Missing Teeth
Around 1:30 I picked up Noah for an orthodontist appointment. The dentist recommended we see one because Noah has a large gap between his front teeth and a couple of other issues. The dentist suggested an orthodontist near us.
The doctor was very nice and kid friendly. He took an x-ray. It turns out, Noah is missing 3 adult teeth. See image below. The 2 on either side of his front teeth and one on the bottom near the back. The plan is to have the other adult teeth on the front come in first to fill in the space of the missing tooth. Then, in about 2 years, come back to the orthodontist to get braces to move anything around. Last, the new 2nd tooth will be shaped like a incisor to look like the real 2nd tooth should. For the bottom missing adult tooth, we will keep the baby tooth there permanently, since there is nothing to push it out. Noah is happy that he doesn't need braces right now. The gap doesn't seem to bother him. Besides that, everything looks pretty good with his teeth.
Noah and I got home around 2:45. Morry walked to pick up Evan and Jack.
Around 3:30, Jude came over. Noah and Jude had a good time. He left around 6:00.
I'm getting dinner ready now.
Morry and Evan should be home around 7 - 7:30 from baseball practice.
Here is the x-ray of Noah's teeth. It's hard to see, but the doctor circled the spots with missing teeth.

Back from Dallas
We had a nice time in Dallas.
I had doctor appointments Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Everything looked good so far.
Uncle Irv and Aunt Ora came in from Israel, so I purposely planned my doctors appointment for this week so I could see them.
They were only in Dallas for 2 days, but it was nice seeing them and I'm glad Noah got to spend some time with them along with Uncle Jay and Aunt Susan.
Noah and I got back late afternoon.
For dinner we made pasta.
Soon, we'll get the boys ready for bed.

Kids in School and Other Stuff
I had a doctor's appointment to get my thyroid checked which I have to do every so often.
Noah had a good day at school. He made a drawing of Evan and wrote Evan's name on it too.
After I picked up Evan from school he wanted to play badminton outside. We played for just a little bit and then I got ready for tutoring.
Blanca came over.
Morry and the boys had dinner together and played Wii.
I got home around 8:45. Dmitriy was over and he and Morry were doing some work.

Rachel to the doctor
Morry took Noah to school and I went to the doctor. I got my toe all wrapped up. It is not infected but I need to stay off of it for a while - no running. I need to wear open toed shoes and protect the toe with the gauze/tape wrap. They also ran a strep test and it was negative. So who knows why I'm achy and have a sore throat.
Noah had a good day at school. After picking him up we went to Galaxy to get some lunch for me. They gave him a lollipop there.
Morry had a meeting and bought smoothies for all of us. On his way home he picked up Evan from school.
Gabby came over and I tutored.
For dinner I just had some leftovers from my lunch and Morry made both us grilled cheese.
The boys have been put to bed, but they are not asleep.

Soupy
When I was done (it took about an hour), I picked Noah up and we went to lunch at Panera. I packed a lunch for Noah and I ordered soup for me and cookie for him. Morry met us there and then we went to Noah's sports class.
In Noah's sports class they are still working on football. He had a good time.
We walked to pick up Evan today. Noah did very well on the way there, but was very cranky on the way home. We walked home with another mom and kids who live near us. Noah was throwing a fit almost the whole way home. He wouldn't come inside when we got home. I finally got him to come in the garage and was able to close the garage door. Noah remained in the garage throwing a fit. He wore himself out and fell asleep on the floor in the garage. He slept there for about an hour.
For dinner I made soup and Morry made some fried matzoh.
We got our cookie dough from a neighbor's school fundraiser tonight so Morry is baking a few cookies right now. We had clean up night tonight while waiting for the cookies.
After eating a cookie (or two) we'll put the kids to bed.

