Oasis
This morning, we had someone come by the house to look at some of the kids books we are going to be selling at the garage sale. They ended up buying some books.
After that, Rachel took Evan and Noah to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's.
When the everyone got home, we had another person come to the house. They bought some baby clothes as well as some books.
The boys cleaned up and then the boys and I sat down and watched Uncle Buck. They really enjoyed the movie.
We went to the Oasis for dinner and dancing. The band, The Brew, was playing. Rachel used to go see them play when she was in college and Rachel and I would go see them at the Oasis when we were dating. It has been quite some time since we saw them play on a Sunday night. It was very crowded and we had to squeeze in at table meant for two people. A very nice older couple sat next to us and helped us with things. The older man was a World War II Vet. Rachel and I danced a bit and Evan and Rachel danced. The boys, especially Evan, ate well. Evan ate these things called Chicken Fireballs which were spicy chicken nuggets and he had salmon. Noah had beef fajitas. At the break, the band member that Rachel was closest to came over to say hello and talk to us.
On the way home, we stopped at Grandma and Papa's to put the trash and recycling cans out.
The boys are getting ready for bed now.
Until next time...

Outdoors
First, we went to someone's house to buy some books for the boys. We have a neighborhood Facebook group where people post things they want to sell. This woman was selling a bunch of her sons books that he no longer reads. The kids loved the house. Not for the books, but for the animals. She rescues animals, mostly cats. There were quite a few cats walking around that the kids played with. We picked out a few books and then left.
Next, we met Morry at Wholy Bagel.
From there, we went to Half Price Books. I filled up 3 bags with our old books. I wanted to see if we could get any money for them and the boys wanted to pick out some books too. I ended get a little bit of money for our stuff. The boys picked out a few Garfield and Calvin and Hobbes books.
Then, we went on a hike/swim. We went to the Barton Creek Greenbelt. It's a long system of various trails and the stream. We walked about 1/2 mile to the stream, that was pretty full and busy. The boys had a great time playing in the water and swinging off a rope. Then we did a little more walking around and found a nice spot with a bridge/deck. We hung out there for a little bit too.
We got home mid afternoon and both boys fell asleep. They almost never take naps.
We had to wake them up so we could pick up some dinner.
We go Subway for the boys and Via 313 pizza for us.
We ate at home and now the boys are getting ready for bed.
Here are some pictures from today.

Last Day of Vacation
The boys stayed at home today watching TV, enjoying their last day of vacation. I went to HEB, but they didn't want to come with me.
For dinner we had Sprite chicken and cornbread.
The boys are ready for bed. Noah is on his computer. Evan is watching a few more minutes of the football game and then we'll put them to bed.

Full Day
This morning both boys were up around 7:30am. I’m not sure why Noah got up so early.
After I dropped Evan off at school Noah and I went to the gym. Noah cried when I dropped him off in the child care so I stuck around a while and then left for my dance jam class.
After the gym Noah and I went to HEB. We had a lot of stuff to buy. Noah was good and enjoyed eating his apple while I was shopping.
After that we went to drop off Morry’s suit for dry cleaning.
When we got home I gave Noah lunch and quickly put away the groceries. Then it was time to get Evan.
At home I let the boys play in the backyard for a little bit while I made my lunch and made a smoothie for all of us.
I put Noah down for a nap and he slept a while.
Blanca came at 4:15 and I tutored my last student for the semester.
For dinner we had grilled chicken marinated in Garlic Expressions, corn on the cob, and sourdough bread.
After dinner we all went to Half Price Books. Morry wanted some books for our trip and the boys each picked out books. I got some other kids books for them as well.
Evan and Noah are now in bed and it seems to be quiet.

Library
We ate lunch and then got Evan.
I had some checks and cash to deposit from my tutoring so we went to the bank. This time I just drove up to the teller window. It takes so long to deposit the checks individually at the ATM and last time a check got eaten. It was a pain dealing with that. Anyway, I deposited the money and then we went to the library.
Evan and Noah had a good time playing in the kids section of the library. We picked out some books and movies.
When we got home I put the boys down for naps. Noah slept until Blanca got here at 4:00. Evan slept until 5:00.
I tutored 3 students and came home at 8:00.
Before bed, we started having Evan help clean up. He’s still not doing so great. He pretends he can’t clean up. Tonight he was holding a basketball in one hand and was pretending he couldn’t open his other hand wide enough to pick up the train tracks. He’s such an actor. I asked him a few times to put the wooden train tracks away. Eventually, I picked them up and told him he couldn’t play with them for a while. We said we’d keep them in the garage for a while since he wouldn’t clean them up.
The boys are in bed now. Evan went to bed without a fight tonight. Hope that continues.

Lots of tutoring
I took Noah and Evan to the library this morning. They have a storytime there on Wednesdays at 10:15. I thought we would try it out. Neither of the boys seemed very interested in the librarian. They were more interested in the other kids and books. Noah kept trying to crawl over to someone else’s stroller that was next to us. He just wanted to play with the wheels. After the storytime we picked out a few books and a kid’s airplane movie to bring home.
For lunch I made quesadillas for Evan and cut gingerbread man shapes out of them hoping Evan would eat them. No such luck. Noah ate a lot of little pieces of quesadilla for both lunch and dinner. At least the quesadillas went in someone’s belly.
At 1:30 Blanca arrived and the homeschool Algebra II student came over and stayed until 4:00. Well, he actually stayed a little past 4:00. I told his mom I had to leave the house by 4:00 to meet another student, but for some reason she couldn’t get there in time. At least Blanca was in the house to wait with him until his mom came. At 4:30, I tutored another student for an hour.
I got home around 6:00. We ate chicken and rice soup I made earlier in the day and some leftovers from the other nights. Evan didn’t eat much, but Noah ate a lot ( like always). Noah had his cereal mix, baby food jar, quesadillas, tomatoes, a few pieces of ham, banana, and dried fruit.
After dinner I made cranberry apple crisp. I was in the mood for it. We’ll eat some in a few minutes when I get off the computer.
Evan and Noah are in bed, but it still sounds like they are still awake. Both have runny noses now… it looks like another cold is coming. ugh
