Errands and Meetings

This morning I dropped the boys off at Clubhouse for Kids and met with Morry and Noah's therapist.   The therapist went over some of the testing results.  Basically, she said there is no diagnosis (both good and bad news).  There's a big gap between Noah's cognitive development and his emotional development.  Noah scored really well on the tests in lots of areas, but emotionally he is behind.  She said she'd go over some ways to help us fill in the gap and make things easier on all of us.

From there, I picked up the boys and we went to Noah's sports class.

After Noah's sports class we came home for a little bit and then met a woman near the mall to buy another Leapster for Evan.  Evan's Leapster broke a while ago and I wanted to get him another one for our trip.  I found a lady on Craigslist selling a used Leapster along with some games.  We met at a Starbucks.

From there we met Morry at the mall to look at glasses for me at the Eyemasters.  They were expensive and would only take insurance out of network.  The haggling was annoying too. I felt like we were at a car dealership.  I decided not to buy from there.

We ate dinner at the food court in the mall.

On the way home we had more errands to run so we split up.  Morry and Evan went to Office Depot and Noah and I went to Babies R Us.

The boys are pretty much ready for bed.  We just need to put the clean sheets back on their beds.

Summer Vacation!

Today was Evan's last day of kindergarten.

Noah went to school too today, but he goes through the whole summer.

After I got Noah from school we went to HEB.

We drove from HEB to pick up Evan from school. It's hard to believe the school year is over.  Evan was a little sad today.

When we got home he seemed tired.  I asked if there was something he wanted to do today.  He seemed a little confused and asked, "Do I get to pick something to do like when it was my birthday?"   He said he didn't know what he wanted to do, so we just ended up taking it easy at home.

Before dinner, Evan said he was still trying to decide what he wanted to do.  At that point there weren't that many options left.  We needed to eat dinner and didn't want to be out too late.  He decided he wanted to go to Blizzy's after dinner.

We had grilled chicken with rice and salad for dinner and then we all went to Blizzy's for shaved ice.

The boys are in bed now, but not asleep yet.

Bookstores

This morning Noah had an appointment with the therapist.

After that we went to Half Price Books to get activity books for the kids for our road trip.

Then, we went to the Barnes and Noble for my tutoring.  Noah sat at the table with us while I tutored for an hour and a half.  He did word searches from one of the activity books we picked up at Half Price Books and he drew some pictures.  He was very well behaved.  After tutoring, I let him pick out a snack from Starbucks in the bookstore.  He chose coffee cake.  Noah played at the trains for a little bit and then we went to Petco to get food for Lizzy.

We were home for just a few minutes and then we rode the bike to get Evan.

Tomorrow is Evan's last day of school.

Later this afternoon someone came by to fix the crack in my windshield.

For dinner we had leftover Salt Lick from last night.

We taught the boys how to answer the phone when it rings.  We figured they should know how to do that.  We practiced calling from our cell phone and then asked Zayde to call too.  The boys like that.

The boys cleaned up tonight and now they are in bed.

Memorial Day - Pool and BBQ

This morning Morry did some work.  We ate lunch and then went to the pool.  The kids were very excited to go swimming again.  We were at the pool for about an hour.  Evan and Noah were good and had fun.

We needed more dog food so we called the pet store near us to see how late they were open.  When I called they said 5:00.  It was about 6 minutes 'till 5 and I thought I could probably get there in time.  I got there at 4:59, but the store was already dark and the door was locked.  That was pretty annoying.  We have canned food we can give Lizzy tomorrow until we can get her some more food.

We invited Jack's family over for dinner.  Morry picked up Salt Lick and I got the house ready and cleaned up.

We had a nice time tonight.  The kids enjoyed playing together.  Jack has a sister in 2nd grade.

They brought ice cream and cherry pie for dessert.

We just got the boys ready for bed.  They were supposed to have clean up night tonight, but it got too late.

New Pool

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, we decided to go to brunch.  We had been planning to take Rachel to a Mother's Day brunch two weeks ago but with Rachel having to rush to Dallas, we were not able to celebrate until this morning.

We drove all the way to the other side of the city for a place called the Original Pancake House.  We had been to one in Dallas and it was pretty good.  The boys did well at the one in Dallas.  We called on the way and put our name on the list.  We were seated fairly quickly once we arrived.  The waitress came and took our order but then we waited...and waited.  The boys started to get antsy.  I don't even know how long we waited but I'm sure it was at least 30 minutes.  When the food arrived it was good and the boys both finished their food.  We quickly ate, paid and left because Rachel scheduled to tutor someone.

