My Turn

It's my turn to write the blog.  Morry has been writing it a lot lately.

This morning we drove to school.  The temperature was in the low 30s.

I did some stuff around the house and then met Aunt Sandy for lunch at HEB.  We had lunch together during her lunch break.  That was nice.

I drove to get the boys from school.

Noah's friend Owen came over after school for a little bit.  The boys spent the whole time playing Minecraft.

After Owen left we went shopping at Costco and then picked up dinner at Pho Thai Son on the way home.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Friday on Thursday

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The temperature dropped again here in Austin.  So we drove to school.  The wind picked up throughout the day and even though the temperatures got warmer it felt much colder.

Tomorrow during lunch, I have a meeting so Rachel and I would not be able to have our standard lunch.  So today, we went to Wholy Bagel.  We met there because I had a haircut before that.  I'm glad we were still able to do it this week.

We walked to get the boys but I think we were both sorry we walked.  Actually, we only picked Evan up since Noah had Mad Science.

Evan's teammate, Josh, came over this evening with his Dad.  Rachel is going to be tutoring Josh.  Josh's dad and I talked while he was here about things including batting lessons for the boys.

We had pulled pork we had gotten from Costco for dinner.  It was pretty good.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Baseball and Tennis

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was 36 degrees and a bit wet this morning but today was the final ride-or-walk-to-school day.  Evan wanted to ride his bike though.  Rachel, Noah and I drove.

I had to run out this morning for a meeting so I left shortly after returning.

By the afternoon, it had warmed up and the sun had finally come out.  We walked to pick up the boys.  This was Lizzy's first time walking this week so she was very happy.

Noah had his first tennis lesson today.  We were going to do it next week, but Rachel's tutoring got cancelled so she could take him.  The instructor kind of remembered Noah.  Rachel said Noah seemed to enjoy himself.  Rachel was up against the fence trying to take a picture of Noah hitting the ball when Noah ended up hitting it a bit too hard and it sailed over the fence hitting Rachel in the head.  Noah thought that was very funny.

While Noah was at tennis, I took Evan for some private batting lessons.  He hit for about 45 minutes and then pitched for the last 15 minutes.  He did well.  When he kept his hands at the spot where the instructor wanted him to have them, he would crush the ball.  The instructor was really teaching him advanced hitting.  He was talking to him about how he should swing with various counts.  For example, how he should change his swing slightly if the count was 0-2.  Evan seemed to enjoy it.  He seemed to get a lot out of the lesson.

For dinner we had left over corned beef.

Noah is now reading with Rachel.

Until next time...

Two Hour Delay

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Last night we found out the Austin School District was having a two-hour delay this morning.  I'm really not sure why.  There wasn't any ice or anything.  It was especially cold for here.  I think in general it was the high overpasses we have throughout the city that were dangerous.

It was nice sleeping in a bit.

We took the kids to school.  They were in good moods.

We drove to pick the kids up from school.  They were both in good moods.  Evan was in a good mood despite not having recess outside for two straight days.

For dinner I made steaks.  Evan and Noah both ate a ton of steak.

Rachel left to go tutor.  Evan watched the second half of the Villanova basketball game.  I had to do some work but I could hear him cheering in the other room.

Until next time...

Another Physical Therapy Appointment

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Rain and possibly freezing rain was predicted for this morning.  The kids were hoping for a delayed opening to school or a cancelled day.  Unfortunately for them it was not raining this morning.  It was very very cold though.  The wind was really the tough part.  So we drove to school.

I stayed home for a while in the morning but later I made a stop at Aaron's before running to an embroidery shop to drop off the bat bags for the Bucs.

Evan had a second physical therapy appointment right after school.  Rachel left to tutor and didn't come with me to get the boys.  But as soon as I got the boys, I made a bee-line for the therapy office. We were a tad bit late but it wasn't a problem.  I had texted the therapist.

She put some sort of wrap around Evan's knee and ran some machine on it. I have a feeling it was some sort of heat/massage machine.  She then did some stretching with Evan.  Then she took the same measurements of how well Evan could stretch his leg in various directions.  In every single case, Evan had a marked improvement from last week before she started working with him.  All of his movements were within the "normal" range.  At this point, he doesn't need any more therapy unless he feels a relapse or anything.

