Tutoring and Nice Weather

This morning we took it easy at home and then went to Noah's class at the Little Gym.

After the Little Gym Noah went to Cole's house and Evan came with me to tutoring.  I finished tutoring a little early and Evan was good, so we stopped at Rita's.  Evan got an Italian ice with half mango and half cherry.

We picked up Noah from home and then the boys played outside in the backyard.  The weather was great toady.  It was in the 70s and sunny.

For dinner we had leftover tacos from last night.

We went for a walk and the kids had Jello for dessert.

We are getting them ready for bed now.

Noah's 4th Birthday

Noah was in a good mood today.

We kept asking him what he wanted to do today and he would just say, "I don't know." We gave him a few suggestions. He finally decided he wanted to have lunch at McDonalds.

We had an appointment at Wonders and Worries at 10am, which Noah was looking forward to. He enjoyed it there and then we met Morry at McDonalds. Morry and I didn't want to eat there so we just ordered food for Noah. Noah ate some there and then we went to Brugger's Bagels nearby so Morry and I could eat lunch. We sat outside to eat and Noah finished his food there.

After lunch we went to Rita's Italian Ice and all got water ice (as Morry calls it). It happened to be free as a First Day of Spring promotion they were having.

We went home and Noah was happy just sitting and watching tv. His stomach was bothering him and I think that's part of why he didn't want to do anything.

I got Evan from school and we went to the book fair. Evan picked out two books. He got Pete the Cat and some other book about space.

At home the boys were happy playing wii and Leapster and just hanging out.

Noah said he wanted to eat at home for dinner. Morry picked up Little Caesars for the boys and Blue Bamboo for us.

After dinner we played in the cul-de-sac for a little bit.

The boys are finishing up their baths now and then we'll put them to bed.

Farmer's Market

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Noah woke up in the middle of the night last night. At first he was crying that he had to pee and then he was crying that he wanted his door opened. His door wasn't full closed and he can open it himself, there's nothing stopping him. His gate was open already. And he can leave his room and get us if he needs help going to the bathroom. Rachel and I have decided he needs we will not give into these demands. If he wants to come in our room and ask us without whining or crying, we will help him. This went on for an hour or so. I do think he eventually went to the bathroom, or at least opened the door himself. His pull-up was dry this morning.

The boys got up and played in the game room some. Then Rachel got up and went for a run while I continued cleaning up the office upstairs and getting all my computer equipment set up. I'm just about finished.

Then we went to the Sunset Valley Farmer's Market. It didn't seem to be as big as it has been other times we went. It could have something to do with the high being around 103 degrees. We walked around and looked at the produce. We saw a demonstration of a screen printing (using all natural ink) on a t-shirt. Then we got water ice for the boys. Noah and I each got an all natural grass fed beef hot dog. It was pretty good. It was kind of spicy but Noah ate all of his. Then each boy picked out their own sweet bell pepper.

We got home and Rachel made lunch for herself and cut up the peppers for the boys. Evan ate his entire pepper.

After lunch, Evan and I went to a birthday party for a boy from his tee ball team. It was at the Little Gym where Evan used to have his sports class. He seemed to have a really good time. I had a good time talking to the dads.

When we got home, Noah not napping. Noah ended up playing in the game room with GeoTrax and Evan watched TV downstairs.

Gabby came over at 6:30 to babysit for the boys. Rachel and I drove up to the Domain and ate at a restaurant called Gloria's. We walked around a bit there and listened to a live band.

When we got home, Evan was still up. He wanted me to read a book to him. We finished the second Harry Potter book last night. I found my old copy of Mr. Popper's Penguins. I told Evan I would read that to him next. He has wanted to go see the movie. The funny thing about that book is I wrote my name in it - in first grade. So my handwriting was very child-like. It's amazing because Evan is almost that same age. It's kind of crazy.

Noah is sleeping. Let's hope he sleeps through the whole night.

Noah's Third Birthday

TODAY IS NOAH'S BIRTHDAY! It's hard to believe it was 3 years ago today we were at the hospital meeting little Noah.

This morning the boys slept in a little bit.

For brunch we went to Waterloo. The boys played on the playground while we waited for our food. They shared a waffle and fruit and both ate very well. It was a successful meal.

Then, we went to Locomotion, an indoor play place. They have inflatables and then different rooms where kids can pretend to do different things. We all had fun. Evan and Noah were pretty worn out by the end.

We gave Noah a choice between Italian Ice (Water Ice) and smoothies. He picked Italian ice. We went to Rita's on campus and it happened to be free Italian ice day, so we all got a free cup. While we were waiting in line Morry found out the guy behind us went to his same high school a few years after Morry was there. Small world.

We came home and gave the boys their birthday presents from us. They got air hockey and Foosball tables. We bought them from our neighbor who had a garage sale. We had been looking for an air hockey table and when I did a search on Craigslist a few days ago I saw our next door neighbors were having a garage sale and selling those items.

The boys played with all of their new toys for a little bit and played outside.

For dinner we went to Spaghetti Warehouse.

We put the boys to bed a while ago, but both are still awake and playing in their rooms.
