Easter Sunday

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Again, with no sports, Rachel and I were able to sleep in.  When I got up, the boys were downstairs playing with Legos.

The boys and I played Super Mario Brothers on the Wii U.

Before lunch, we took the boys over to the Wildflower Park and they rode their scooters.  Noah used his old scooter, while Evan was using his new Razor scooter.  They also played some on the playground.

We came home and had lunch.

In the afternoon, I did work while the boys played with Legos and Grandmom's iPad and iPhone.

We went to dinner at the Genghis Grill which is a Mongolian barbecue.  It was pretty good.  It was our first time.  Noah ate pretty well.  Evan did ok.

We came home and put the boys to bed.

Until next time...

The Podbers

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This Saturday was the first Saturday since December that we were home and didn't have any game or practice for any sport.  Rachel and I used that time to sleep in.  It was nice not having anywhere that we had to be.

When I got up, Evan and Noah were downstairs playing with Grandmom and her iPad/iPhone.  They told me that Evan wanted another Lego.  The one he got yesterday was not really something you could play with after you built it.  I said Evan could get another one.

While Rachel ran on the treadmill, we went to the mall to go to the Lego store.  It was packed in the store, but Evan eventually picked out what he wanted.  On the way home, we picked up Wendy's for Grandmom and me.

At home, Evan and Noah started to build the Lego while we got lunch ready for them.

In the afternoon, I worked some while the boys played with Legos.

Around 4pm, Matt and his family all came over.  All seven of the Podbers were there.  As soon as they walked in, Evan ran over and gave Ben a hug.  Evan, Noah and Ben started playing with Legos and eventually went upstairs.  Tristian, Maddie, and Molly took Max outside.  Molly ended upstairs with Ben and Evan while Noah came downstairs.

For dinner, we went to Carino's.  Evan, Noah, Ben and Molly sat together.  There was lots and lots of laughing going on.  They all ate well.

We came home and the boys had dessert.  We're getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

No School Friday

This morning Morry and I had a meeting.

After we got home Grandmom took the boys to the mall to get Legos and lunch.

They worked most of the afternoon building their Legos.

For dinner Morry, Grandmom, Evan, and Noah went to Red Lobster.  The boys were good there and had 2 smoothies each.

We just got the boys ready for bed.  Morry's reading the 5 Little Gefiltes book to them now.

Busy Thursday

This morning I had a phone meeting and then Noah and I went to his gym class.  While Noah was in class I ran over to  Randalls to get some groceries.

After the Little Gym, Noah and Cole played on a playground behind the building for a little bit.

We came home and just as we were about to leave to get Evan from school Grandmom arrived.   Noah stayed at home with Grandmom while I got Evan.  Both boys were excited to see Grandmom.

Morry took Evan to baseball practice this afternoon and on the way home they pick up dinner at Hao Hao.

We ate, got the kids ready for bed, and Morry is reading to them now.

Sick Evan

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, I went in Evan's room to wake him up.  I brought the thermometer with me as he had a slight fever before bed last night.  I took his temperature and it was 101.  So I tucked him back in.  He ended up sleeping until 11am.  Last week was such a busy week.  He really need that extra sleep.  When he woke up, he didn't have a fever.

Papa and Grandma left around the time that Evan woke up.

Uncle Mike, Aunt Jen and Maya went out for lunch.  I picked up smoothies for Evan, Noah and me.  Evan said he wanted a smoothie.  I also went to Target to buy Wreck-It Ralph for Evan to watch while he laid down.  Hotel Transylvania was on sale so I picked that up for him too.

Evan and Noah both ate their smoothies and they relaxed and watched the two movies. I made popcorn for them during the second movie.

Around 4pm, Uncle Mike, Aunt Jen and Maya left for the airport.  At 4:45, I took Noah to the baseball field for his baseball game.  Rachel had to tutor, so Gabby came over the house.

Noah's team won again.  Noah played really well. His hitting is really improving.  Last Friday, he hit the ball harder than I have seen him hit it, though he hit it right at the shortstop who through him out.  Today, he was hitting the ball perfectly where the fielders were not.  He seems to really enjoy being out there.

When we got home, Evan told me he wanted dinner.  This was significant because he hadn't really wanted or asked for food since Friday night.  He didn't finish his dinner but he did eat, so that was good. I made dinner for Noah as well.

They are in bed now.

Until next time...

Noah stayed home, Evan played baseball

Hello everyone this is Morry.

This morning, I woke Evan up for school.  He went to bed with a very slight fever.  I took his temperature when I got him up and he didn't have a fever so I took him to school.  It was an unusually cold morning for Austin at this time of year - around 32 degrees.  The high was in the 60s though (again unusually low for the end of March)

When Noah woke up, he didn't want to go to school.  With Uncle Mike, Aunt Jen, Maya, Grandma and Papa here, Noah really wanted to stay home with everyone.  Perhaps he has senioritis or whatever you call it when he's nearing his pre-school graduation.  Rachel let him stay home.  Papa put together his Razor scooter for him.  Everyone went to pick Evan up from school.

Evan wasn't feeling 100% when he got home.  He didn't want to eat dinner before his game.  I took his temperature and it was normal.  I talked to Rachel and we decided he should go to his game.  Everyone was going to come see him play.  When we got there, I ran to the snack stand and bought him some candy called Sour Punch, cotton candy and a Powerade.  I figured he'd eat one of those things and get some sugar in him.  He ended up eating the Sour Punch.