Rachel had started a corned beef so I carved it for the boys to eat.  They watched the Pink Panther 2 while eating dinner.

The boys are ready for bed and in their rooms and Rachel is about home.

Until next time...

Touchdown Evan

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This Sunday was much like last week's Sunday.  Evan had a football game and he had baseball practice.  It was his last football game so it's just baseball from now on.

I came downstairs around 9 and the boys were playing on their iPad and the Playstation.  Because Evan had all of his stuff today, the boys had to clean up this morning.  I gave them until 9:30 before they had to clean up.

Evan's football game went very well.  They lost, but they remained competitive and really had a potential chance to win towards the end of the game.  Evan was on fire.  He caught about 12 passes and scored two touchdowns as well as caught an extra point.  It didn't matter whether there were kids around him, he was catching everything.  His second touchdown catch came when he was in the back corner of the end zone.  The defensive back managed to get a hand on it but Evan still caught the deflection.  I think Evan was very excited about his play today.

We came home for 30 minutes before we had to get back in the car to go to baseball.  We are having a big cold front come in and the temperature was at 50 degrees and dropping.  The temperature really wasn't the problem, actually.  It was that it was really humid out and that the wind was around 15-20mph and it was a cold wind.  All the kids were having problems with their hands stinging when they hit the ball.  Evan had a good practice though.  We had our first live kid pitching to kid drills.  Evan pitched really well.  It's amazing how consistent he is in finding the strike zone.  He also hit well when it was his turn to hit.

We came home and had leftovers.

The boys just showered and are going up to bed.

Until next time...

Lunch with the Upshaws

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Aaron and Mandy decided to rent out their condo and then rent a house off of Enfield.  It's a nice old house.  They invited us over for lunch as well as two other families.  It was a pot luck.  Rachel made cornbread and we made waffles to bring as well.

Rachel couldn't initially come with us because she was tutoring.  She planned to meet us over there.

The boys and I stopped at HEB on the way and also got some chips and dip and then drove there.  Little Jeremy was very excited to see the boys.  The three of them went and played with Jeremy's train table.

It was a very nice time.  Later in the afternoon, we all walked to a really nice park a couple blocks away.  Noah held Jeremy's hand on the walk.  They had a nice playscape, a basketball hoop and some swings.  Evan and I played a bit of basketball.  Noah was on the swings for a long time.  All-in-all it was a very nice day.

We came home and Rachel did some laundry while the boys watched a ton of Simpsons.  You can watch any episode you want at simpsonsworld.com.  I can play it on my computer but choose the display (using AppleTV) for our TV so the boys were able to watch the shows on the TV.

We went to Genghis Grill for dinner.  It was pretty good.  Then we stopped at HEB and picked up some fruit for the week on the way home.

The boys are in their rooms, ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Last Football Practice

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Lizzy was very happy this morning because we walked to school for the first time this week in the morning.  It was really warm out this morning.  Evan rode his bike.

We didn't have anything going on this morning.  Both Rachel and I stayed home.

For lunch we went to Wholy Bagel.  They came out with a bagel hamburger.  I tried it.  It was pretty good.

Rachel had to run over to Westlake High School to meet with a teacher there to see a student's test.   The teacher does not return the tests to the kids and the mother of the child that Rachel tutors wanted her to look at the test to understand what happened.  Rachel met with the teacher.

I walked to pick the boys up because Rachel had not yet gotten home.  Rachel came home and got Lizzy and walked to meet us there.

Evan and I went to his last football practice.  His last game is on Sunday.  He again had a good practice.

For dinner we went to Chipotle.  Evan has been begging us to go.

The boys are about to get ready for bed.

Until next time...

New Start

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Noah went back to school today, thus starting a new streak.  When I woke him up, he seemed to be in a good mood and we didn't have any problems getting him to school.  It was cold again, so we drove but Evan rode his bike.

Rachel had a meeting with a client in the morning and I went into Aaron's for a bit.

