Another Hard Day with Noah

Noah was tough this morning. He got up on his own, but did not want to get ready for school. I tried to get him excited about following the schedule we put up, but he didn't want to do it. I was going to bring him to school in his pajamas and at the last minute he decided he would let me get him dressed. I had to carry him downstairs while he was kicking and screaming. He wouldn't get in the car. Morry had to put him in his car seat.

When we got to school he would not get out of the car. I started walking toward the building, but he didn't follow me. He just stayed in the car. He was throwing a fit when I tried to get him out. Last week when I had to fight with him I was very sore after and I couldn't do that again. I went inside the school and asked one of the teachers for help getting Noah out of the car.

Every time I tried to open the car door he'd close it again with the button. It kept hitting me and closing on my hip. It hurt even though it's supposed to be child proof and stop when something hits it. His teacher had to pry him out of his car seat and carry him to the class room. I followed them in and then left shortly after that.

I had an appointment for a facial since my skin has been breaking out. Then right after I had the Pilates class.

When I got home I quickly showered and got to Noah's school just in time. His teacher said he had a good day at school.

Then, in the car on the way home he started throwing a fit and wouldn't get buckled. At home, the fits continued while I was trying to eat lunch. I offered to have him sit with me and he could eat too, but he still threw a fit. I made tea for me and he said he wanted tea. I offered him some of mine (I made a pot). That wasn't good enough. He wanted his own. Since I only had a few minutes to eat my lunch before it was time to get Evan, there wasn't time to make more tea. It was downhill from there.

I got Evan and Jack at school and we came back home.

Gabby came at 4pm and I left to tutor.

Morry took Evan and Jack to baseball practice while Noah stayed with Gabby.

Morry made dinner for Evan and Noah at home. I got home around 7:30pm and then we had dinner.

The boys are not going to sleep. They are both still up now.

Noah in the house

Noah stayed in the house all day today. I offered him opportunities to leave, but he didn't want to go anywhere.

I wanted to go for a walk this morning and he started complaining about going. I didn't feel like fighting and left him home with Morry.

Later, I needed to go to HEB and pick up Evan. Again, Noah didn't want to go. Morry said it was fine if I left him at home.

I know we can't do that all the time. I don't know why he fights things so much.

For dinner we had and Asian pasta boxed dinner that was pretty good and salad to go with it.

The boys are in the shower now.

Raining again

This morning I thought I would run, but when I went to take Noah to school it started raining. Noah did well this morning. He did not fight getting ready for school.

At 10:30 I met Lauren and Garrett to go shopping. We are planning a baby shower for Michael and Jen and we went to go look at some things for the party. We went all around north Austin to various craft stores and dollar stores.

On the way home I stopped at the post office to mail something. There weren't that many people, but for some reason the line was moving really slow. I was worried I wouldn't have time to get to the front of the line and pick up Noah. I called Morry and he was able to get Noah. I probably could have made it in time to get him or maybe been a couple of minutes late. It was nice Morry was able to do that.

While I was at Evan's school picking him up, I got a text that my tutoring was canceled.

For dinner we had pizza.

The boys just took a shower to help with congestion. Morry is reading to them now.

Doctor and Sunny Weather

This morning we took both boys to the doctor. Noah just has allergies. He has some fluid in his ears, but it's not yet an ear infection. The doctor recommended giving him some allergy medication to make sure it doesn't turn into an infection. Evan, just has a cold. He also had some ear fluid, but not an infection. For Evan the doctor recommended Mucinex and allergy medicine.

For brunch we went with Michael and Aunt Susan to Austin Diner. It was good.

After that, we went to Mt. Bonnel. It was a beautiful day out and the boys enjoyed the scenery.

Michael left for the airport around 4:00. At 5pm Morry had a meeting at Mozart's (coffee shop on the lake) so we all went. I sat with the boys and then we walked around for a little bit. After Morry's meeting we went to dinner at the restaurant next door (Abel's on the Lake). It worked out well. The food was good.

When we got home we turned on the shower for the boys. They don't normally shower, but we thought the steam would be good for them. They are playing in the shower now.

Here's some video from the weekend.

Crying in an Empty Bath Tub

Crying in an Empty Bath Tub - that's what Noah is doing right now. I'll get to that more later.