On the way home, Evan's friend Ben invited us to go to the new pool with them.  We agreed I'd take the boys and Rachel would meet us after she tutored.  Rachel quickly left after we got home and I got the boys ready for the pool.

At the pool, Ben's parents brought these special things that sink in the water for the boys to dive down to get.  Evan and Ben did that pretty much the whole time.  Noah had a good time swimming from the steps to me and then back to the steps.  We saw several people we know at the pool.  All in all we were there for about an hour and 45 minutes.

When we got home, we had someone coming to the house to buy the bed from the guest bedroom downstairs.  We decided to really make this more of an office.  We'll replace it with a pull-out sofa.  The couple that came was furnishing their daughter's college apartment.  It worked out well for everyone.  We also found some stuff that we didn't know we had under the bed.

We had some small stuff for dinner and then we went to Blizzy's for shaved ice.  Blizzy's is only open in the summer.  Noah has been looking forward to them opening since September.  Everyone had a good time there.

The boys played baseball for a bit after we got home.  Now they are in Evan's room but not sleeping.

Until next time...

UT Campus

We had a small breakfast at home and then went out for the day.

First, we picked up Morry's car from the shop.  Then, we went to the UT campus.  We got souvenirs from the bookstore to bring to people on our trip.  The boys were really wild in the bookstore and Noah had to go to the bathroom twice while we were in there.

Then, we ate lunch at Einstein Bros Bagels on the drag.  The boys were also pretty wild at lunch too.

We walked around campus, but all the buildings were closed because it was holiday weekend.  I wanted to take them inside the union, but it was locked.  Then, Noah had to go to the bathroom again.  We tried the library, but it was locked too.  We had to walk back to the bookstore so that Noah could use the restroom there.

We took it easy at home for the rest of the afternoon.

While the boys ate dinner, I started giving Lizzy a trim. The shaver ran out out of juice since I didn't have it charging long.  I'll have to do more tomorrow or another time.

We just gave the boys showers and got them ready for bed.

Now, we'll eat our dinner.

A Graduation, A Tea Party, and an Anniversary

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today was the last Friday of school for Evan.  There are only two days next week.  Because this was the last full week, they arranged to have a "Kindergarten Graduation" for Evan's class.  I put some nicer clothes on Evan this morning because of it.

Before the graduation, I had to take my car in for service.  The Check Engine light was on.  Rachel picked me up after dropping Noah off for school.

When we got home, we packed a picnic lunch and went over to Evan's school.  First they gave out "diplomas" and then the kids in the class performed a song for the parents.  Then each child held up a picture with what they were thankful that their parents did for them this year.  Evan was thankful we made him his lunch.  Following the ceremony, we had a picnic lunch outside with all of the families.  We sat with Jack's family.  Evan and Jack informed me that they both were going to go to UT for college and that they were going to live together.  Did they think this was high school graduation?

After lunch, they showed a slideshow with pictures of the kids.  They had also recorded each child saying what they liked most about Kindergarten and played those while showing a picture of the child.  Evan liked all the learning.

Once that was over, we quickly drove home dropped some stuff off and went over to Noah's school.  His class was having a Tea Party.  I don't know what prompted that but they were having one and Noah was very excited.  He has been talking about this since Wednesday.  Many of the parents from Noah's class were there.  Noah's friend Cole was wearing a sleeveless shirt.  His parents told us that he made them get him those kind of shirts because Noah wears them sometimes.  They had pudding for the parents as well as cookies, tea and lemonade.  Noah helped pour lemonade for Rachel and me.  The kids in Noah's class sang a song for us.

Noah stayed home while Rachel picked Evan up from school.

This evening, Rachel and I went out for our anniversary.  Blanca watched the kids while we were gone.  They both were asleep when we got home.  Blanca said that Noah said he wasn't going to go to sleep until 11pm but I guess he couldn't make it that late.

Until next time...

The Mall and Sports Class

This morning Noah and I went to the mall.  While we were gone we had our gutters cleaned.

After the mall we went to sports class.  Noah had fun and then we ate our picnic lunch outside at the park behind the little gym.

We came home for a little bit and then it was time to get Evan.