Pink Eye
I called the doctor and got a 10am appointment. It turns out he has pink eye - the very beginning of it. I'm glad we caught it early. He has drops we need to put in his eyes for the next few days. That's it. It's not too bad.
At 12:30, Noah's new teacher, Ms. Kathy came by the house. They spent a lot of time in Noah's room. Noah wanted to show her his Geo Trax.
After she left, I took Evan over to Benjamin's house for a play date. I offered to get him around 3:30, but Benjamin's mom said they were having a great time and asked if I could pick up Evan at 6.
At 6:00 I picked up Evan and then we had dinner at home. I had a veggie burger. Morry had a hamburger. The kids had their various kids foods.
After dinner we went to Blizzy's for shaved ice.
The boys have been put to bed, but they are still playing around in their rooms.

Back at School
After dropping the boys off I went for a doctor's appointment. I had a check up with my oncologist and everything looks good so far.
I went to Target to get Evan's school supplies. It was busy there. I wasn't the only one with that idea. I got everything we need for Evan's kindergarten class.
Evan and Noah had a good day at school.
At home, they played outside while I got my lunch ready and then ate it. Even though it was 100 degrees they didn't seem to mind. They weren't out there that long because I wanted Noah to come in for him nap.
Morry came home a little later today, so he picked up Little Caesars pizza on his way home.
We are about to put the boys to bed.
That video from our trip is uploading now. I was having trouble with it. I'll try to get it up as soon as a I can.

Mother's Day at School
When I picked the boys up from school they were both in really good moods.
Gabby came at 4 and I tutored.
For dinner we went to Panera and ate outside.
The boys are in bed now.

Lots of Appointments
Lots of Appointments
This morning Blanca came at 7:15am so I could get to my 8:00am gastroenterologist appointment. I have been having some stomach issues for a while. I had an abdominal ultrasound and cat scan in the last few months and both were clear. Since I want to be extra cautious about any little thing, I wanted it checked out. I could just be IBS stuff or maybe an ulcer. The doctor wants to do an endoscopy, so I have one scheduled for next Thursday.
After the appointment I came home for a little bit and then went to the bone density scan. That test was really easy compared to all the tests I have had lately. I just had to lay on a table for a few minutes while they took a few x-rays.
Then, I went to see the new acupuncturist. I had a hard time understanding him. He’s from China and has a thick accent. I liked him and the office. I felt way more comfortable there than the other place. This acupuncture seemed more relaxing. I’ll go back again next week.
On the way home I stopped at Target.
When I got home it was about 3:15pm and both boys were napping.
Susan from the Mom’s club ordered food for us from Mangieri’s for dinner.
After dinner Evan and Noah played in the house in their new firefighter rain boots that I got them at Target. They also ate pretzels out of their new Toy Story and Incredibles snack containers.
We just put the boys to bed. I’m expecting this to be like almost every night. Noah usually goes to sleep right away and Evan either keeps yelling for us requesting something or coming downstairs until we go upstairs to bed.

Lots of Help Today
This morning Gabby was here from 7:30 – 10:30. The boys seemed happy to see her and play with her. Then, Bradford (a friend of ours) picked up Evan and Noah and took them to a bouncy place and then back to her house for lunch. She dropped them back off at home around 1:15pm.
Evan and Noah played for a few minutes and then I put them down for naps. They both slept well.
At 4:30 a mom brought over dinner for us from Blue Bamboo and then Evan, Noah, and I got in the car to meet Morry at work. I had an appointment to meet with an acupuncturist at 5:00 near Morry’s work. So, Morry and I just switched cars at his work and he brought the boys home.
I didn’t actually have acupuncture today. She did some tests and we’ll meet on Tuesday to go over the results and talk about what kind of treatments they suggest.
I got home at about 6:30 and we ate dinner.
We lit the Hanukkah candles and then Evan and Noah played for a little while with their new Toy Story figures.
We just put Evan and Noah to bed but Evan is still up talking to Morry.