This morning there was a citywide Marathon Kids event at a stadium near us. The kids at elementary schools can run 26 miles over a course of time and then they complete a final lap together to complete the marathon. Today, was the last lap. It started at 9am. We didn't really want to go, but Evan wanted to go because he knew he would get a medal at the end. When we got there it was really crowded and we didn't have a whole lot of time. Evan had a baseball practice at 11am. We made our way to the front and were able to leave by 10am. We ran the lap with Evan and he seemed to enjoy that.

While we were gone Noah stayed with Michael at home. We gave Noah the option of coming, but he chose not to go.

Evan and Morry went to Evan's baseball practice. They had a scrimmage game today and Evan did well. He stopped quite a few balls while playing pitcher.

Noah was very cranky today. I think he's still not feeling well. Evan started coughing when he got home. We made them doctor's appointments for tomorrow.

This afternoon Evan rode his bike in the cul-de-sac and then rode to his school and back home. Morry said Evan needed some help on the hills and he's not quite ready to do the ride to school in the mornings. But, he still did very well.

For dinner we ate at Rudy's. The boys were not well behaved. Noah was especially whiny.

We gave the boys baths. Noah got upset about me washing him and he's still crying in the tub. We let all the water out and he's just in there crying. He doesn't want to get out. Any bets on how long he stays in there? He must be cold.

Uncle Mike

This morning Noah did well getting ready for school. We followed the schedule I made for him and put up in his room. We'll see if that works next time as well.

I had a check up at Texas Oncology and everything looked good.

On the way home I stopped at Target and bought a new backpack for Evan. The zipper broke on his other one.

I got Noah at school and then we went to the library.

We came home for a few minutes and I ate lunch. Noah started to get cranky, but I couldn't leave him at home. Morry was at a meeting.

Noah was so cranky at Evan's pick up. He was crying and throwing a fit because he said I was walking too fast. I slowed down to turtle speed and he was still throwing a fit that I was going too fast. Parents and other kids were commenting about his crying.

At home I put on tv for Noah downstairs and tv for Evan upstairs.

Uncle Mike got here around 6pm. The boys were excited to see him.

We all went to Trudy's for dinner.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Sunny Day

Today it was in the 80s again. It was very nice this morning and I wanted to go for a walk. Noah started throwing a fit that he didn't want to go. Luckily, Morry was home. I just left Noah watching TV and I went for a walk.

We went to Noah's sports class. He was very excited about getting to play hockey today. He had fun as usual. After sports class we stopped at Smoothie King on the way home.

I cleaned the house some and then went to get Evan at school.

I tutored tonight and got home around 7:30. Morry had given the boys dinner and made our dinner (hamburgers). We ate while the boys played.

We just got the boys ready for bed.

Cranky x 2

Today was a cranky day.

Noah was horrible this morning. I had to wake him up for school. I actually let him sleep in a little bit and then slowly woke him up. He woke up in a bad mood and already complaining about not getting dressed and not going to school. Noah stayed in his pajamas. I had to carry him downstairs and strap him in his car seat. His foot can reach the door open button and he kept hitting it making the door open back up. The door wasn't closing all the way so I couldn't lock it. At first I pretended not to notice and kept trying to close the door, but then I got tired of the game. I decided to just start driving anyway. As I backed the car out of the garage Noah says "Ha Ha. I opened the door." I explained to him how dangerous that is and he closed the door before we got out of the driveway.

I had a very hard time getting out of the car. He was doing the same door game but this time closing it every time I tried to open it. I had to squeeze in to stop the door from closing. I carried him into the school while he was kicking, screaming, pinching. He eventually dressed himself in the classroom and after a while calmed down.

By the time I got home it was 10am.

I went to my Pilates class at noon and then picked up Noah from school. He was good at pick up.

At Evan's school I picked up both Evan and Jack. Jack was coming to our house after school and then they would go to baseball practice together, like last week. I decided to walk since last time Evan threw a fit in the car because Jack got the booster seat and Evan had to ride in his usual car seat.

I thought the walk home would be good for them - get some energy out. Evan was very cranky. He was whining, bossing Jack around, complaining about the heat (it was in the 80s). It was not a fun walk home.

