Hello everyone, this is Morry.
Last night, Evan stayed over Jack's house with Wade and Ethan. Noah stayed over at Grandma and Papa's. So Rachel and I went out. We had a nice dinner. We walked to a place called Voodoo Doughnuts. Apparently it is a Portland, Oregon institution and the first one they opened out of state was here in Austin. They are known for their crazy doughnuts. They were huge too. Rachel got one with chocolate icing, peanut butter drizzle and Oreos on top. I got one with chocolate icing and Oreos.
This morning we had to get up early. Even though it's Saturday, Noah's teacher scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences. The teacher wanted the students there for the conference. We picked up Noah on our walk and then had the conference. Noah's teacher said that Noah was a "terrific student" and that Noah was a "math genius". She wanted to know if Noah had anyone that was good at math in his family. We said only his entire family. She could not say enough good stuff about Noah.
On the way home, we stopped and got Evan.
Evan and I went a little later to a batting lesson with Coach Chris. Meanwhile, Rachel, Noah and Grandma went to Costco.
This afternoon, Rachel and Evan went for a bike ride to the Veloway.
For dinner, I picked up Pho Thai Son. When I got home, they got the order somewhat wrong. So Noah and I went out to pick up the mistake. We watched Hotel Transylvania 2 while having dinner.
The boys are now in bed.
Until next time...

Marathon Complete!
Hello everyone, this is Morry.
Rachel got up around 5 this morning and left the house before 5:45. The marathon actually started at 7. Rachel texted me at 8am that she had just passed Mile 5.
Noah and I picked up Grandma and Papa just before 9 and went downtown to meet Rachel at the finish line. At 9:10, I got a text from Rachel that she had just passed Mile 12. Assuming a 10-minute mile pace, I figured we had 10 minutes then to get to the finish line. We all walked really fast. Noah was able to keep up with me. I would say about 4-5 minutes at the most and we saw Rachel cross the finish line.
After the race, we met Deborah for brunch. We tried to go to Chez Zee but that had an hour wait. We ended up going to Russell's Bakery.
Deborah drove Rachel back to her car at the start line while I drove home with Grandma, Papa and Noah.
We weren't home long before Noah and I went and picked up Evan from Josh's.
When Rachel got home, we walked over to Grandma and Papa's and I helped Papa hang the TV above the fireplace. Evan rode his bike over. Then he and Papa rode their bikes to the Veloway. They really had a good time.
At dinner time, we went to HEB to get stuff for the week. We also got the movie Fantastic Four and ordered pizza from Papa John's. We had a family movie night tonight.
The boys are about to go to bed.
Until next time...

Baseball, Dallas, Anniversary, Rain, Lots of Rain
Hello everyone, this is Morry.
We had a crazy weekend. Rachel and Noah went to Dallas after school on Friday to see Uncle Mike, Aunt Jen, Maya and Artie who were in town visiting. Evan had a baseball tournament and the first day of the tournament was Friday evening. Evan pitched in both games on Friday night. He finished the first game and started the second. It was the first time he started a game. He pitched very well. He was pitching very fast. He struck out 5 kids. He had three hits in the second game.
On Saturday we ran some errands and then went biking at the Veloway. We rode our bikes over there and then on the way home it started to pour. The rain continued throughout the night and at one point we were told to take cover because of tornadoes.
The games on Sunday were postponed, so Evan and I drove to Dallas to be with everyone with the intention of coming back on Sunday night. When we got there, we found out the tournament was cancelled completely. Evan stayed over night and came home the next day with Rachel and Noah while I drove home that night. It was good seeing everyone and Grandma and Papa were happy we came up.
Rachel, Evan and Noah came home around 1pm yesterday just before the heavy rains started. It really poured yesterday and there was quite a bit of flooding in the city.
Luckily, the rain stopped before Rachel and I went out for our 12th anniversary dinner. We ate at Perla's. For dessert we went to Mozart's. Blanca babysat for the boys.
Today, it didn't rain at all which was nice. We walked to school in the morning and in the afternoon. Evan was actually able to get baseball practice in this afternoon. Rachel took Noah to tutoring.
The boys just showered and are about to get ready for bed.

