A Better Day

Last night Evan slept in his own room. He slept until 7:45am when Dingo’s barking woke him up. I called and left another message for them today about their barking dog. They never called back after the last 2 messages we left.

Evan was good this morning. I think it was because he was well rested. He got dressed without a fight and was happy to go to school.

At school this morning they were celebrating Miss Mai’s birthday. They had donuts for the kids and parents. Evan picked a sprinkled donut, of course. He ate about half of it and then gave the rest to Noah. Noah was in heaven. He made a big mess and I had to clean him off at the sink.

After dropping of Noah we had to go to my doctor for a quick blood test (thyroid).

At home, I did some cleaning. Noah and I ate lunch and then picked up Evan.

The kids were out on the playground when it was time for pick-up. Evan was very excited to see Noah out there and wanted to show him the playground.

When we got home I put Evan and Noah down naps. Noah went to sleep right away. Evan was at his door for maybe 30 minutes and then he said he wanted to watch a movie. I got a movie set up for him and went back downstairs to get some stuff done. Michael called. He had just gotten to the Austin airport and was on his way over. I went upstairs a few minutes later to check on Evan and let him know that Uncle Mike was on his way. Evan was asleep on the couch in the game room. He slept there for about 1.5 – 2 hours.

When Michael got here Noah was just getting up from his nap. Noah was a little shy at first, but then he just ran over and gave Michael a big hug.

Evan got up from his nap and we played downstairs and then I made dinner. Morry had a dinner meeting.

Evan and Noah ate good dinners and then Michael took them to play in the backyard so that I could finish my dinner and clean up.

Michael’s dinner plans ended up falling through so he picked up some Taco Bueno and ate it here.

Evan and Noah are both in Noah’s room now. There’s still some talking/playing going on in there. If it goes on much longer we’ll have to separate them.

School and The Lake

Evan and Noah eventually fell asleep in Noah’s room last night and slept through the night. Unfortunately, we were woken up by Dingo (the neighbor’s dog) at around 6am this morning. Dingo had also been barking Sunday morning and Morry left a message for them then. I called again at 6 this morning and left another message. This is really annoying! We later found out they are out of town until Saturday.

Evan woke up a little after 7am. He got to say goodbye to Grandmom.

By the time I got Evan to school it was almost 10am. We had a hectic morning. For some reason Evan decided to poop in his pull-up while he was in our room while I was getting dressed. It was a mess and was not all contained in the pull-up. I had to just hose him off in the shower.

After we dropped Evan off at school, Noah, Lizzy, and I went to walk around the lake. Noah and Lizzy seemed to enjoy it. Lizzy got to go swimming a little.

We got home had lunch and then it was pretty much time to pick Evan up at school.

Evan was very happy to see me and hugged me. Patricia (one of the teachers) said he did well today and was very loving. She said he hugged her and said “I love you” to her.

After a little fight, I got both boys down for naps in their separate rooms. They slept a really long time.

Blanca came over at 3:30 and Evan and Noah were still sleeping when Morry got home after 5pm.

I tutored 4 students tonight. While I was gone Morry and the boys went to Chick-fil-A for dinner.

I got home about 8:45 and both Evan and Noah were awake and still playing in Noah’s room. In fact, it’s 9:36pm now and they are still talking and Evan playing with his Buzz doll. I hear a lot of machine gun sounds in there.

McDonalds

This morning Evan came in our room at 6:45am. Morry got Evan set up and went back to sleep for a little bit. I was able to sleep in this morning. Morry took care of the boys and let me rest some.

For lunch, we took the boys to McDonalds. Morry said they had been really good this morning. Also, we didn’t feel like making lunch.

Evan and Noah did really well at McDonalds. Evan ate his nuggets, the apples, cookies, and apple juice. Noah just ate a few French fries and some apples. After we ate we went outside on the playground. Every time Evan disappeared in one of the tunnels, Noah would call out for him. There was another boy there a few years older than Evan. Evan followed the boy around everywhere.

When we got home we put they boys down for naps. They both slept well.

For dinner we had Asian pasta. Evan ate some macaroni and cheese. Noah ate a little bit of mac and cheese.

After dinner Morry took Evan and Noah outside in the backyard while I cleaned up. While they were out there Evan hit the baseball over the fence into our neighbor’s yard (Dingo’s family). Morry took the boys over to their house to get the ball back. Morry said when they went in their backyard Evan ran over and started playing on their playscape. And when they walked through the house Evan wanted to touch and see everything.

Evan and Noah are upstairs in their rooms, but neither one is asleep yet.

Dentist

This morning both boys woke up early for some reason.

Morry worked from home today since I had a dentist appointment.

In the morning, after breakfast I went for a run with Evan and Noah in the stroller and Lizzy on the leash. I ran 3 miles again. It was tough. While I was running I saw a loose dog. As we got closer I thought it looked like Dingo, our next door neighbor’s barking dog. I couldn’t do anything since I had the boys and Lizzy with me, so I told Morry about it when I got home. We looked in the neighbors yard and Morry even knocked on the fence, but we didn’t see Dingo. Morry drove back to the spot (pretty far from our house) but didn’t see him. There really wasn’t much more we could do.

I had a 12:00 dentist check-up appointment. Morry fed the boys lunch and watched them while I was gone.

When I got home I put Evan and Noah down for a nap and was able to nap a little until I was woken by dog barking. I guess somehow Dingo made it home or he was never really gone in the first place.

Morry had a Capitol City Young Democrats meeting tonight at 6:00, so I got dinner ready while he was gone. When he got home around 7:30 we ate our pasta and soup.

Evan and Noah are in bed now, though Noah is still up. He’s playing with his bear. Noah has this musical teddy bear Aunt Susan got him when he was a little baby. Noah loves that doll and sometimes we’ll hear him playing with it in the middle of the night.