At home Evan and Jack kept fighting about things. Evan was complaining about things Jack did or didn't do. Then Evan was fighting with Noah. Evan went in his room for time out for a while while while Noah and Jack watched Wall-E.

Morry took Evan and Jack to practice.

I had to tutor so Gabby came over to watch Noah for a little bit.

I picked up Popeye's for Morry on the way home. We are going to eat dinner now.

The boys have been put to bed, but they are both still up.

Meetings

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning was Evan's first day back at school after a 4-day weekend.  He was pretty tired going to school.

Noah slept in, which he needed.  He has a cold and over the weekend he didn't get much sleep.  Yesterday he slept in, also had a nap, and then he slept in today.  Not surprisingly, his mood was much better and I think it was good for him to start to feel better as well.  He was supposed to go to Cole's house, but Rachel decided to not to send him so he could relax.

At 11am, I had a client come over to the house for a meeting.  Rachel took Noah out to Sunflower Market to pick up some fruit and vegetables.  Rachel said he was really good there.  They came back just as my client was leaving.

After Rachel and Noah finished lunch it was nearly time to get Evan.  Noah stayed here while she got Evan.  Just as they got back Gabby showed up.

Rachel had a hair appointment at 3:30, and there was a mix-up with the time.  The lady handled it badly so Rachel was able to get an appointment at another salon.  After that she has a meeting to go to for Social Media Marketing.  She was there representing MBSquared.

I made dinner for the boys and me and then we played Super Mario Bros.

Rachel just got home and the boys are in bed.

Until next time...

Evan's Parent Teacher Conference

Today Evan didn't have school, but we still had a parent-student-teacher conference at school. The kids took the parents around to different stations and showed us what they were working on. Then, we met individually with the teacher for a few minutes. Evan is doing well and it was neat seeing his progress this year.

Gabby came over to watch Noah while we were at the meeting.

When we got home I gave the boys lunch. They wanted to eat in the game room. I put down a towel and they ate on the floor watching TV.

We went in the cul-de-sac for a little bit, but Noah was getting whiny and kept asking to go home.

Evan and Morry went to baseball practice at 5:30. Noah fell asleep on the floor while they were gone. He was very cranky when we woke him up for dinner.

We put the boys to bed a while ago, but they are still up talking.

Another Movie Night

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning the boys played upstairs while I did some work.

Rachel was doing the laundry when she pulled the mattress pad off of our bed.  I guess it started to crack and break.  So we needed a new mattress pad.  We went over to Kohl's and found a mattress pad to get.  The boys were hiding on the bottom shelf of one of the racks for a while.  Two other little kids ran by.  One of them, a little boy that looked a bit younger than Noah, kept repeating over and over "I found boys, I found boys".  It was pretty funny.

When we got home, we had lunch, but Noah went upstairs for his nap time.  He's been staying up late recently and we can't get him to fall asleep.  So he was pretty tired.  I don't think he slept, though.

We told the boys again that if they cleaned up, we could have another movie night.  We picked up Dolphin Tale.  There wasn't a whole lot to clean up.  Noah wouldn't clean up his mess.  It's hard to punish him because he's ok if you take things away.  So I tried a new tactic.  I offered Evan a prize if he cleaned up Noah's mess.  Evan was excited and cleaned up his mess.  As I had hoped, this really made Noah upset.  He did not want that to happen.  Hopefully, next time he'll remember that.

The boys are supposed to be in bed now.  I hear them.  Hopefully they'll go to sleep soon.

Until next time...

Inside Rainy Day

We have been getting a lot of rain. It rained most of the day.

We stayed at home until it was time to leave for Lincoln's birthday party (3:00).

Evan and Noah had fun at the birthday party. They enjoyed playing with Lincoln's toys.

After we left the party we went to dinner at Enchiladas Y Mas. We had to wait a while for a table. The boys were both tired and whiny. Evan was especially whiny. He said he wanted scrambled eggs, but when it came he made up excuses as to why he wouldn't eat them.

We just got home and now we are putting the boys to bed.

Evan's Day Off

Today Evan didn't have school. Noah did though, and he threw a fit this morning. Noah said he was sick and didn't want to go to school. He was acting ok so I made him go to school anyway. He wouldn't come in the room at first and was standing in the hallway at school. Eventually we got him to come in. After a few minutes he was fine and I left.

