Baseball and Basketball
The Marauders were in a tournament today. Evan also had a basketball tournament. Unfortunately, based on the distance between the two it did not seem like we'd have enough time to get to the basketball game if he played in the second baseball game. So we decided Evan would play one baseball game and then go to basketball.
In the first Marauders game, the team did not play very well. Evan led of the game with a single and later scored. He caught a pop up playing shortstop. Later in the game he caught a line drive and tagged second for an unassisted double play. They have moved Evan to play mostly second and he's been playing really there. His play seems to have elevated at second.
Rachel, Noah, Zayde took Evan to his basketball game. He was acting very tired and apparently hungry but he refused food. The only thing they could convince him to eat was a slushie from Sonic.
I stayed and pitched for the Marauders in the second game. Unfortunately, it was a bit more of the same in terms of the team not playing well.
I left and got to the basketball game. They were running really behind so I only missed 5 minutes of the first basketball game. It was a close game in the first half. But Evan's team pulled away. Unfortunately, Evan started to not feel well. I think he was really hungry. He didn't play in his last rotation. Evan's team won and so they were in the championship game. We were giving Evan food but he was still complaining about not feeling well. Evan's team was losing and finally with about 5 minutes to go, I told Evan that if he wanted to play at all, now was his time. He went in and played literally the best 5 minutes of basketball I have ever seen him play. They did get a trophy after the game.
We came home and Evan ate and was in a very good mood. He wanted to watch Young Frankenstein so we started watching that before dinner.
For dinner, we went to Johnny Carino's. Then we took Zayde home.
We're home now and the boys are in their bed. The Marauders tournament continues tomorrow at 9:30. Then Evan has a scrimmage for the Nationals at 3:30.
Until next time...

2 Sick Boys
This morning I took Evan and Noah to the doctor. They both have upper respiratory infections. Evan’s is worse than Noah’s. Evan had a 103 fever and Noah’s was 99. Since Evan has been coughing a lot and has a fever, the doctor wanted to do a chest xray. Everything was fine. He had a little bit of fluid, but the doctor wasn’t concerned. Since it’s a virus we have to just let it run its course. The doctor recommended some things we can do and over the counter medicine the boys can take. If they don’t seem to be getting better in a few days, we’ll need to bring them back in.
Evan and Noah were very good and followed all of the directions for the doctor. They got to pick out stickers at the end of the visit.
On the way home we stopped at Sonic. I got the boys slushes and apple slices. They weren’t very hungry so that ended up being their lunch.
Noah took a little bit of a nap.
For dinner we made pasta.
Normally we go to Evan’s sports class on Wednesdays. Today was his last class, but we were not able to go since he is sick.
We let Evan play in the shower for a little bit tonight hoping that would help him feel better.
We just put Evan and Noah to bed. I’m hoping they both sleep well tonight. Between the thunderstorm and being sick they didn’t get much sleep last night.

Lunch with Lizzy
This morning I took Evan to school and then came back home. Morry was working from home today.
Around 9:30am the carpet cleaning guy came. We needed to get out of his way so Grandma, Noah, LIzzy, and I went to brunch/lunch. Austin Java Company allows dogs on the patio, so we ate outside with Lizzy. Lizzy was very good. That is the first time I have taken her to a restaurant.
After lunch we walked the 3 mile loop at the lake. Lizzy was very excited to be there and pulled the first part of the walk.
After the walk we picked Evan up from school and then came home to drop off Lizzy.
The boys had a 2:45 appointment with the doctor. To kills some time we went to Sonic for slushes.
The doctor thinks Evan and Noah just have allergies. We were worried they might have sinus or ear infections, but so far they seem ok.
At home Noah took a nap. Evan played in his room.
For dinner we went to Joe’s Crab Shack.
On the way home we went to 3 different places to try and find kid’s Zyrtec. Finallly, CVS had it in stock.
We just put the boys to bed. Evan is still awake.

Mason
This morning I let Morry sleep in and took care of the boys.
Morry took Evan to soccer while I took Noah to HEB. Since we were going to Mason later and needed groceries, I used that time to get our shopping done. Morry said Evan did very well and soccer and played the whole time. He followed directions well and had a good time.
We left our house around 1:00pm and drove to Mason (about 1.5 hrs with no stops).
After lunch we drove about another 30 minutes to JT and Helen’s house. We had a really nice time. Evan and Noah enjoyed playing with the big kids. We mostly sat outside. They have a covered patio that gets a nice breeze. Helen also had lots of cats and kittens in the house that both Evan and Noah enjoyed.
We left the house around 7:30. They were going out to dinner at that time, but we weren’t sure how much longer Evan and Noah would make it. We decided to head home. We had to make quite a few stops, now that Evan is potty trained. We stopped at Sonic (that’s all that was really out there) to get dinner for Evan. Evan asked for hot dog. We ordered a kids meal for him, that Morry ended up eating. Evan did not want any of it once we got it. He did drink the slushie we got for him though.
We finally got home around 10pm. The boys are in bed now and quiet. It was a long and fun day.
