Lauren’s Shower

Today we had Lauren’s bridal shower. This morning Sherah and Aunt Susan came early to help out.

The shower started at 11:30am. Everything went smoothly and the food was really good.

Papa took Morry, Evan, and Noah to the airport.

We hung out at the house during the afternoon. Leah, David, Sam/Jay, and Hollis came over for a little bit. They happened to be in town so they stopped by the house.

For dinner, we had Rudy’s at the house and had leftover salad and desserts.

It has been a really long day. It was a nice day, but we are all really exhausted.

Here are the pictures from today.

Busy Keeps On Coming

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today was another busy day. I went to work around 7am. Evan got up around 7:30 and Noah got up around 9. Rachel continued to try to get the house ready for her cousin, Lauren's bridal shower at our house.

At 11:30, Gabby came over as Rachel needed to run out to get her hair fixed up a bit. She also had to drop something off at Evan and Noah's school for admission. Yes, in just 3 weeks, Noah will be going to school too and we had to drop his paperwork off.

Before Rachel left, she set up a slip-n-slide for the boys. Rachel got it at Target yesterday for two dollars. Here are some pictures:

Around mid-afternoon, Papa, Grandma and Bubbe came to the house. They are in for the shower.

When I got home, the boys were having a good time playing Superman with Grandma and having a pillow fight with Papa.

Rachel and her mom started planning out appetizers for the party tomorrow. Rachel had to talk on the phone with Sherah to do more planning.

For dinner, we went out to BJ's. The boys did well there. Evan ate his entire pizza and had two cups of strawberry lemonade. Noah ate some spaghetti and some of Bubbe's chicken. Bubbe entertained Noah by just giving him attention. Noah is such an attention hog.

When we got home, Grandma and Papa gave the boys baths while Rachel and I packed the boys. Then we put them to bed.

Since then Rachel and her family have been getting things set up. I continued to pack all of us.

Oh and here is a picture of Evan from Wednesday as we were driving to Matt and Rachael's. He had borrowed a Batman mask from Nolan, but decided to wear sunglasses over it:

Until next time..

Another busy one

This morning we needed to go to HEB before Evan’s school. They were having a party at his school and we signed up to bring bread and jelly. It took forever for us to get out of the house. Evan kept coming up with excuses. It was really frustrating. We quickly stopped in HEB and then went to Evan’s school.

After dropping Evan off Noah and I went to Target. I had heard Target was having a big toy clearance sale and we needed a few other things as well. We got quite a few good deals on toys. I stocked up for birthday parties. Noah was kind of a pain. He got upset when I wouldn’t buy certain toys.

After Target I dropped Noah off at Alena’s house for a little bit.

Later I picked up Evan at school and then Noah at Alena’s house.

When we got home I put Noah down for a nap.

When Morry got home we got ready to go to dinner. We were meeting Matt, Rachael, their kids, Aunt Jane, and Uncle Normal at Hula Hut. We got there a little late because traffic was really bad. Dinner was nice, but I sat next to Noah. He really demands a lot of attention.

We just put the boys to bed, but they are still awake.

We still have a lot to do tonight. We need to get ready for the shower this weekend, pack for our trip, and fold a ton of laundry.

Day of Cousins

This morning both boys got up somewhat early. I spent the morning cleaning up more. Evan watched as I made my bed and Noah’s bed. He said he wanted to make his own bed. He was very proud of himself. Here are a few pictures.

Also, lately Evan likes to style his own hair. He'll get his hair wet in the sink and then comb it. This morning I saw him helping Noah style his hair too. Very cute!

Sherah, JW, Nolan, and Court came over around 12. They picked up pizza from Little Caesars. Evan and Noah were so excited when they got here. The boys played very well together. After eating Sherah and I took Noah and Court party shopping. We went to Party City and Walmart to find some things for Lauren’s shower.

When we got home Noah was pretty tired so I put him down for a nap. They left pretty soon after.

Morry took Mottel to the vet today for a check up. Mottel has been shedding more than usual and they think it’s from his steroids, so they are lowering the dosage hoping to get him off them completely in a few months.