Evan and I went bowling today. That's what he chose.

Tonight we dropped the boys off at the Little Gym for Parent's Night Out. Morry and I went out to eat at Jaspers and then had dessert at The Steeping Room.

We just got home and somehow the boys aren't tired.

Star Wars

This morning Noah, Lizzy, and I went for a walk.

I gave Noah lunch at home, but he didn't eat very much. He was acting ok though.

Noah loves his sports class. He really looks forward to it. He started talking about this morning after waking up. He had a good time today and waved to us several times while he was in the gym.

After sports class we went to Target and then picked up Evan from school.

Evan's friend Ben came over to play for a little while after school.

While Morry and I got dinner ready Evan and Noah cleaned up the game room and Evan's room. It was a mess.

After dinner Morry took the boys to see Star Wars at the movie theater.

They are there now and should be coming home soon.

Evan doesn't have school tomorrow, but Noah does.

More Baseball

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning was a fairly uneventful morning.  Evan was good on the way to school.

When Noah got up this morning he was cranky.  He gave Rachel a hard time going to school.  When Rachel picked him up from school, the teacher said that Noah was not his normal self and was complaining about his stomach.  We've had a very little stomach bug going around our house.  I suspect it's Noah's turn.

Rachel had pilates class this afternoon and I met the designer I work with.  She and I are working on our own sites at the same time since we each recommend the other.

Rachel picked Evan and Jack up from school today.  Jack is on Evan's baseball team.  Both of Jack's parents were working this evening so we brought him home with us and I brought both boys to practice.  The two of them are so rough together. It's funny.  On the way to practice, they were playing the game "That didn't hurt" as they were beating each other up.

Practice went well.  So far I like Evan's coach and there are several kids from Evan's team last year playing.  It was good to see the dads.

We came home and I made dinner for Evan and me.  Noah didn't want any dinner because of his stomach.  He went to the bathroom and seems to be doing a bit better.

They are in bed now, though not asleep.

Until next time...

Valentine's Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Noah stayed in Evan's room last night again.  The boys are doing pretty well with it.  Noah is still staying up too late, but he does that in his own room.  He's not keeping Evan up which is the important thing.

When I came in to get Evan up this morning, Noah woke up.  I asked him if he wanted to sleep on my side of the bed in "Mommy and Daddy's room" and he said yes so I carried him in there.  He fell back asleep and didn't wake up until around 10.

A couple weeks ago, a girl in Evan's class, Chloe, was walking into the cafeteria where the kids wait for their teacher to get them.  She waved to Evan.  Evan just looked at her and raced to their line to beat her there.  She saw that he was going to run and started to run too and actually had the right position.  However, Evan dove to the ground sliding in and beating her.  Well this morning, as we walked into the cafeteria, Chloe was about 15 feet ahead of us.  Something caused her to turn around and see Evan.  She then taunted him because she was about to be in line before him.  I'm not sure Evan liked it that much.

Rachel took Noah to Mandola's for lunch to meet the Pink Ribbon Cowgirls.  Rachel said that he was really well behaved and very talkative with the adults.

I went to Evan's class party for Valentine's Day.  Evan seems to be doing really well at school.  He seems very comfortable there.  The party ended at 2pm and they get out of school at 2:45.  Some parents just took their kids home at that time.  But Evan told me wanted to stay the rest of the day.  Rachel ended up walking to pick him up.

We went to HEB and picked up some already made food.  We got some fruit and vegetables too.  There were a lot of people buying last minute flowers.

We ate our dinner when we got home.

The boys are in bed now.  Until next time...

Almost Valentine's

Last night Noah was up late. We had put him to bed, but Morry actually fell asleep before Noah. Noah kept coming in our room showing me things on his Leapster. Because of that, he slept in this morning. I eventually woke him up and we got to school about an hour late.

Today, Noah had his Valentine's Day party at school. They made pink pancakes and passed out Valentine's. Noah couldn't wait to get home and open his bag of Valentine's Day cards and candy.

Noah stayed home while I got Evan.

Blanca came over at 3:45 and I left to tutor. I was almost at the library and the mom called saying she forgot to call earlier. Her daughter was home sick and wasn't coming to tutoring. I turned around and came back home for a little. I went back out to tutor at 6pm.