I was not sure how the game would go, though Evan perked up being around his friends.  He ended up having a great game at the plate.  He hit a high pop up which, coming off his bat, looked like it was going pretty far, but only ended up going to the edge of the infield, just on the grass.  Unfortunately, the  shortstop caught it.  Even the coach came over to me and said he thought it was going farther.  In the next inning, Evan hit a ball really hard between short and third for a solid single.  It was a really hard hit ball.  In his last at-bat, he hit a line drive over second base for a single.  Considering he was definitely not 100% I was surprised at how hard he was hitting the ball.  He didn't get many chances in the field, but he did well when he got the ball, particularly when he was in right center.  With so many people coming to see him, he had a very loud cheering section.

We came home and Evan immediately went to bed.  Noah stayed up and I just put him to bed.  He got all the Fly Guy series of books from Zayde.  He was so excited and he read half of one to me before he asked me to finish it.

Until next time...

Early Passover

We had a long day today.

We decided to do a Passover seder a day early.  Since everyone was here in town and we has people coming from San Antonio, we figured the weekend was better for everyone.

We spent most of the day getting ready for tonight.

Noah went to a birthday party, but besides that we were at home.

We had a nice time tonight with all of the family here.

Here are some pictures.

Big Day - Sick Evan

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan had a very busy day today.  Today was the "opening day ceremony" for his baseball league.  I'm not sure why they waited 3 weeks into the season to have opening day.  Noah's team decided not to participate in the festivities, but Evan's team participated.  We got out to the field a bit after 9am.  It was really gray this morning and humid with a temperature in the low 50s.  It seemed really cold considering it's been in the 80s and 90s all week long.  Evan seemed to have fun with his buddies as they ran in when their team was announced.

We came home for about an hour and a half.  Noah was busy playing with Maya, Uncle Mike and Aunt Jen.  It was then that Evan seemed to not be totally himself.  Looking back he was a little more clingy to me at the ceremony, but at the time I didn't think much about it.  When Evan was cranky at home, I thought it was because he hadn't eaten.  Sometimes he goes a while without eating and he gets very cranky and he doesn't realize it's because he's hungry.  So I try to give him food only to have him turn it down.  Finally when he does eat, he gets back to his normal self.  He fought me on eating until we had to leave for his team pictures.  I brought some stuff in the car but he really didn't eat it.  I told him I'd take him to McDonald's after the pictures.

After pictures, we drove over to McDonald's but he wouldn't really eat that food. I was having him eat in the car on the way back to the field for his game.  He wasn't acting good and at first didn't want to play but he changed his mind and did want to play.  I had Rachel come to the field with Tylenol.  I got him a Sprite and filled him with as much water as I could because the day turned hot.

He played the entire game which went 6 innings.  He was catcher in three of the innings.  One inning I walked him out to the position holding his helmet while he was drinking.  Then another time I ran out with water as the inning ended.  He didn't have a very good game, not surprisingly, but I think he impressed people with his push to play.  He should have got a fly ball in right center.  He judged it perfectly and was right there but somehow dropped it.  I bet he would have had it if he had felt better.  Noah's coach, Mario, who was Evan's coach last year came out for some of the game to watch Evan.  It was nice.  Unfortunately he picked a bad game.

When we got home, I took Evan's temperature and he had a fever.  He laid down on my side of the bed and I put the tv on for him.  He did sleep some.

Uncle Mike, Aunt Jen, and Maya left for a wedding in the late afternoon.  That's the reason they are in town.  Noah stayed downstairs with Grandma and Papa.

For dinner, we had Johnny Carino's takeout.

Noah ate his dinner but Evan didn't eat.  He laid on the couch and watched the Lorax.

Evan is now in bed and Noah is in his room, but he's playing with his computer.

Until next time...

Maya, Maya!

This morning Noah was happy to go to school because they were going to have an Easter egg hunt.

While he was at school I got stuff done around the house.

I picked up Noah and was home for just a little bit before it was time for me to go tutor.

Morry and Noah picked up Evan and then went to the Book Fair at school.

I got home around 4:30 and Morry and the boys left for Noah's game.

Grandma and Papa arrived and then we went to Noah's game.

While we were at the game, Michael, Jen, and Maya got to our house.

Noah had a good game.

On they way home we stopped and picked up Torchy's for dinner.

The boys (and Grandma and Papa) were very excited to see Maya.  They really enjoyed playing with her and making her laugh.

Soon, we'll put the boys to bed.

Here are some videos and a picture.

Around the house

This morning Noah and I stayed at home and I set up the new Wii for him.  That took a while.  There was a lot of set up steps you had to go through.

We went to the Little Gym for Noah's class  He had fun.

We ate lunch when we got home and then I cleaned the rest of the afternoon.

We got Evan from school and the boys played at home together this afternoon.

Morry took Evan to his baseball practice and they got home around 7:30.  We fed the boys and made our food, but we haven't eaten yet.  We'll put the boys to bed and then eat.

Noah Bear is 5!

Today is Noah's 5th birthday.  Noah has been really exited about his birthday.  He was in a great mood this morning and couldn't wait to get to school.

After I dropped him off I went to a therapy massage, then to Walmart to get a pinata, and Sams Club to get cupcakes.

I came to Noah's class after lunch with cupcakes and little sherbet cups for the kids.

Noah and I came home for a little bit.  He enjoyed filling the pinata with candy.

Gabby came over and I left to tutor.

When Morry got home he shortly left with the boys to go to Noah's baseball game.

I met them at Noah's game after my tutoring.

Noah had a good game.  They won.  After the game we passed out baseball cupcakes to the kids and had them hit the pinata.

From there, we went Logan's Roadhouse for dinner.   That was Noah's choice.  The kids were good at dinner.

At home, Noah and Evan opened presents, since the ones we had were for both kids.  They loved all of their gifts.

They are now ready for  bed and in their rooms, but not asleep yet.