It warmed up into the low 70s in the afternoon so we walked with Lizzy to pick Evan up.  Noah had Mad Science.  I waited with Lizzy at the top of the hill.  The family that has a 5- or 6-year old black lab named Crystal came with Crystal while I was waiting.  Lizzy and Crystal really like each other.  It was really cute.  After the initial butt smelling, the dogs laid down in the sun right next to each other waiting for their kids.  It looked like both dogs were smiling.

Rachel picked Noah up from Mad Science.  Noah seemed to have a good time at this week's Mad Science.

After getting home, Rachel left to tutor.  Unfortunately, it seems the family forgot about tutoring because they were not there when Rachel got there.  So Rachel stopped at Walgreen's on the way home and got leftover Valentine's candy.

For dinner we had some leftovers but the boys ate salmon.

The boys are about to go upstairs to bed.

Until next time...

End of the Streak

Hello everyone, this is morry.

Lou Gehrig. Cal Ripken, Jr. Noah Belkin.  All of them had amazing consecutive day (game) streaks going.  All of their streaks had to end some time.  For Noah, he went all the way through Kindergarten and nearly 3/4 of the way through first grade before he missed his first day of school.  But today when I checked on him in the morning, he had a low-grade fever.  He really didn't look good.  So we let him stay home from school.

Evan, though, was excited that Noah couldn't come to school.  That meant that I could ride bikes with him to school for the first time since Evan was in first grade.  The two of us rode bikes in the 38 degree weather.  It was pretty cold riding but it was fun.  Evan seemed to really enjoy it.

When I got home from taking Evan to school, Noah was downstairs.  He said his stomach hurt.  Rachel gave him some medicine.  He ended up having a bit of diarrhea.  Once he got it out of his system though, he seemed to really perk up.  In fact, by the afternoon, he was back to his normal self.

I rode a bike to pick Evan up.  I did talk to Ms. Wenske some while I waited for Evan to come out of school.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.

We had leftovers for dinner.

The boys are about to get ready for bed.  I think Noah will be able to go to school tomorrow.

Until next time...

Sick Noah

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was around 32 degrees this morning so we drove to school.  Also, I had an early meeting so it was going to be easier for me to drive.

I went into Aaron's for a bit, while Rachel went to HEB to pick up some things.  Rachel saw Aunt Sandy there who apparently is recovering from the flu.

In the afternoon, we walked to pick the boys up from school.  When I walked up, Noah's class was already out.  That was unusual.  Noah stood up and he looked very upset.  I asked Ms. Wenske what had happened and she said that they were supposed to be writing.  At the end of the writing time, Noah's page was blank.  He told her that he had a headache.  She told him that it's ok, but he should tell her at the beginning if he wasn't feeling good.  I didn't really believe Noah that he had a headache.  He claims to be sick at home all the time when he wants to get out of stuff.

We walked home, and I took Noah's temperature.  He did have a fever.  He wanted to do his homework and then he came into my office, laid down on the couch and fell asleep.  Rachel cancelled her tutoring to be with him.

Evan and I left for baseball practice.  Evan made great diving stop to his left got up and threw the ball across the infield perfectly.  A couple of the coaches were talking about.  I said it Sunday and I'll say it again - Evan just has fun playing baseball.

We came home and had dinner.  Rachel made salmon for Evan again.  Noah didn't feel like eating.  Evan was very hyper as he often is after baseball.  Rachel made cornbread for us.

Noah is in bed now and Evan is getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Baseball is Back

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We didn't do much this morning.  Evan had a big day.  He had a football game at 1 and baseball practice from 4 to 7pm.  So we didn't want to do too much.

Evan and I left the house around 11:45.  His team has been playing awfully but today the team played better than I had seem them play since the first game of the season.  At one point Evan's team had the lead.  Evan played well, particularly on defense.  He had a couple nice catches and runs as well.  The team lost but at least it was competitive.  Rachel and Noah came to watch.

We came home and relaxed for an hour before going to baseball practice.  It was the first practice of the season.  All the kids did much better at fielding than I thought they would.  I really though everyone would be rusty but they did really well.  Evan just looked like he was having so much fun, particularly in the infield drills.  It was great watching him.  All the kids struggled with hitting and catching up to some of the faster pitches.  Also the kids' mechanics needed work in pitching but all the kids looked ready to play.  It was a very good practice.   Evan didn't want practice to end even though it was nearly pitch black out and they had been practicing for three hours.