Morry gave the boys dinner while I was gone. When I got back home we had eggs for dinner.

Evan finished addressing his Valentine's card tonight. It was part of his class homework. The kids had to write to: (name) and from: (name) on all the envelopes for everyone in their class.

The boys are in bed now, but not asleep yet.

Morry's Home

This morning is was very cold (for us). I told the boys that if they cleaned up the game room we would go to Locomotion. They complained a little, but got it done quickly.

On the short drive to Locomotion the boys got very excited. If you looked really closely you could see very teeny tiny snow flakes coming down. It was mostly sleet mixed with rain. It didn't last long and at that time it was above 32 degrees so nothing stuck or got icy.

The boys had fun at Locomotion.

At 3:30 we went to a Valentine's party at Wonders and Worries. It was a really nice, well put-together party. There were lots of little crafts and activities for the kids. They even had laser tag games going on. Evan loved that.

As we were leaving, Morry called. His flight had just gotten in and was ready to meet us for dinner.

We ate at Logan's and the boys were well behaved. They were happy to see Morry.

Morry is giving the boys baths now (washing the face paint off their faces).

Long, Good Day

Evan was up around 7am this morning and Noah got up about 9am.

Evan had his first tball practice this morning at 11:30am. On our way there we stopped at the Coffee Bean, which just opened up near us. I got a coffee and breakfast taco for me and coffee cake for the boys to share.

It was a good baseball practice. Evan had fun. The coaches seemed nice and excited to be there.

After the practice Evan's friend Jack (also on the team) and Jack's dad played catch a little bit. We had to go home to eat lunch but made plans with them to play after lunch.

We came home and ate lunch and then Jack rang the doorbell. We took the kids in the cul-de-sac for a while. Noah started getting cranky and wanted to go home for a nap. I took him back home and Evan stayed out with Jack and his dad for another 15 minutes or so.

At 5:30 we met Melissa for dinner at Chez Zee. The boys were a little cranky at first, but then they were good. They ate their pasta and then played with a Connect 4 game they had in the restaurant.

After dinner I took the boys to Dick's Sporting Goods to get baseball stuff for Evan. We got a new batting helmet, batting gloves, purple socks for his uniform, but we couldn't find a purple belt. The coaches want the kids to have purple belt, but Dick's said they don't sell one. It might be hard to find. We'll see.

On the way home Evan told me he wanted to set his alarm for midnight and have a party. I said we couldn't do that, but if the boys were good they could both sleep in Evan's room. They seemed excited by that. They are in Evan's room now and so far, so good.

2 Readers!

This morning the boys were good. It was a little bit drizzly out, but we still took the trail to school anyway. I knew traffic would be bad in front of the school.

Before dropping off Noah we stopped at the post office.

After picking up Noah from school we went to the library to pick out movies to watch this weekend. He chose a Shirley Temple movie. There have been ads on TV for Shirley Temple box sets and that's how they know about her. We also got a few other kid's movies.

Then, we went to Smoothie Factory to pick up smoothies for Evan's teachers. It's teacher appreciation week and I signed up to bring after school snacks for Mr. V and the teacher's aid Ms. C. I also got smoothies for Evan and Noah there.

At pickup for Evan's school Noah gave Mr. V his gifts.

When we got home the boys played with their bike/scooter in the cul-de-sac for a little bit.

At dinner I let the boys watch the Shirley Temple movie. At the beginning there was an option to watch it in black and white or color. The boys insisted on watching it in black and white. They were excited to see a movie that wasn't in color. They watched a little bit of it, but got distracted at times.

I got the boys ready for bed and then we read. Evan read a book and Noah read a book. With a little bit of help Noah read the Who Am I book from last night. He was very proud of himself. We made a big deal out of it.

Now, the boys are in bed.

Early Morning

Morry left for the airport early this morning, around 6am. About 6:20am Evan came in my room and was upset that Daddy was already gone. He wanted to go to the airport to drop him off. We had talked about that, but Noah didn't want to wake up that early. If we woke him up early anyway he would have been very cranky today.

I had to bring both boys to school this morning. Noah gave me a hard time because he didn't walk from the car to the school. I had to carry him both ways on the path.

