Rachel's Birthday

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today is Rachel's 35th birthday.  Noah made some drawings for Rachel and gave it to her this morning.  When she came downstairs the boys and I gave her a gift.

She ended up going for a walk on her own as the boys wanted to stay here and I was working.

Rachel still tutored today so Blanca came over and took care of the boys.

I had a meeting at 2pm outside of the house.

In the late afternoon, Rachel took a short nap and then we went to the Melting Pot for dinner.

The boys did wonderful at the restaurant.  For the kids they could choose up to three things to cook.  Evan chose salmon and shrimp.  Noah chose steak and salmon.  Noah ate all his steak and a bit of the salmon.  Evan ate all of his salmon, shrimp, and all of Noah's salmon that Noah didn't finish.  Evan then had a ton of the chocolate fondue as well.

We are home and the boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Another Easy Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today was very much like yesterday.  With a big week coming up, we just stayed at home and relaxed.  Rachel slept in, I worked, the boys played Wii.

In the afternoon we took a walk though we didn't let Lizzy swim.  The pond is fairly dirty and we didn't want her in that water too much.  We brought a tennis ball and Evan and Noah threw the ball to her to retrieve.  She chased the boys around a bunch and they all had a good time.

The boys cleaned up the game room and their rooms while we made dinner tonight.

The boys are now in the rooms.

Until next time...

Take It Easy

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We have a busy week coming up and it was pretty busy this past week.  We decided to take it easy today.  I did some work, Rachel slept in and the boys played Legos and Wii in the morning.

Rachel got lunch for the boys. They ate outside which they really enjoyed.

After lunch, we walked to the pond near the school.  The boys threw bread to the fish and Lizzy swam with the fish.  Lizzy seemed to have a great time.

Later in the afternoon, I played baseball with the boys outside.

For dinner, we went to Johnny Carino's. Both boys ate well there.  They like that place.

Then we went to HEB to get food for the week.

Until next time...

We were home all day today.  About 9am the people from the air conditioner company showed up to put in a new air conditioner.

All seemed to go well and we finally have a cool upstairs.  It is actually the temperature we set it.

During the day the boys watched some baseball shows on Netflix and they ate lunch outside in the backyard.

For dinner we picked up food from Yaghi's.  Morry and the boys had pizza.  I had ravioli.

After dinner both boys did reading, writing, and math.

They are brushing their teeth now and then we'll put them to bed.

I took the boys with me to tutoring today.  Today it was Evan's turn to pick where to go after tutoring.  He chose Sweet Caroline's.

Later in the afternoon Morry took the boys outside to play baseball. It started raining a little bit, so they came in and played Wii.

We had leftovers for dinner.

Noah and I did reading and writing while Evan played Legos.  Evan didn't want to do it.

Now, we'll get the boys ready for bed.

Rain on the walk

This morning it had rained some and looked overcast, but I still wanted to get the boys out and get some exercise.  We took Lizzy on a walk to the school.  We were almost home and it started pouring down rain on us.  The boys and Lizzy loved it.  They had a good time running home.

I tutored and Blanca came over.

For dinner we had leftovers.

The boys watched some of the homerun derby.

We just put them to bed.

Buddy Day at the Movies

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The boys had been asking to see Monsters University.  They love Monsters, Inc.  So I promised them we'd go this morning.  The boys were good at the theater as always.  I think we all liked Despicable Me 2 better.  This movie had more depth to it, but Despicable Me 2 was more fun.

When we got home, the boys started playing MLB Power Pros right away.

I got a text from Jack's dad and Jack invited Evan over.  So I took Evan over to Jack's house.

Rachel did reading and writing with Noah and he loved it.  They worked for an hour and Noah did really well.  Rachel was impressed and Noah was proud of himself.

Around 4:45, Rachel picked Evan up from Jack's house.

After dinner the boys had clean up night.  Evan got baseball cards as his prize and Noah got a Wii game.  They were happy.

They are in bed now.

Until next time...

Back to Baseball

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Earlier this week, I had emailed the people on Evan's team to see if anyone wanted to get together to play some baseball.  I set it up for 11am this morning.  Late enough that people got to do stuff but before it got really hot outside.  Evan's coach and his son joined us.

We stopped at a gas station and got Gatorades on the way over to the baseball complex.  We got there a little early in case the fields were locked or someone was on the field.  Before Evan's coach and son got there I pitched to the boys some.  When everyone got there we set up a boys vs parents game.  Evan's coach pitched to the boys while I fielded.  Then Evan and Barrett took turns pitching to us.  I have to say, both kids were able to pitch well to us.  There were no really bad pitches.  Evan's coach was a college baseball player so he batted left-handed and didn't swing strongly.  I came up in the first at bat and swung at a pitch.  I thought I did a half-swing but I guess not because I hit a home run over the fence.  I batted left-handed after that.  Rachel came and played for a while.  It was nice to have her play with us.

When we came home, the boys ate lunch and then just hung around the house.

For dinner we went to BJs.  Then we went to Sam's Club and got some stuff.

We gave the boys showers and now they are in bed.

Until next time...

Target and Challah

The boys have been wanting to go to Target.  They saved up their money and wanted to buy some Legos.  I told them we could go today.  Evan got a big square mat piece to build Legos on and Noah got a surfer/shark kit.  They were both very good at Target and the Target employee was very nice when I handed bags of coins and bills that the boys have saved up.

When we got home I made challah. I found a recipe online and used that along with making some stuff up on my own.  It turned out really good.  I would make it again.

For dinner we picked up Pho Thai Son an ate at home.