We rode the bike to get Evan, came home again for just a little while, and then went to get haircuts.

I took the boys to Cool Cuts 4 Kids.  That's the place we went last time where they get to play video games during their haircuts.  They were good there.

For dinner we had leftover chicken and couscous.

After dinner we took a walk.

The boys are ready for bed now and will hopefully go to sleep soon.

Oh, the Tooth Fairy is coming tonight.  Evan lost another tooth last night, but he wanted to bring it to school today.  That is his 3rd tooth that he has lost.

Back to School and Back to Karate

Today was Noah's first day back at school in a while.  He and his friend Cole were very happy to see each other.

I went for a run and got some stuff done around the house.

After picking up Noah we stopped to get gas at JD's Market.  We went inside to get a few things as well.  It's nice having a little market/store close to us.

I rearranged the garage so our bikes fit in there better, then Noah and I rode the bike to get Evan from school.

We were home for just a little while and then it was time for Karate.  Noah did well and had fun.

Morry was home when we got home.

For dinner we had burgers and corn on the cob.

The boys are in bed now.

Can I sit down now?

It was a busy day today.

We had our cleaning lady come today, but I had a ton of stuff to do this morning before she got here.  Evan was supposed to have cleaned his room last night, but it was not clean this morning.  Morry said Evan did clean his room, but played in there last night.  I was rushing around trying to get stuff off the floor and put away.

Noah had an appointment with his therapist today.  That lasted a little over an hour.

After that I wanted to take Noah to the Little Gym for a make up class, but the class was full.

We came home for just a little bit.  I had to do a few things and make some phone calls.

Then, we went to HEB and had a lot of groceries to buy.

We got home and I quickly put the freezer/fridge food away.  Then, we rode the bike to get Evan.

We came home and I put the rest of the groceries away.  I got snacks for the boys, and then I was finally able to eat lunch.

I was able to rest a little once Morry got home.

I made crock pot chicken and then we had roasted garlic and bread and salad.  The therapist was coming over to our house around 6:30 to observe so we wanted to have dinner ready by then so she could see everything.

She stayed through the boys bedtime.  She's going to meet with us next and go over some ideas and the results from Noah's testing.

The boys are in bed now and I think they are asleep.

Absolute Joy

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Everyone is back from Dallas now.  So let me give a recap of what has happened:

Thursday:
Evan and I drove up to Dallas for the funeral.  When Evan saw Noah, he picked Noah up and hugged him.  He completely ignored Rachel.  The funeral services were very nice and the amount of people who came showed what an impact that Shirley had made.

Friday:
I worked from Dallas in the morning.  I went with Rachel to the oncologist for a normal checkup.  Everything was fine.  Then Evan and I drove back to Dallas.  Traffic was tough as it was graduation for UT on Saturday.

Saturday:
Evan had another playoff game.  Unfortunately, the team lost.  Evan was in a bad mood most of the day. I think he was over tired from a very tough week.  In the late afternoon/evening we went to Matt and Rachael's for Matt's birthday.  Rachel took Noah swimming in Dallas and there was another service on Saturday night.

Sunday:
I took Evan to the field at Clayton and pitched to him for about 45 minutes.  We used balls as opposed to wiffle balls.  He did pretty well.  Then he went over to his friend Daniel's house.  Daniel is a boy from the baseball team who lives around the corner.  He was there for a couple hours.  Then I picked Evan up and took him to the new pool.  Daniel and his family met us there so Evan played more with Daniel at the pool.  They were in the pool for an hour and a half.  We got Little Caesar's for dinner.  Rachel and Noah were at Bubbe's helping clean up the house.

Today:
I took Evan to school as normal.  He was good this morning.  Rachel drove home from Dallas with Noah and Lizzy.  They got home in time to pick Evan up from school.  I took the boys to tennis while Rachel tutored.  The boys did well there again.  Noah did very well.  Afterwards the coach said to me that it was an "absolute joy" watching Noah play tennis and how much he enjoyed it.  When we got home, we walked to Jack's house.  I had picked up the trophy from the baseball season after the game on Saturday.  Jack had left by that point.  We came home and I made dinner for the boys and got dinner ready for Rachel and me for when she got home.

The boys are now in bed but not sleeping.

Until next time...

No Baseball

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was still just Evan and me today.  We rode our bikes to school this morning.  Evan was in a good mood.