Before sports class we stopped at the bank. After sports class we went to Target. Noah was good.

At Target I bought 2 bags of popped popcorn for the boys for snacks.

We picked up Evan at school and then brought him to Ben's house. I picked Evan up at 5pm.

When we got home the neighborhood kids were playing in our yard so Evan went out there to play with them.

Around 6pm all the kids went home and Evan came inside. I started getting dinner ready.

I realized Evan wasn't downstairs with us and when I called for him he didn't answer. I got a little nervous that he wasn't answering me. I went upstairs to his room. He had put his music on and was asleep in his bed. I had a hard time waking him up. I was worried that something was wrong at first. He was extremely cranky and was crying the whole time Noah and I were eating dinner. Finally, towards the end of dinner Evan started feeling better and then ate his dinner.

I just got the boys ready for bed and they are both in their rooms now. Evan read a book to us. It was called "Who am I", for beginning readers.

Buddy Party

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning was rather uneventful in taking Evan to school.  He slept on the bottom bunk this morning so it was a bit easier to get him up than when he sleeps on the top bunk which he had been doing previously this week.

I had a conference call in the morning.  As the call was winding down, Noah came into my office and asked if I could bring him to school.  When the call ended, Rachel and I drove Noah to school.

Rachel had her pilates class around lunch and then picked Noah up from school.

Noah decided to stay home with me rather than go with Rachel to get Evan.

When Rachel went to tutor, Gabby came over.  Gabby, Evan and Noah went to the end of the cul-de-sac.  Evan was riding his bike and Noah was riding his big wheel.  There was another boy from the neighborhood, Jackson, who was riding his motorized scooter.  Gabby told me at that Evan and Noah did have a collision but both boys were ok.  When I came out and said it was time to go home and let Gabby go, Noah said "Daddy, can you push my bike back home so I don't have to do anything?"  That's a classic Noah quote.

The boys and I went to dinner at Wendy's.  Then I stopped by HEB to pick up my allergy medicine.  And finally I got gas.

Last night we found out from the little league that Evan will be playing on the Rockies again this season.  Several of the boys he played with last year will be on the team.  I think he's really going to enjoy the season.  I got his baseball bag ready for practice (which might happen on Saturday) tonight.  I'll be traveling starting tomorrow so if he has practices, I'll miss it.

The kids are in bed now.

Until next time...

Storytime and HEB

Noah and I went to to storytime at the library today. Noah likes sitting on my lap on the carpet. Some kids sit on their parent's lap, but others go right up to were the librarian is reading the book. The craft for today was making bears out of plates. The kids glued on parts of the face as well as cotton balls and then decorated them. They also passed out bird seed for everyone and gave kids more than one bag if they had a sibling at home. Noah was very excited to tell Evan about his bird seed.

After the library Noah and I went to HEB.

We came home and had lunch and then Noah went to Cole's house for a little while.

Noah was so excited to be at Cole's. I've never seen him get out of the car so quickly. The boys had fun together.

Noah and I picked up Evan from school and then came home.

Morry played wii with the boys before dinner. For dinner I had fish and Morry had Buffalo wings.

We just got the boys ready for bed and Morry is reading to them now.

Kids in School and Other Stuff

I had to wake Noah up for school this morning, but he was in a pretty good mood. He wanted Morry to take him to school, so Morry did.

I had a doctor's appointment to get my thyroid checked which I have to do every so often.

Noah had a good day at school. He made a drawing of Evan and wrote Evan's name on it too.

After I picked up Evan from school he wanted to play badminton outside. We played for just a little bit and then I got ready for tutoring.

Blanca came over.

Morry and the boys had dinner together and played Wii.

I got home around 8:45. Dmitriy was over and he and Morry were doing some work.

Chuck E Cheese's and the Super Bowl

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The boys were good this morning and let us sleep.  They were very quiet in the game room.  Actually what got me up finally is that Noah opened the door into the garage because he was going to put a box in recycling and the alarm was still on.  I turned it off, but it scared him and he was crying.  It was just the warning alarm that let us know we had 30 seconds to turn off the alarm so it wasn't a big deal.  I told him he had done a good thing by trying to recycle that box.  He just needs to look to see if the alarm is red or green.

