Orientation

This morning Morry, Lizzy, and I walked Noah to school.  As we were close to home Evan was walking to the bus.   In the summer, Evan said he wanted to walk with us every morning to drop off Noah.  I was wondering how long that would last.  Not very long.

When we got home, I left for ATA. Today and tomorrow are the orientation for the students.  They have mixers and rotate to have short sessions to meet the teachers.  I met all of my students and it went well.    I did a math scavenger hunt with them and a brain teaser problem.  They seemed to like both.

I got home as Morry was walking to pick up Noah.  I quickly dropped my things off at the house and walked to meet them at school.  I got there as they were just leaving the parking lot, so I was mostly able to walk home with them.

Evan got home around 4:15.

Shortly after Morry took Evan to baseball practice.

They got home around 7:30.

We had pasta and soup for dinner.

Evan's working on his homework now.

Winners

This morning the kids watched the Middle School movie we rented for them from Redbox.

I went for a run.

We all left the house around 12:15.  I dropped off Evan at Applebee's for his ride to his baseball scrimmage game.

Morry took Noah to his football tournament.

Then, I met Morry and Noah at the game.

Noah had a game scheduled for 1:00 and if they won, they would play in the championship game at 3pm.  Noah's team won, so we waited around for the second game.  Noah's team won that game too and were the winners of the lower division teams.  Noah played very well.

From there, we went to the end of Owen's birthday party at the bowling alley.  We arrived just in time for pizza and cupcakes.  Noah spend about 45 minutes with his buddies and then we went home.

For dinner we had a frozen Asian meal and egg drop soup.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Sleepy Noah

It was cold this morning (upper 30s) so Morry drove Evan to school.'

Noah woke up around 9am and got into our bed and went back to sleep until about 11am.  When he woke up he was in a good mood.  I guess he just really needed sleep.

Noah and I ran some errands.  We went to Bed Bath and Beyond and Academy Sports.  Then, I dropped Noah off at Cole's house.

He had fun.  They played board games together.

Noah came with me to get Evan at school.  We drove since it was still a little chilly.

Evan and Noah played at home until Blanca came over.  I left to tutor.

When I got home we made dinner - egg drop soup and a Chinese frozen dinner.

Evan just finished reading to Morry.  Now, we'll get the kids ready for bed.

Winter in May

It felt like winter here today. It was cold and rainy. We mostly stayed indoors. Around noon we went to Clayton Elementary, where Evan will go to kindergarten, to pick up his registration packet. Kindergarten registration is tomorrow.

For lunch the boys ate really well. I was surprised. They ate all of their food.

Noah actually took a nap today. I think a few things helped. It was dark outside and he didn't have any toys in his room to distract him.

Gabby came at 3:45.

I tutored one student.

For dinner we had soup and fried matzoh.

We just gave the boys a bath and now Morry is reading to them.

Good Exercise

This morning after getting the kids dressed and fed I took them for a bike ride. First, we went to the Circle C Park. Evan and Noah played a while on the playground and then we had some snacks I brought with us. After that I rode to HEB. First, we sat down at a table and had ICEEs then we did some grocery shopping. I couldn’t buy too much since I only had the room in the back of the bike trailer. Usually Noah sits in the cart. Since I just had a basket with me, Noah got to walk around. He enjoyed the freedom. After HEB we went back home. It was about a 7 mile bike ride. The way there was very easy and mostly downhill, but on the way back it took me about twice the amount of time. I was pretty worn out once we got home.

Evan and Noah had a little bit to eat and then Noah went down for a nap.

When Morry got home we made mozzarella meatballs and egg drop soup. We made extra meatballs to freeze for later.

After dinner we went in the front yard. We have a motorized Spiderman bike that I charged up earlier today. Evan hasn’t ridden it in a while. He got on it today and was definitely too big for it. It went too slow for him. It was a good size for Noah, but Noah didn’t quite understand how to hold down the button to make it go constantly. He was doing a lot of starting and stopping. Evan and I played baseball for just a little bit. He hit me with the waffle ball twice and it actually caused a red mark. He hits the balls hard.

We just put them to bed. They both seem to be doing a lot better. Noah is still cranky, but he seems to be feeling and acting a little bit better.

Evan and Noah are both out of their rooms right now. ugh

Tests and Scans

This morning Michael and Jen watched the boys.

I met with the Austin oncologist. She said she was comfortable doing the CT chemo and we could start on Thursday as planned.

Then, I went to have all the tests and scans done. I had my ovaries checked, got a cat scan, and a full bone scan. I had to have the barium drink for the cat scan. Woah, was that nasty! That was the worst thing I have ever tasted. They offered flavor options. I picked berry, but couldn’t taste any berry. It tasted like I was drinking Tums.

I had a break for lunch and went to eat at Einstein Bros Bagels. That was the first time I ate lunch alone in a long, long time. I can’t remember the last time. It was nice and relaxing.

After I was done with the tests, I stopped at Target on my home and got some Halloween stuff and thank you cards.

When I got home, Blanca was there and the boys were just getting up from their naps.

For dinner we made egg drop soup. I had a sandwich with it and Morry had pasta.

We gave the boys baths and they finally fell asleep.

Flu Shot for Rachel

This morning we just stayed in the house. Then, after lunch we went up to Morry’s work. They were giving out free flu shots, so I got mine taken care of. They weren’t giving shots to young kids though. I’ll have to take Evan and Noah to their doctor soon to get theirs.

By the time we got home it was about 2:30. The boys went down for naps, but didn’t sleep that long. Evan was up after about an hour.

For dinner we made Turkey burgers and egg drop soup.

After dinner we were able to take a walk. It was actually cool outside. It was nice finally being able to take a walk after all this rain.

Evan and Noah are in Noah’s room now, but neither one is sleeping yet. Evan is singing his ABCs. Noah is whining for some reason.