We came home and Rachel had made Coke ham.  She made a piece of salmon for Evan.  Noah ate a ton of ham.  Evan finished his salmon.  Flash ate a bug.

The boys just showered and are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Family Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

When Noah went the the Wonders & Worries party two weeks ago, he made a card there.  He had to write three potential Valentine's Gifts and then he put the scratch-off stuff over top of it.  He's been excited to give me the card ever since.  This morning he came in to check if I was awake yet.  I scratched off the middle of the three prizes and it was ten kisses.  So he gave me 10 kisses on my cheek.

We exchanged gifts when we got up.  One of the gifts that Rachel got for me and the boys was a trip to Big Top Candy on South Congress.  They sell old time candy, as well as new candy there.  So we decided to make a day of it on South Congress since it was really nice out.  Evan really wanted salad from Whole Foods though so we stopped by there and the boys each made a salad from the salad bar.

All four of us had fun at Big Top Candy.  Then we walked down (the very crowded) South Congress to Ms. P's Fried Chicken.  Rachel and I got food there.  It was really good.  We hadn't been there before.

We came home and relaxed.

The boys have been begging us to take them to SpongeBob.  We had a gift certificate to the  Alamo Drafthouse from Nikki so we went there for dinner.  The boys really enjoyed the movie.  It turns out one of Evan's teammates from the Bucs was there so Evan hung out with him at the end of the movie.

We came home and the boys went to bed.

Until next time...

Back To School

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan went back to school today.  He rode his bike while we drove since it was around 40 degrees.  He wanted to make sure to beat us to the trail.

Rachel and I went to Wholy Bagel for lunch.   After Wholy Bagel, we stopped at school for the Valentine's Day Party with Noah's class.  Noah seemed happy to see us.  We walked to Ms. Wenske for awhile.  She had a picture of her college graduation and a picture of her graduation from grad school up.  She and I are the same age and we were talking about how it turns out I graduated 6 days before she did.  She's really a nice lady.

We walked to pick the boys up.  Lizzy seemed really happy to be walking to school again.  She hadn't walked since Monday.  Rachel waited at the top of the trail with Lizzy while I walked down to get the boys.  When I came up the trail, Rachel and Lizzy were surrounded by little kids petting Lizzy.  Two little girls really did not want to leave Lizzy.

Brody came over for a bit before Evan's football practice.

Evan had a good football practice and made a nice catch.  He and I then stopped at HEB to get a Redbox movie and we stopped in to see Aunt Sandy.  Aunt Sandy was selling fancy chocolate covered strawberries.  She had lost her voice from selling so much.

For dinner I had a waffle from our new waffle maker.  Noah had one too.  Rachel had a sandwich and clam chowder.  Evan didn't eat much.  His appetite has not yet returned.

The boys are about to go to bed.

Until next time...

One More Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

When I woke Evan up, he was complaining that his neck and back were aching and that he was nauseous.  He did not want to go to school.  We just weren't sure what to do.  He didn't look good so we let him stay home one more day.

Rachel and I took Noah to school.

Rachel had a meeting with a client and then had a dentist's appointment.

Erin and Raychelle left to continue on their bike trip this morning.

When Rachel got home from the dentist, I went into Aaron's.

Noah had Mad Science after school.

Rachel went to tutor and I took care of the boys.  Evan is still complaining about being nauseous but he's not achy anymore.  He just had fruit for dinner. Noah ate a good dinner.

The boys are watching Inspector Gadget.  It's just about over and they will go to bed.

Until next time...

Still Sick

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

I took Evan's temperature when I woke him up this morning.  It was a bit over 99 and he just didn't look good so we decided to keep him home from school.  Since Erin and Raychelle were here, both Rachel and I took Noah to school.

Last night, I was texting with one of the coaches that I am friendly with from baseball.  I thought I remembered that she was a physical trainer.  She was the one who told me about Noah being talked about at the draft.  I asked her about Evan.  She said that she works with kids and the place she works at takes our insurance so Rachel booked an appointment with her for next week.  She has worked with Evan as a coach before so I think Evan will really respond to her as part of physical therapy.