After dinner we took a walk.  The boys are in bed now.

Here are some challah pics.

Bagels

This morning the boys, Lizzy, and I took a walk to the elementary school.  Everyone had a good time.

When we got back I got ready for tutoring.

The boys came with me to tutoring today.  Since they were good, I let them pick out a place to get snacks.  It was Noah's turn to choose and he chose Sweet Caroline's.  So, we stopped there on the way home.

This afternoon I made bagels. I found a recipe online. They turned out pretty good, but next time I'll use less salt.

We had burgers for dinner and then took a walk.

Morry is reading to the boys now.

37

Today is Morry's 37th birthday.

He had a meeting this morning.

While he was gone the boys and I went to HEB and then their checkup appointments.  Everything looked good. They did not need shots today.

We had lunch and Gabby came over.

I left to tutor.

For dinner we all went out to Logan's to celebrate Morry's birthday.  The boys did well there.  On the way home we stopped at Central Market so that Morry could pick out a dessert for tonight.  He picked a fruit tart that we'll have in just a little bit after putting the boys to bed.

The boys are having dessert now and then we'll get them ready for bed.

Noah's Pal

This morning I went for a run and then Cole came over to play with Noah.  Evan played Wii downstairs while Noah and Cole played upstairs with Legos and Trios.  The had a good time.

I needed to tutor, but Morry had a meeting and wouldn't get home in time.  So, I took the boys to meet Morry close to my tutoring so we could transfer them to Morry's car.  It worked out fine.

For dinner we had pasta and then took a walk.

The boys are ready for bed now.

Humid

It rained just a tiny bit last night which made it really humid today.  I went for a run, but the boys wanted to stay home with Morry.

When I got home I made them lunch and got ready for tutoring.

Blanca came over and I left to tutor.

When I got home I spent a lot of time on the phone dealing mostly with medical bills and insurance.

For dinner we made pizza and then took a walk.

After dinner we went to HEB to pick up a refill of my medicine.

The boys have been put to bed, but they are still up playing.

Stay at Home

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today, we really didn't do anything.  Evan was up first and playing in the game room.  Noah got up shortly after I got up.  He and Evan continued building their baseball stadium.  We are going to take video of their stadium with the boys describing it, but have not done so yet.  We will post when we do that.

In the afternoon, Rachel took the boys out to play baseball in the front yard.  It was very hot and humid today so that played for a while and then came in.

Later in the afternoon, Rachel and the boys made ice cream for after dinner.  It's the way Rachel and Evan made it several years ago but putting cream and vanilla and ice in a bag and shaking it.  Evan had his ice cream after dinner.  He seemed to like it.

For dinner, we had some leftovers combined with some new food.  The boys ate well.

The boys cleaned up their rooms and then we took a walk.  Now they are cleaning up the game room.

Until next time...

Swimming

Today we had nothing planned.  It was nice.  We ate brunch at home and then took the boys to the pool.  We were there a little over an hour.  They had fun.

When we got home I made shaved ice.

This afternoon Morry and the boys watched a Pirates game on tv.

We made dinner at home.  Morry grilled chicken for him and I got salmon ready for him to grill for the boys and I.  We also had corn on the cob and asparagus. After dinner we got dessert at TCBY.

We just got the boys ready for bed, but it will probably be a while before they actually fall asleep.

At home I went for a run and then made lunch for the boys.

Later in the afternoon we went to Great Clips to get haircuts for the boys, HEB, and then picked up dinner from Torchy's.

Block Party

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today was a busy day.  Both Rachel and I had things to do.  Rachel had a massage appointment and I had two meetings back-to-back.  Since I wasn't going to be home in the later morning, Rachel took the boys with her to the massage.  Rachel brought our old iPhones for the boys to play with.

When Rachel got back she had to tutor so Gabby came over and watched the boys.

Rachel got home just before me.  We immediately had an appointment with an AC guy.  Our upstairs unit has a big leak and because of it's age and being in Austin, we're going to need an entirely new unit.  He was giving us an estimate.

We had dinner and then we went out to our block party on the street.  It was really nice and nice to be with our neighbors.  Jack and his family were there as well as Evan's friend Nathan who is at the end of our street.  Evan, Jack, Noah and Nathan had a good time playing together.

The golf course near our house had their fireworks show and you can see it from our street which is why the block party was scheduled for tonight.  We were able to watch the fireworks display.

It is late and we just got in.  The boys are just getting into bed now.

Until next time...

Swimming and Cookies

This morning the boys took it easy at home.  They watched Field of Dreams.  I went for a run.  I made them lunch and then left for tutoring.

While I was gone Evan and Noah went to Jack's house to play and swim.  They had a good time.

This afternoon and evening Noah helped me make and decorate sugar cookies for our block party tomorrow.

For dinner we had leftovers.  The boys (all 3 of them) are playing Wii now.  Soon, we'll put the kids to bed.

Back to Work

This morning we stayed at home.  I went for a run.  The boys didn't want to come with me on their scooters so they stayed home with Morry.

I got lunch ready for the boys and Blanca came over to babysit.  I left to tutor.

The boys were playing outside with Blanca when I got home.

For dinner we had frittata.

After dinner we got dessert at Ritas.   When we got home we took a short walk with Lizzy.  Evan and Noah then played outside for a little bit before it got too dark.  We made up a baseball game.  I drew a target with spots for home run, triple, double, and single.  They threw a penny to see what they got.  If it was outside of the target it was an out.  They really liked that game.

The boys are ready for bed, but still playing around. They don't seem very tired.
