Whole Foods Lunch

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The boys slept in later this morning, than they had in a while.  Neither boy was up before 8.  I'm glad they got some extra sleep.

I had a haircut appointment around mid-morning.  I stopped at Smoothie King on the way home.

Before I got home, Rachel took the boys to Whole Foods for a Pink Ribbon Cowgirls lunch.  She got there early to get food for her and the boys and get settled.

Deborah came back with Rachel to the house.  She did some work on Lizzy's muscles and joints in exchange for some help from Rachel on her site.

While Rachel and Deborah were doing that, the boys went to the school by themselves to finish their movie.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.

For dinner, we picked up Grandma, and then picked up Rachel's cousin, Barry, who is in town for a conference.  We went to Lucky Robot for dinner.  I liked my food, and I think the boys liked their food.  Rachel was less than impressed.

We're home and the boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Nothing Today

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We didn't have any commitments today.  Neither boy had camp.  Neither boy had any friend commitment or sports commitment.   Because of that we didn't have to get up early.

I worked all morning.  I did have two phone meetings.  For some of the time, Evan sat at my desk with me and he worked on his computer.

We had lunch at home.  Then Rachel took the boys out to get books for camp next week.  They went to Half Price Books.

Later in the afternoon, the boys walked by themselves to Clayton to play and make a new movie.

After they got back, we took the boys to get haircuts.  Then we came home and had dinner.

We walked to Grandma and Papa's after dinner to bring a parking pass for Papa.  Lizzy walked with us.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Lizzy's Birthday

This morning we slept in.

Later in the morning, Evan's friends Josh and Wade came over.

We had been planning on taking Lizzy to the dog park over the weekend and decided to go today.  On the way there we remembered today is Lizzy's 14th birthday.  What a great way to celebrate!

We went to the Red Bud Isle dog park that is on the lake.  Lizzy had a good time. She was more timid than usual, but she still was able to swim some.

On the way home, we stopped and got Slurpee's.

Wade and Josh were picked up around 4pm.

Noah was invited to Jude's house and was there from about 5-7.

At 5:30 Evan was picked up by Reid's family.  They were going to to a pool party and then Evan would spend the night with them.

We picked up Noah and then ate dinner at Lupe Tortilla.

Now Noah is in bed.

Here are some pictures from today.

Noah's Performance

This morning Morry dropped off Noah at camp.

Later in the morning Morry took Evan to a baseball lesson.

Then, I met them at Wholy Bagel for lunch.

Evan went with me after to do some shopping for items they kids needed for camp.

At 4:00 we went to Noah's drama camp performance.  Each group did a little play.  Noah's group did a short version of Alice in Wonderland.  Noah was one of the narrators and memorized his script.  He did well.  He was loud enough for us to hear him clearly.

For dinner, we ate leftover chicken at home.

Then, we went to the food trailer night to get the kids dessert. They had shaved ice.

From there we went to HEB.

Now the kids should be getting ready for bed.

Here are some pictures from today.

Camp, Camp, Camp, and Camp

We all went to camp today.

This morning Morry dropped off Noah at camp and then went to Camp Gladitor.

I stayed home since Evan was getting picked up for the middle school camp at 8:30.

At 10am I had a meeting at the Honda Dealer about possibly doing some social media for them.

Evan got home a little after 12.

Later in the afternoon Morry and Evan went to the baseball fields.

I picked up Noah from camp.  Then, I went to an evening class of Camp Gladiator.

When I got home we started making dinner.

We had grilled chicken and salad for dinner.

Soon, the kids will get ready for bed.

More Camp

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Noah had his third day of acting camp.  He seemed excited to go.  I dropped him off and he was completely fine.

Evan got picked up for his second day of transition camp a bit later in the morning.

Rachel left to go to the dentist.  I left shortly after to go into Aaron's.  He wasn't there, but I needed to do something on a computer in the office.

Rachel picked Noah up from camp.  He said he had a good time.

Evan was invited to go meet up with a different baseball organization.  We told them that Evan was going to stay at TRPD, but they still invited Evan to practice with them anyway.  Evan was ok with it because I think he was having a bit of baseball withdrawal.  He seemed to have a good time.  He said, and I expected this (especially since we've already committed to TRPD), he still liked TRPD better.  It's good to see how other organizations are run though.