I had a meeting that I had to go downtown for in the morning.  Rachel stayed home with Evan.

Raychelle and Erin hired an Uber driver and took it downtown to explore for the day.

When I came home, I stopped off at Smoothie King and picked up smoothies for Evan and me.

Rachel went to HEB and then picked Noah up.

Evan seemed to be doing better so all of us went to Hula Hut for dinner.  Noah and Evan each had beef fajitas though Evan started to not feel good again and started to get achey so he didn't eat as much as Noah.

Evan is now in the shower trying to feel a bit better.  We'll see about school tomorrow.

Until next time...

Sick Evan

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning when I woke Evan up, he told me everything felt like it was moving in slow motion.  I felt his head and it felt warm.  I took his temperature and he had a fever so he stayed in bed.  Rachel took Noah to school while I stayed home with Evan.

I went to Aaron's for just a tiny bit.

When I came home, Rachel went to a lunch at Whole Foods with the Pink Ribbon Cowgirls.  Evan watched a couple movies.  He asked that I bring my laptop and sit with him on the couch and do my work from the couch.

Rachel brought Evan home a smoothie from Smoothie King.  He drank it very quickly.

Rachel picked up Noah from school.  Later she went to tutor.

While Rachel was tutoring,  Uncle Scott's daughter, Erin and her girlfriend came to stay with us.  They are biking across the country and they are staying for a few days to catch up on sleep, laundry and showers.

I had to leave shortly after to meet a friend for Happy Hour.

When I came home, Rachel, Erin, Raychelle, and I had dinner.  Evan was already in bed.  He fell asleep pretty quickly.

Tonight was the draft for the Oak Hill baseball.  Noah is not playing this year.  I had gotten a couple emails from people asking about Noah and why he wasn't signed up.  A coach texted me tonight to say that Noah's name came up and people were all wondering why Noah didn't want to play.  This coach wanted me to make sure to tell Noah that people were asking about him.  I told him and he seemed happy that people were thinking of him.

Everyone is in bed now.

Until next time...

Orthopedics

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, we walked to school along with Noah.  Evan rode his bike with Jack.

Around 10am, we picked Evan up at school.  He hurt his knee in football in the fall and is always complaining about it hurting when he puts pressure on it.  So if he plants to change direction or if he is on his scooter he complains.  We finally made an appointment with a pediatric orthopedic doctor.

The doctor was very very nice.  He was good with Evan.  They took x-rays and the doctor explained what each bone was to Evan and where it was in him.  As Rachel and I suspected, there was no break. Also, the pain Evan was pointing to was lower than his growth plate.  The doctor couldn't see anything but hesitates to recommend an MRI just yet.  He prescribed 4-6 weeks of physical therapy for Evan.  He said it would help him in general because "athletic boys his age are always tight" and this will help him loosen up.  So we'll start Evan in therapy.

We dropped him back off at school and came home.

When we went to pick the boys up, Rachel and I drove.  Rachel said goodbye to the boys and left to go tutoring.  Noah and I walked home and Evan rode his bike home with Jack.

We were talking about Back to the Future this weekend and so Evan and Noah have been doing a Back to the Future marathon.  They are on Back to the Future 3.  We actually own those on DVD.  I think they've really been enjoying them.

I'll be reading with Noah soon and then the boys will go to bed.

Until next time...

Outside

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

When I got up this morning, the boys were playing Legos.  They played inside most of the morning until lunch.

After lunch, Evan had a football game.  Again, his team didn't play well.  Evan had a good game.  He caught 4 or 5 passes and ran well on two reverses.  On defense and knocked a ball away.  He should be proud for playing well despite the team not playing well.

When we got home, I guess Evan decided he hasn't been outside exercising enough.  Rachel went for a run and he rode along on his bike.  They went over to the streets named after Steelers.  Evan was excited because they were on Bettis Trophy Street.

It was Noah's turn to pick a movie today and he wanted to see the fifth Harry Potter.  He and I started it just before Evan and Rachel got home.   Evan ended up watching it with us.

