Thanksgiving Photos

This morning we walked Noah to school and then I left for work.

Morry had a meeting, so we did not meet for lunch today.

He got home in time to walk to pick up Noah from school.

Shortly after Evan got home I left to tutor.

Evan went over to Grandma and Papa's for dinner tonight.

When I got home we walked to pick up Evan.

Then, we ate dinner at home.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving.

Bruce Ruffin

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Chewie woke up about an hour before our alarms.  Rachel took him out and then fed the animals.

After walking Noah to school, Rachel laid back down before leaving for school.

I worked from home for a while and then took the van in to get an oil change and inspection.

When Rachel and I picked Noah up from school, the kids were really giving Chewie attention.  Two girls didn't want to leave Chewie.  One girl was saying that she's told her mom about Chewie.

Evan had baseball practice today.  TRPD got a new pitching coach.  The coach is a guy named Bruce Ruffin.  He played 11 years in the majors 6 years with the Phillies.  I remember when he got called up to the majors when I was a kid.  I know I saw him pitch many times in person.  It was surreal watching him work with Evan.

Until next time...

A Night at Home

This morning we walked to school and I left for work shortly after we got back home.

After my class was done, I met some friends at Alamo Drafthouse to see A Bad Moms Christmas.  We had a nice time.

When I got home I went for a short run.

Then, Morry and I walked to get Noah from school.

Noah went to Grandma and Papa's house right after school.

Tonight we had nothing going on.  There was no baseball and I didn't have to tutor.  That's unusual.

After walking to pick up Noah from Grandma and Papa's house, we ate dinner at home.  We had some leftovers from the freezer.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Vacation is Over

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The vacation is over.  Rachel had to go back to work and the boys had to go back to school.  I worked most of last week though I was off on Thursday and Friday.

Chewie got to meet Lizzy's friend, Tucker this morning.  Chewie and Tucker got along very well.  Unless the other dog is mean, Chewie gets along with all dogs.

Rachel and I went to Camp Gladiator together this morning.  It was the first time we were there together since before Rachel got hurt.

When I got home, Chad came over to work with me.  Chad is part of Touch To and he's working on the HomeAway stuff as well.  He lives in South Austin so we thought it would be good for us to work together.

He had heard me talk about Wholy Bagel quite a bit so we went there for lunch.

We worked until I had to pick Noah up from school.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.

I took Evan to the catcher's course around dinner time.  We stopped at Dick's and got Evan a new catcher's mitt.

We all ate dinner together when we got home.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Enchanted Rock

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Rachel and the boys left the house on the early side.  They went to Grandma and Papa's house and all of them (including Uncle Mike, Aunt Jen, Maya and Artie) drove in two cars to Enchanted Rock.  It's a hiking spot not too far from Fredericksburg, TX.  It took about an hour and a half to get there.  They hiked to the summit and stayed at the summit for a bit and then hiked down.  After that, they drove into Fredericksburg, had lunch and stopped and got dessert on the way home.

I worked from home for a while in the morning and then drove into HomeAway for a meeting.  After the meeting, we went to lunch.

I came home and did some more work before Rachel and the boys got home.

Before dinner, we went to Randall's to get some stuff for Thanksgiving.  We also got some ready-made food for dinner.

We ate dinner while watching Stranger Things.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

The Last Week

It has been a busy week.

Morry went to Tucson from Tuesday to Friday last week.

On Saturday, we took it easy.  We went for a short hike with Chewie.

On Sunday, we did the Dog Jog.

Michael, Jen, Maya, and Artie got in around 6:30pm last night and we all had dinner together at Grandma and Papa's house.

This morning, I went to Camp Gladiator.

Later, the boys and I met Grandma, Maya, and Artie at the school playground.

Then, I went back home and Evan and Noah hung out with everyone the rest of the day.    They ate at Torchy's Tacos, played mini golf at Peter Pan, and got Amy's Ice Cream.

For dinner, Michael and Jen cooked for everyone.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Goliad and Popular Chewie

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Noah had a field drip to Goliad, TX to see the mission there and the state park.  He had to be at school at 6:20 and they took charter buses down.  Rachel got up early with Noah and took him to school.

Chewie didn't get to go for a walk this morning since we didn't have to walk Noah to school.

Rachel left to go teaching a bit later and I went into HomeAway for a meeting.