Exercise and Maya
Hello everyone, this is Morry.
Rachel got up a bit earlier this morning so that she and Evan could go on another 2-mile run. Noah was sleeping while they went on their run. It was a tough day as it was hot and humid, even in the morning. Rachel said Evan was dragging a bit but he completed the run.
Noah got up while they were running and I got him dressed. When Rachel returned she took him to school.
Rachel and I had a meeting with some partners of ours so we could brainstorm some ideas.
After that, I had a doctor appointment and Rachel and Evan accompanied me. I have had a small little growth on my leg for many years but it seems to have gotten a bit bigger. The doctor said it's "scar tissue out-of-control" and nothing else. It would require more than just shaving it to remove it so she highly recommended not having it removed. It's never bothered me so I agreed. I just wanted to make sure it was ok.
On our way home, we got the news that Mike and Jen had their baby. The baby is named Maya Sylvie Krasnow. She and Jen and doing very well. Evan and Noah are very excited to have another cousin.
When we got home, Rachel and Evan went for a bike ride around the veloway. Then they picked Noah up from school.
For dinner we went to Home Slice. That is where I wanted to go for my birthday, but they are closed on Tuesdays. Unfortunately, the really messed up. First I'm not sure what happened but they may have lost our order. Then when the pizza came it was wrong. They were continually apologetic and did give us the pizza for free.
We got home and took a walk. Well, Rachel and I walked but Evan and Noah rode their scooters.
They are in bed now.
Until next time...

Home Slice
Hello everyone, this is Morry.
Today Rachel took the boys to school. They seemed to have good days. The music teacher came to Noah's classroom. Evan said he played with Victoria, Jake and Cory. Evan says that Victoria likes to hold his hand "a lot" and he said "a lot" with emphasis.
While the boys were in school, Rachel went for an 8 mile bike ride around the Veloway.
After school, Rachel and the boys walked to a playgroup. There were mostly girls there so Evan and Noah stuck together most of the time.
Gabby came at 4 and Rachel went to tutor.
Rachel had a meet-up for breast cancer survivors tonight off of South Congress after tutoring. She had a little time in between tutoring and the start of the meet-up. So I took the boys and met Rachel at Home Slice for pizza. We were able to eat outside. While we were waiting for the pizza, Evan and Noah played ping pong. I played a bit with Evan as well. Eventually another boy walked over and played with Evan and Noah. Evan ate his pizza well.
Rachel left dinner a bit early and I took the boys home. Noah fell asleep on the car ride home. I took him upstairs and got him dressed for bed while he was still sleeping. I was feeling very lucky that Noah might just be asleep. Unfortunately, about 5 minutes later, Noah came out of the room because he had to go to the bathroom. Now, nearly 2 hours later, both boys are still up.

Another Bike Ride
Hello everyone, this is Morry.
The boys got up early this morning but they were able to play with Zayde. Evan got breakfast for he and Noah. And then Zayde got a bowl of cereal for Noah a bit later.
When I came downstairs, the boys went outside and played in the backyard for a bit. It was going really well for a while and then the boys started to fight. After a few warnings, I made them come in. Evan, while angry with me, still listened to me. Noah stayed outside and I had to go grab him. He threw a fit for a long time, some of which was spent in his room.
I made pancakes for everyone for brunch.
Zayde, Noah and I sat down to watch the Steelers game. Rachel and Evan went on the tandem bike. They rode for 10 miles. They rode to an area called the Veloway which is a 3 mile paved bike loop. On the way back they stopped and got Evan ice cream.
After the game, the boys went outside some more. Noah came in and Evan was still playing outside. All of a sudden he came in crying. He said he got sand in his eye and his tongue hurt. Rachel and I tried several things, unsuccessfully, to get him to stop crying. We even put him in the shower to try to rinse out his eye. Eventually, while sitting on my lap and putting in Return of the Jedi, he calmed down.
I ran out to Texadelphia and picked up dinner. When I got home the boys were in a good mood.
We just put them to bed. They are still awake.
Until next time...