White Blood Cells
This morning Evan got up while Morry was getting ready for work. Morry got Evan some breakfast and put on a movie for him.
Gabby came at 7:30am.
I had a doctor’s appointment at 9:00am. Last Thursday I had my blood checked in Dallas and my white blood cell count was very low. It was 1.1 and the normal range is 4.1-11.1. The doctor was not overly concerned. She said it was expected and actually a sign that the chemo was working. The doctor said I needed to be extremely careful not to get sick or get an infection when my WBC is so low. I was told if my levels don’t go up on their own I would need to get a shot (that can cause a lot of bone pain). At my appointment today, I had my blood checked again. It went up a little. It was at 1.8. Since it appears to be going up I did not need a shot today. Before my next chemo they will check my levels again.
On my way home I stopped at the mall. It was only about 10:30 so I figured it wouldn’t be too crowded. I needed to get a new watch battery and some Bath and Body works soaps. I was in and out pretty quickly.
Gabby and Blanca traded off at 12:30. I got lunch ready for the boys and Blanca took them outside to eat lunch. Blanca stayed until I got the boys down for naps.
Evan and Noah took good naps. I was able to nap too.
For dinner we used one of the gift certificates Evan’s classmates gave us. Morry picked up food from Natural Planet. Evan and Morry shared a pizza. I had a veggie burger and Noah ate hotdog.
After dinner the Steelers game was on. Evan and Noah watch some of it and then we put them to bed (in their separate rooms). Noah is still making some noise. Evan was throwing a fit and he’s actually downstairs right now. I think it’s half time now and Morry will try to put Evan back to bed.

Noah’s Check Up
This morning we had a doctor’s appointment for Noah. It was his 18 month check up and everything looked good. Noah weighs 27 lbs 7oz (70%) and 33.5 inches (70%). Noah got the seasonal flu shot and a hepatitis A shot. We were able to get Evan the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine while we were there too. They didn’t have a seasonal flu shot for Evan or a h1n1 for Noah. We’ll have to try again another time or call around the city.
Blanca came over at 12 and stayed though the afternoon until Morry got home.
When Morry got home we took the boys to get haircuts and then picked up Thai food for dinner.
Evan and Noah are in bed now, but still playing.

Doctor, CVS, and Newflower
This morning I made a doctor’s appointment for Evan. He’s had this little bump on his butt for a while, but the last week he’s been scratching it and it got bigger and more irritated. I was able to make an appointment for 9:45. Evan, Noah, and I went to the doctor. It took a while. We were there for about an hour. The doctor said Evan has Molluscum Contagiosum, a skin condition that causes raised, round, bumps on the skin. We have to give him an antibiotic cream 3 times a day for a few days.
After the doctor we went to CVS. There were a lot of items on sale there that we needed. We were there about an hour. Evan was not well behaved and it made the shopping take extra long. I also had to take him to the bathroom twice. I guess it’s not in a good neighborhood because when I was trying to get out to the car I realized the shopping carts don’t fit through the door. I had lots of big items (toilet paper, paper towels, ..). There was no way I was going to be able to get that stuff and the boys to the car without a cart. The checkout guy offered to help me to the car. That was very nice of him, but I was annoyed at the store.
Then, we went to Newflower, across the street. I got our groceries for the week and also got some good deals there. Evan and Noah were better behaved there. I gave them both apples to eat to keep them busy. After checkout I took the boys to the bakery to get their free cookie (kids get free cookies).
We came home, ate lunch, and the boys took good naps.
For dinner, we ate rotisserie chicken and leftover potatoes.
After dinner, I made Morry run with me. :)
I want to try and start exercising more. Maybe we’ll try running after dinner and see how that works out.
Evan and Noah are in bed now, but Evan is still awake.

Noah’s Check Up
When I picked Evan up at school he was in his spare change of clothes. The kids played outside in the sprinklers today and Evan got soaked. Natasha said Evan had a great time and kept asking her to spray him more.
Evan and Noah took really long naps.
For dinner we made spaghetti.
At 6:30 Blanca came over and then Brian, our neighbor came over at 6:45. Brian is a photographer on the side and wanted to expand his portfolio. He was looking for couples for pictures. We volunteered. We went to South Congress and took lots of pictures until the sun went down. I’m looking forward to seeing how they turned out. It was fun being in that part of the city. There are lots of neat little shops and restaurants.
We got home around 9:15 and put the boys to bed. It seems quiet.