In the afternoon, after I picked Evan up, he played baseball in the backyard by himself.  At 4pm, Gabby came over the house.  With everything going on, we forgot to cancel her visit.  So I used that as an opportunity to get some errands done.  I had to pick my suit up at the cleaners and get medicine from HEB.  I also got Evan's clothes ready and loaded some movies on to my iPad.

This evening, Evan was supposed to have his playoff baseball game.  It rained yesterday canceling yesterday's games which put the schedule back a day.  So Evan won't be able to play in his playoff game tomorrow. We had to go to the field though to meet the coach.  I had one of the assistant coach's shirts as I've been acting assistant coach.  I needed to return it to the coach for tomorrow.  I brought Evan with me and he played with the coach's son, Josh.  We watched one of the games.  If Evan's team wins tomorrow it's possible that we could play the winner of the game today.

After that, we picked up McDonald's for Evan and brought it home. I had some leftovers.

I got Evan showered and just put him to bed.  He just came down to tell me he was packed.  He brought down a suitcase with Legos and stuffed animals.

Until next time...

Goodbye Shirley

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Within one minute from the time I posted last night's blog, we got a phone call saying Grandma/Bubbe/Shirley had passed.  She was not in any pain and passed peacefully.

This morning, since Rachel was having trouble sleeping, she let me sleep a bit and took Evan to school.  Noah got up and went with them although he was being very difficult.  Rachel took Noah to another appointment and left for Dallas with Noah from there.

I picked Evan up from school.  I had to drop my suit off at the cleaners.  I took Evan next door and got him a donut as well.

When we came home, I did a little work.  Then Evan and I went out in the front yard and played baseball for an hour.  We alternated having a catch and hitting.  Evan even tried batting left handed.

When we came inside, I warmed up left-over pizza and we watched E.T. (Evan's choice)  When we finished the movie, Evan wanted to go for a walk, so the two of us and Lizzy took a short walk.

I got Evan ready for bed and without Noah here, he went to sleep very quickly.

Until next time...

Busy Afternoon and Rachel's Back...For Now

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning I woke Evan up.  We had to go wake Noah up since Rachel wasn't here and he would have to come with me to take Evan to school.  I was nervous that Noah would be in a bad mood but he was in  good mood.  While I got Noah up, Evan wanted to pick out clothes for Noah.

We rode our bikes to school.  It was tougher than I had thought biking with Noah on the back.

Later I dropped Noah off at school.  He was in a good mood.  Noah was only the 2nd kid there which he seemed to like.

When I picked Noah up from school, he seemed very excited.  He ran over to me as soon as I came.

We stopped home for a bit, I had lunch, while Noah played baseball outside.  He was throwing the ball against the net and then he got a wiffle ball and bat and was hitting the ball.  I was happy to see Noah outside rather than playing the Wii.

We rode the bike to get Evan.  Shortly after picking Evan up, the boys had tennis.  Both boys did very well again.  Noah really likes this two-hand forehand.  He also found it extremely funny every time he hit the teacher.  In fact, I realized, he was aiming for the teacher.  Every time he hit him, Noah would jump up and down with his arms raised.  When I was a kid and my dad would take me to a driving range, I would aim for the guy driving the thing to pick up the balls.  This reminds me of that.

The other instructor was working with Evan and another boy on more advanced concepts.  They had the boys stand closer to the net and they were trying to lightly hit the ball just over the net.  Then he had them actually try to volley with each other.  It was fun to watch.

From tennis we had to drive to baseball practice for Evan.  Several of Evan's teammates were excited to see Noah.  I think Noah really liked that.  Then Jack's sister Audrey took Noah to the playground and they played for a while during the practice.  As usual, and much to Evan's delight, he played almost exclusively at second base.  The coach also had the boys race each other at one point.  When the whole team raced each other, Evan actually won, though I thought Evan may have won partially while using his shoulder to knock a few kids out of the way.

The boys were in a very very good mood after practice and it was good because Rachel came home.  The waiting game continues with Bubbe/Grandma/Shirley and Rachel wanted to get home for a bit before she has to go back.  It is great having Rachel home.

On the way home, we stopped and picked up pizza at Austin Pizza Garden.  The boys really like that pizza.

The boys had showers and they are in bed now.  It appears to be quiet too.

Until next time...