For dinner we went to Boston Market and then went to Matt and Rachael’s house for Rachael’s shower. We brought the kids with us. The men watched tv and the kids played upstairs mostly during the shower. At one point Noah was with the men and was eating grapes on a plate on the floor (there was no table in the room). Noah was jumping around and somehow tripped and ending falling and sitting right on the plate of grapes and smooshed them. Everyone thought it was pretty funny, even Noah.

We got home around 10pm and put the boys to bed. It has been a long day.

Going Going Going

Today was a busy day. I got a lot done.

I dropped Evan off at school and then took Noah and Lizzy for a run. I ran about 2 miles.

When we got home I started really cleaning the house. Lauren’s (my cousin) shower is this weekend at our house and we will be having a lot of people staying here.

Around lunch time I heard the garage door open. I was a little worried at first, but then Morry and Dmitriy walked in the door. Morry wanted to bring Dmitriy over to show him how to give Mottel his medicine. They only stayed a few minutes.

I cleaned more and then Noah had lunch and I made a smoothie for the 2 of us.

We went and got Evan and came back home. Evan and Noah played in the backyard while I cleaned more in the kitchen. I could see and hear them through the window.

Then, I took the boys upstairs on the patio and gave them haircuts. They insisted on taking off their shirts so they got hair all over their bodies. I gave them baths after the haircuts and then put Noah down for a nap.

I was finally able to eat lunch. Evan watched TV.

For dinner we had some leftover chicken I found in the freezer. We had couscous to go with it and I also had a salad.

We just put the boys to bed. They both seem a lot better today in terms of their colds. Noah’s nose is not as runny today and Evan was hardly coughing.

First Haircutb

This morning Gabby came over and 9:15 and then I went to get my hair cut. My hair was starting to look bushy and out of control. It was my first after chemo haircut.

After that I tutored 3 students all at the same house.

I got home about 2:30 and put Noah down for a nap right after Gabby left. The plan was to go to Jodie’s house for a playgroup at 4:00. Noah had been a little snotty today, so I wanted to wait and see how he was after his nap. I wasn’t sure if it was allergies or a cold. Noah was kind of cranky after his nap. His nose wasn’t running too bad, but I didn’t want to risk him getting anyone sick.

When Morry came home we started making pasta for a dinner. Morry and the boys had egg noodles and I had cheese tortellini.

After dinner we went to Office Depot to buy a printer. We saw in the paper that Office Depot would take $50 off the price if you brought in your old printer. We had an extra printer upstairs that we got for free a few years ago when we bought our laptop. We called ahead and they said they would take it. So, we all headed over to Office Depot. While Morry was dealing with the printer stuff I walked around the store with the boys. We saw a section with backpacks and lunchboxes. We ended up buying Spiderman lunchboxes, a Toy Story backpack for Noah, and a Tranformers backpack for Evan. They needed lunchboxes for school anyway and we had talked about getting Evan a new backpack.

We got home a little while ago and put the kids to bed.

Right now, Evan is out of his room arguing with Morry in the kitchen. Evan wants to put his lunch in his new lunchbox now and is arguing with Morry about it. Evan keeps saying he doesn’t want his lunch cold tomorrow. Now he’s arguing that he wants his “suitcase” (backpack) in his room.

Errands

This morning Evan woke up early. A little before 7am he came in our room. I set him up with tv in the game room and then went back to sleep for a little bit.

Once Noah was up we all got up and got dressed and had breakfast.

We had some errands to run today. First, we went to Sams Club. We spent a while there and got some good deals. Evan and Noah were good, so we got them a soft pretzel and ICEE to share.

After Sams we went to Office Depot. We wanted to look at printers. Evan and Noah were getting into everything and touching all of the printer buttons. It was very hard trying to keep an eye on them and check out printers.

We came home and ate lunch. While the boys were eating I vacuumed upstairs.

Noah took a nap while Evan watched TV.

For dinner Morry made fried matzoh for him and the boys. I had a salad and egg sandwich.

After dinner we took a walk.

When we came back home we gave Evan and Noah baths and then put them to bed.