Noah wasn't supposed to get back until 5pm, so there was no afternoon walk either.

Shortly after Evan got home, I took him to baseball practice.

Rachel brought Chewie to school to pick Noah up when the buses dropped him off.  Chewie was very popular.  All the kids ran over to pet him.  Rachel said that he was so happy with all the attention, he didn't want to leave.

Evan and I stopped at Pho Thaison on the way home and got dinner.  We ate and watched Stranger Things.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Mid Week

Today we walked to school like usual.

I was planning on running this morning after dropping off Noah but it started drizzling.

I left for school around 9:15am and got back about 2:30.  During my lunch break, I went to HEB and picked up a few things.  It turns out Morry stopped at HEB on his way home from his haircut, so now we have plenty of bananas and cheese.  :)

We walked to get Noah at school.

A little while after Evan got home, Morry and Evan went to baseball practice.

They got home around 7:15 and we had chicken for dinner.

Evan is finishing his homework and soon the boys will get ready for bed.

Election Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The temperature today was warmest on our walk with Noah to school.  Since then it's been slowly getting colder.

I worked from home all day.  Rachel was teaching.

Around lunch time I went and voted.  There was a big school bond package that I wanted to make sure got passed, as well as a county bond package that will build a park closer to us with baseball fields.  It looks like both have passed.

Noah went to Grandma and Papa's after school.

Evan got home and shortly afterward, Rachel left to tutor.

For dinner, Evan and I got slices of pizza at Jersey Giant Pizza.  Then we went to a hitting lesson.  Evan is working on trying to hit breaking balls.  He has struggled with that a bit the last two weekends.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Full Weekend

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This weekend, we were in Houston for a baseball tournament.  Evan and I went down on Friday night.  Rachel and Noah joined us on Friday afternoon.

Evan had two baseball games on Saturday.  He ended the day 0-1 with an RBI (on a sacrifice fly), two runs scored, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch.  He played catcher for most of the day and did very well.  He also played some first base.  His team won both games and got the #2 seed in the tournament.

All the families went out to lunch for wings and watched college football.  Then we went back to the hotel and the boys all went swimming.

Noah had two flag football games.  Well he had one game and if they won, they would play later in the day in the "Super Bowl".  Noah's team won both games and Noah was instrumental in both wins.  He pulled a bunch of flags, pressured the quarterback into throwing an interception and had several big runs.  On one, he told me, he thought he was going to score but his flag got pulled at the last minute.

When Noah and Rachel got down, Noah immediately started hanging out with Evan and his team.

We all went out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

Yesterday, Evan's first game was not until 2pm.  For brunch, we went to Katz's Deli.

Evan's team won a very tight game.  Games are timed.  They are one hour and 40 minutes.  Once time has expired, you finish the inning.  Evan's team was the home team.  With time expired, the other team was batting.  They ended up tying the game after a very long inning.  That meant Evan's team got a chance to bat before going into extra innings.  With two outs, a boy walked.  Took second on a passed ball, stole third, and then scored on a wild pitch.  The game went 2 hours and 10 minutes long.  Evan played third base in the game even though he hasn't played it much.  He did very well.  I wonder if he'll end up playing there more often.

The second game didn't go so well.  The boys on the other team all looked much older.  It's hard for me to believe they were the right age.  We probably should have asked for birth certificates.  All-in-all though, the team played very well this weekend and they should be proud.  Evan walked 4 times this weekend and has walked 8 times in the last two weekends.  I don't know what his on base percentage is but it has to be high.

Until next time...

Halloween 2017

Yesterday we did our usual walk to and from school.

I taught and then had a brunch at a friend's house.

We ate a very early dinner at home and started trick-or-treating a little before 6pm.   It had been raining earlier in the day, but luckily, stopped when it was time to go out.  We took Chewie with us and everyone had a good time.

It started raining as it got later, but the boys wanted to keep going.  Around 8:30 we were about to head home and then it started pouring rain.  We had to run home.  We were a few blocks away from home and got soaked.  Chewie thought that was the best thing ever!

Today, it was back to our normal busy Wednesday schedule.

Since Noah didn't have dinner with Grandma and Papa last night he went over there tonight.

I tutored.  Evan had baseball practice.

We all got home around 7pm.

We have leftovers for dinner.

Now Evan is watching the World Series and Noah is in bed.

Here are some pictures from Halloween.