The Avengers

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

With Rachel in Dallas, we were not going out for Mother's Day Brunch.  So I promised the boys we'd go see the Avengers.  I had two coupons for a free small popcorn with purchase of an Icee.  The boys always want both popcorn and Icees at the movie theater so this worked out perfectly.

I had spoken with two different dads about whether the movie was appropriate for kids.  It definitely was good for Evan.  It was a little long for Noah.  There was a lot of fighting but no cursing and really minimal blood.  The boys loved seeing the Hulk and Ironman.  Evan liked Black Widow as well.  It was a good movie.

After that, we went to Dick's Sporting Goods.  We had to return something and I wanted to look at some baseball stuff for the boys.  We got a screen where you throw the ball against it and it bounces back.  We also got some baseballs.  I set it up in the backyard and both boys were taking turns with their gloves on throwing the ball.  I think it's going to be great for them.

I asked the boys to clean up after they came in and then we played some Wii.

During dinner, we watched the old movie Mouse Hunt on Netflix.

The boys are in bed and sleeping now.

Grandma (Shirley)

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Shortly after 9pm last night, Rachel's parents called.  Her grandmother, Shirley, had had a massive stroke. She was in the hospital and not much was known at the time.  So this morning, Rachel left for Dallas to be with her grandmother and her family.

Unfortunately, the news is not good.  It appears that the damage was bad but the true extent of the damage will not be known until the swelling goes down.  She's currently in a deep sleep state, not quite a coma as she is having some response.  Rachel will stay up there for a few days as the doctors know more.

I took Evan to the baseball field for his playoff game.  We stopped at the Donut Hole on the way to the field and got donuts.  The rain that we've had caused a game last night to be suspended after two innings. That game finished up before our game so our game was delayed.  Rachel dropped Noah off at the field on her way to Dallas.  The other parents on the team really helped me out watching Noah while I coached on the field.  Evan's team won their playoff game and will have their second round game on Tuesday night.  Evan played really well throwing out a kid while playing second base and almost throwing out a kid trying to stretch a single into a double when he was playing right center.  It looked like the kid was out but the ump called him safe which drew Evan's wrath.  He was not happy.

We came home and had lunch and then went to a birthday party for a boy in Noah's class.  They had a moon bounce.  Evan loved it - he was the big kid.  He had the 4 year olds trying to tackle him in there.  He was proud that it always took two kids or more to bring him down.  Noah's friend Cole was there so Noah was happy.

Again we stopped home for a bit before I took them out for dinner and milkshakes at Steak 'n Shake.

The boys are in bed now but not sleeping.

Until next time...

Eye Doctor

Today Noah was a little cranky this morning, but he calmed down quickly.

He went to school, but I picked him up early around 12:15.  I had an eye doctor appointment at 12:30.  I had to make it at that time because they didn't have much available.  I was worried I wouldn't be done in time to get Noah, so they said it was ok to bring him with me.

Noah was very good there and even pressed the button to take pictures of my eye.   He liked that.  My prescription only changed a little, but I need to pick out new glasses.  I narrowed it down to 6, so I'll have Morry come with me soon to help me choose.

We got Evan from school and came home.  Around 4pm Jack's mom called to see if Evan could come over.  We walked over there and Noah wanted to stay and play.  I talked to Jack's mom for a while and she said it was fine if Noah wanted to stay longer.

For dinner we picked up food from Blue Bamboo.

The boys are taking showers now and then they'll go to bed.

Evan's Field Day

Evan's school had Field Day today.  Evan's group was going from 8:30 - 10 and then again later in the day.  I really wanted to go, but since Noah has sports class in the afternoon I decided to go in the morning.

Noah was up early, so I thought we'd have no problems getting there on time.  Noah did not want to go. It was a fight.  I wanted to walk and convinced him to sit in the stroller finally.  We got there around 9am.  Evan's group was doing the cup stacking station.  There were a few other siblings there.  Noah sat with them and did some of the cup stacking.

After that, the group went to Hip Hop Dancing.  Here's a video below.  Noah did not want to participate.  After the dancing I was trying to talk to another mom, but Noah was acting cranky and wouldn't let me talk.  He kept hitting me and whining.  We walked back home.

Noah had fun at sports class and afterward we went to Sunflower to get some fruit and vegetables.  The kids really like these little sweet peppers I got last time I was there.  HEB does not sell them, so I got a few packages while we were at Sunflower.