Rachel made blueberry muffins from scratch.  The boys, for whatever reason, didn't like them.

This afternoon, Evan's friend Ben had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's.  He only invited 4 other boys.  Noah was also invited.  The parents had hoped that since it was Super Bowl Sunday it wouldn't be crowded.  Unfortunately the weather was not on their side because it rained.  When we got there, it was hard to just find a parking spot.  It was absolutely crazy inside.  The boys seemed to have fun though.

We came home and had the boys calm down for a bit in the game room.

When the Super Bowl started, I let the boys come down.  We had dinner with the TV on.

Rachel had to tutor tonight.  She left around 7 and returned after 9pm.  She normally tutors this family on Wednesdays but they canceled this week because they were sick.

The boys are in bed after watching the whole Super Bowl with me.  They were both happy that the Patriots lost.  They are well aware that the Patriots are cheaters.

Until next time...

Nothing Fun Today

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Rachel had a physical therapy appointment this morning at 9am.  She got up early and left for that.  The boys played really well - first in the game room and then in Noah's room.  In Noah's room, they each were playing with their Leapsters.

Rachel came home a little after 11am.  We had lunch shortly after that.  It was kind of a gloomy day and it was threatening to rain so we decided to stay in.  We put Mary Poppins on for us.  It's a long movie.  Both Rachel and I hadn't realized it's over two hours long.  The boys got bored towards the end of the movie and didn't want to watch it any more.  We told them it was time for their "naps".  Evan was upset because he said that we didn't do anything fun today.

Shortly after Evan went upstairs, we got a call from the mother of Evan's friend Jack.  She asked if Evan could come over to play with Jack.  I told her about what Evan had said regarding the "no fun".  She said Jack had said the same thing.  Evan rode his bike over to Jack's.  I walked with him.  He was there for a couple hours.  I guess they rode their bikes back to our street to ride around in the cul-de-sac.  Evan said he had a really good time.

For dinner we went to Dickey's Barbecue Pit.  They are having a "Kid's Eat Free" special.  The boys ate fairly well there.  When you go there, you get free soft-serve ice cream.  The boys were excited by that.

We had to stop at Petco on the way home.

Right now, Evan is reading to Rachel.  We're working with him some more on reading.  He's getting pretty good.

Until next time...

Evan's Friend and Bike Riding

Today Noah didn't get to school until about 10am. He fell asleep really late last night and was still sleeping in this morning. I let him sleep until about 9:30am and woke him up for school.

Noah had a good day at school.

He stayed at home while I picked Evan up from school.

Around 4pm Evan's friend Jax and his mom, Anita came over. The boys all had a great time. They played outside some and then were doing a lot of running around upstairs.

After Jax left Evan wanted to ride his bike. Evan rode his bike around the block. He's getting a lot better about starting up on his own. He has a little bit of problems starting on a hill, but for the most part he did a good job. He also needs to work on breaking. He tends to use his feet to stop the bike.

For dinner we had food from the neighborhood pool grill delivered to us.

We are going to get the boys ready for bed now.

Memorial Service

This morning Noah was acting tired, so we stayed at home.

After lunch we went to Noah's sports class. Morry met us there after a meeting.

Noah had fun at the Little Gym and then we came home.

Noah wanted to stay at home when it was time to pick up Evan.

Blanca came over at 4:15. Morry and I had a memorial service to go to. Some from Morry's old work passed away recently from melanoma and they had a service for her at Laguna Gloria. It was a very nice service and the reception afterward was actually pretty upbeat. People were mingling and they had nice food and drinks out.

On the way home Morry and I stopped at a furniture store going out of business. We saw a few things we like, that we may come back for later.

When we got home Blanca and the boys were playing wii.

Evan and Noah are in bed now.

Warm Weather

Today started out rainy and then it warmed up to the 80s. It was actually pretty hot out when it was time to pick up Evan from school.

This morning Noah gave me a hard time getting ready and in the car for school.

I had my Pilates class and then did a quick trip to HEB before it was time to get Noah. He was in a good mood at pick up.

At Evan's pick up Noah was cranky.

Gabby came over and I tutored.

Morry gave the boys dinner and then we ate breakfast tacos when I got home.

The boys are in bed and I think they are sleeping. It's pretty quiet.