When we got home, Rachel and I had dinner.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Busy Day + Lizzy Check Up

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, I drove Noah to drama camp.  He seemed excited to go.

Evan got picked up a little while later to go to Transition Camp at the middle school he'll be going to in the fall - Gorzycki Middle School (pronounced GO-risky).  He and three of his buddies all rode together.

Rachel and I then took Lizzy to get a check up with the vet.  The vet could not believe the improvement that Lizzy has made.  I got the impression that, perhaps she was skeptical of Lizzy having a stroke last week.  She said strokes are less common in dogs.  She felt it was probably a tumor.  But given how Lizzy has recovered, she now thinks the stroke is a distinct possibility.  She said she'd love to get an MRI just to take a look, but it's $2000 and it's hard to justify the expense.

Evan got dropped off around noon.  We had lunch and then Rachel brought Evan over to Wade's house.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.

I picked Noah up from camp.  He had another good day.  We got home in time to be there for when Evan got dropped off by Wade's mom.

When Rachel got home, we walked Evan over to Grandma and Papa's.  He was having dinner with them.

Evan, Noah, Rachel and I had tacos.

After dinner, we walked to get Evan.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Drama Camp and Camp Gladiator

This morning we dropped Noah off at drama camp and then went to Camp Gladiator.  Evan came with us and participated in the workout.  He did well.

Morry had some meetings today.

Evan and I stayed at home.

Morry and I picked up Noah at 5pm.  He said he had a good time, but didn't want to talk about it.

For dinner, we had leftover pizza and pasta.

We took Lizzy on a short walk after dinner.

Waco and Improved Lizzy

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

On Friday, Grandmom left to go home.  In the late afternoon, Evan and Noah went out with Grandma and Papa.  They went to the synagogue for a service.  They were actually able to bring their own food so they picked up Subway.

Friday night, they stayed at Grandma and Papa's and then all four drove to Waco.  In Waco, they went to the Waco Mammoth National Monument where 16 Columbian mammoths were found.  From there, they went to the Dr. Pepper Museum.  Evan said the Dr. Pepper he got there was the "best ever".  Then they walked over to Magnolia Silos and played in the field and got shaved ice.

Today, they had brunch at the hotel and then went to the Waco Zoo.

Rachel and I stayed home.  We went out for dinner both days.  Yesterday, we walked around Lady Bird Lake and stopped at Cafe Ruckus for a lite lunch.  This morning, we took Lizzy for a very short walk.  Then we went on a walk, followed by lunch at Wholy Bagel.  On our way home, we stopped at Costco.

For dinner, we went out to Cuba 512 for dinner with Grandma and Papa.

Lizzy has improved each day.  Last night, she was able to walk upstairs on her own for the first time.  Today, she not only walked up the stairs, but she came downstairs too.  She has been going out in the backyard on her own.  Also yesterday, she barked for the first time (and only time) since this all started when she wanted to come in.  Rachel gave her a bath today and I had to help get her up from the bath.  She also didn't completely shake so she was wetter than normal.  It caused her to shiver, so we covered her in warm towels to keep warm her up.  She's not 100%, and I'm not sure she'll ever get back to be 100%, but she's not in pain, and she seems happy to be home and with us, her boys, and her cats.  The cats have been really good with her.  Calvin will go over and lick her.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Last Day of School

This morning we drove to school since we had Evan's graduation. Before the ceremony, the 5th graders walk the hallways of the school giving high fives and hugs to past teachers and current students.  During the ceremony, each student was called up and the teacher announced their name, what college they want to attend, and what they want to be when they grow up.  Evan said he wants to go to Villanova and be a baseball player.  Surprised?

After the ceremony, there was a reception for the kids and families.

Then, the fifth graders changed and went to their pool party at the community pool next to the school.
It sounded like they had a great time.

Before school was over, they returned and changed clothes.

Morry and I walked to school in the afternoon.

Evan went over to a friend's house and Noah came home with us.

We picked up Evan at 5:30. Then we got Papa and went to dinner at Home Slice.

For dessert, we ate at Culvers.  We tried to go to Big Top Candy, but it was closed already for the night.

Evan was exhausted and is asleep already.  Noah is in his room.

Here are some pictures from today.