It started pouring down rain on the ride home.  I parked in front of the school to get Evan.  Noah had fallen asleep in the car and I had to carry him in the rain into the school.  Pickup was crazy and there were tons of cars in line to pick up kids.  I'm glad we parked.  I'd rather get wet than sit in a long line of cars.  Evan and Noah thought it was fun getting wet on the walk back to the car.

While I tutored tonight, Morry took the boys to Noah's Karate class.  Evan was supposed to have baseball practice today, but it was canceled due to the rain.

When I got home we had hamburgers for dinner.

The boys are ready for bed now and will hopefully fall asleep soon.  Noah definitely needs it.

Evan's near the center with a red shirt and black/yellow hat.

More therapy

Today Noah was up early. Morry said the boys were playing this morning when he went to get Evan ready for school.

I took Noah to school, got some stuff done around the house, and then picked him up early at 12:30.  Noah had a 1:00 appointment with the therapist.  He was in there for an hour.

We still don't have suggestions or a diagnosis.  I'm hoping we get something soon because at $170/hr this is going to get expensive pretty quickly.

I didn't think I'd be home in time to get Evan from school so Morry picked him up.

Noah and I got home just a few minutes before Morry and Evan.  Noah had fallen asleep in the car, but woke up when I got him out of the car.

At 4pm we went to Noah's Karate class.

At home the boys were pretty cranky and whiny.

For dinner we had leftover chicken from last night and brown rice.

The boys had showers and now Morry is reading to them.

Noah's Buddy

Noah's friend Cole came over this morning.  We made the plans yesterday and ever since then Noah has been super excited.  He woke up early this morning and kept asking when Cole was going to come over.

Cole's mom dropped him off around 10am and he stayed until 12 noon.  The boys had fun playing together.  Cole didn't want to leave.

Today it was raining so we spent the rest of the afternoon inside.

Jack's dad called to see if I could pick up Jack at school today.  His sister had gone home sick.

Noah and I took the car to get Evan and Jack since it was raining.  We put Evan's bike in the back of the van and then dropped off Jack at home.

Blanca came at 3:45 and I tutored.

For dinner we had chicken.

The boys had showers and are now brushing their teeth.

Bike and Tennis

This morning Noah and I rode the bike to his school.  He liked that.  It looked like it might rain, but we were ok.  I made it there and back and it didn't rain.  It actually got sunny and hot today.

Now, it looks like it might rain.

Anyway, while Noah was at school I met Morry for lunch downtown.  We ate at a kebab trailer.  It was good. There was an area in a parking lot with about 4 food trailers and it was packed with people.

On the way to get Noah from school I stopped and picked up a few things at HEB.

I got Noah and then shortly after we rode the bike to get Evan at school.

At 4pm the boys had tennis lessons.  Both boys did well, but Noah did really well.  They let him use both hands (which they allow for the young kids) and he did very well.  They said he was the most improved today.

The boys saw a turkey vulture in our yard today.  At first Evan thought was a hawk.  We looked on the internet and figured out it was a turkey vulture. The boys were very excited by it.  It was eating a dead squirrel (in our front yard).

For dinner we had leftover Rudy's barbecue.

The boys had showers and now Morry is reading to them.

Lunch with Grandma and Papa

This morning we hung out at home.  Papa had a Hillel meeting.

After Papa's meeting we met at Austin Diner.  The food was good, but the boys were not very well behaved and did not eat well.

From there, Grandma and Papa drove back to Dallas.  We stopped at Target on the way home.

This afternoon Morry and the boys played baseball in the front yard.

For dinner we had leftovers.

We took a walk after dinner.

Noah is still being very cranky.  Today was not a good day in terms of Noah's behavior.

Let's hope tomorrow is better.

A Busy Saturday - Part Three

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today we had yet another non-stop Saturday.  The difference between today and the previous two Saturdays is that it started later.  Evan did not have a 9am game.  In fact the first thing we had to do was Noah's Karate at 11am.  But from that point on we were doing something.

Grandma and Papa took a separate car than us to Noah's karate.  After karate, we had an appointment with a new person for Noah to see.  So Grandma and Papa were going to take Evan back home after karate.  As we were sitting in karate, I got a call from the alarm company.  Our house alarm had been going off.  It turns out that Noah who had gone out the front door when Evan was playing baseball in the front yard, had not closed the front door properly.  So shortly after we had left the door blew open.  I came home, closed the door, locked it and turned around to drive back in time to get Rachel and Noah and drive to the appointment.

The appointment went well and as it was the initial appointment, it was nearly an hour and 45 minutes.  From there, we met Grandma and Papa at Bruegger's Bagels.

Evan and I raced through lunch as I was volunteering at the concession stand at the baseball fields.  Evan's friend Jack's dad was going to be there as was our coach and his wife.  Their son Josh is the boy who came over to our house last week and he was going to be there too.  So I brought Evan and the three boys (along with Jack's sister Audrey) played while we worked the concession stand.  At the end, Evan and Josh actually helped.

As soon as that was over, Evan and I drove up to Barnes and Noble in the Arboretum to meet Rachel, Grandma and Papa.  They were meeting Aunt Susan there.

We stayed at Barnes and Noble for a bit and then drove to Rudy's for dinner.

The boys were well-behaved at Rudy's.  Evan and I were "watching" the Pirates game on my phone.  It was just the ESPN GameCast which shows the current batter and the current pitch.

We came home, gave the boys a shower and put them to bed.  Then Rachel and I went out to see the Five Year Engagement.  I thought it was really funny.  Rachel thought it was ok.  It was a bit long.

Now we're finally home and ready to go to bed.

Until next time...

Grandma and Papa Arrive

Noah threw a little fit about going to school today.  I had a hair appointment and was not happy that he was making us late.

I dropped him off and went to my hair appointment in Round Rock.  I came home for a little bit and got some stuff done around the house.

I picked up Noah and we went to the bank and then home.

We got Evan on the bike a little bit later.

Grandma and Papa got here around 5pm.  Papa played baseball with Evan and Noah in the front yard for a little bit.

For dinner we went to Texas Land and Cattle.  We ordered salmon for the boys.  Evan ate a lot, but Noah had a few pieces.  They both ate a wedge salad with it.

The boys are ready for bed now, but not asleep.

Well Check Up

Today Noah and I went to HEB.  I put the groceries away and then we went to sports class.  His class was small today for some reason.  There was only one other kid in the class.  Noah had fun playing tennis in there.

We drove to get Evan since we had a doctors appointment for the boys.  It was for their well check-up.  We got Evan and put his bike in the car and headed over to the doctor's.

Evan is 46.75 inches (75%) and 51lbs (75-90%).  Noah is 39.75 inches (50%) and 37 lbs (50-75%).  Noah had to get 3 shots today, but did very well.  When he found out he was getting shots, I told him we'd pick up Sonic slushes on the way home.  That made him happy.

We got our slushes and then came home.  Morry quickly got Evan dressed for baseball and then went to the baseball game.  Then, I took Noah to his Karate class.

Evan's team had a pizza party after the game.  Evan ate 5 pieces of pizza, but Morry didn't have any.

When they got home Morry, Noah, and I ate.

We just got the boys ready for bed, but Noah's throwing a fit in the bathroom.

Zoo with Noah

Noah's class had a field trip to the zoo today.  Noah was really looking forward to it and was happy that I was coming too.  We met at the school and then caravan to the zoo.

Noah had fun, but was really tired by the end.  Most people left after lunch.   Noah was ready to go home.

We rode the bike to get Evan, but before leaving Noah was throwing a fit about something relating to the Wii. I'm not sure what the problem was.  He wouldn't tell me. He just told me he hated me.  Because of that we were running late.  I had to pedal very fast to get to school.   Usually Evan's class is one of the last ones out, but of course today they were the first.  There was only one other class outside, so he didn't have to wait long for us.  I just felt bad I wasn't there right when he came out.

Gabby came over at 4pm and I tutored.

On the way home I picked up Popeye's for Morry and Panera for me.

The boys are ready for bed, but still playing in their rooms.

Wii Taking it Easy

Today Noah didn't want to do anything. I suggested we take a walk, but he didn't want to.  I didn't feel like fighting.

We stayed at home most of the day.

We played baseball outside for a little bit and the rest of the day Noah was happy just playing Wii.  He's really into it and wants to play all of the time.

We rode the bike to get Evan at school.

Blanca came over at 3:45 and I tutored.

Morry took Evan to baseball practice and Blanca stayed with Noah until I got home.

We had pasta for dinner.

Morry is reading to the boys now.