Rachel made dough for pizza and we made pizza for the boys for dinner.

The boys are in the shower now.  They'll go to bed after.

Until next time...

Veloway

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan has been talking about wanting to ride his bike on the Veloway for a while.  Rachel told him we could do it today.  The biggest issue is that Noah still does not know how to ride a bike.  We decided we'd just bring the trail-a-bike on the back of my bike.  We took advantage of my car for the size.  We put the trail-a-bike and Evan's bike in there and used the nice bike rack that Papa gave to us.  It worked out really well.  The whole family seemed to have fun.

Shortly after lunch, one of Evan's teammates, Josh, from the Bucs came over with his dad.  His dad wanted Rachel to evaluate whether Josh needed to be tutored. Also, Josh's dad wanted to talk to me about a potential project.  Rachel tutored Josh for a bit and then Evan and Josh played together.  It looked like they had a good time.

After that, Evan played with Christian and Connor.

We went to Costco for a bit to get some fruit for the week.  Then we picked up pizza from Home Slice.

The boys are now up in their room.

Until next time...

Date Night

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was very cold this morning but Evan wanted to ride his bike.  Noah, Rachel and I drove.  We brought Noah's scooter along with us so he could ride it home when it was warmer in the afternoon.

We went to Wholy Bagel for lunch.  It wasn't as crowded as last week for some reason.

Lizzy came with us to pick up the boys.  Evan rode his bike home with Jack and Noah rode his scooter home.

Evan had football practice later in the afternoon.

When practice was over, we drove the boys to a bouncy house place that was having an Parents Night Out.  The kids could play and they provided pizza, popcorn and juice.

Rachel and I went downtown and had Asian food at a place called Imperia.  It was pretty good.  We had a Groupon for it.  Then we walked to Le Cafe Crepe and had dessert crepes.

We had a bit of time to kill so we stopped at Barnes and Noble.

When we picked up the boys they said they had a great time.

Until next time...

French Legation Museum

Hello Everyone, this is Morry.

While it said this morning's temperature was just two degrees colder than when we walked yesterday, it sure felt much colder.  The wind was very severe.  But we walked.  Well, Rachel and I walked.  Evan rode his bike and Noah rode his scooter.

We drove to get the kids.  It actually got colder throughout the day.  Actually, Noah was staying for Mad Science so we were getting Evan.  Evan rode his bike home and we took Noah's scooter back.  Evan was able to take a shortcut back while we had to drive on the streets.  Amazingly, we arrived home at pretty much the same time.

Evan told us about his field trip today.  Last night he had told me he was going to the French Legation Museum.  I thought to myself, wow, they really picked a boring place for field trips.  I thought back to my own experiences with field trips where we constantly went to colonial stuff in Philadelphia.  Back then I found it really boring.  I figured Evan would have the same experience here.  But he couldn't stop talking about it.  He told us everything he learned.  He absolutely loved it.  It was great.

The boys had pasta for dinner and we had leftovers from last night.

Noah is reading with Rachel right now.

Until next time...

Bike or Walk

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

There is only one bus that delivers kids to the school where Evan and Noah go.  The rest of the students at the school must walk or be driven to school.  Apparently, though, more people are driven to school than any other school in the Austin School District.  I guess all the other parents are lazy (but I'm not judging) and drive instead of walk.  But seriously, the district decided to start a thing.  For every kid that walks or bikes into school and came down one of the trails, they got a raffle ticket and a sticker to wear at school.  They will do this every Wednesday in February.  The winner of the raffle gets a new bike.

So this morning, Evan rode his bike and Noah took his scooter.  We saw people walking or biking to school that I had never seen before in my life.

I had a client come over for a meeting this morning.

In the afternoon, Lizzy, Rachel and I picked up the boys.  One of the girls who loves Lizzy, Savannah, would let go of Lizzy when her mom said it was time to go.  She just held on to Lizzy and hugged her.  Lizzy loved it.

Rachel made chicken and fish covered with panko breadcrumbs and chorizo for dinner tonight.  I ate the chicken and she had the fish.  Neither boy would try it.  It was pretty good.

The boys are about to go up to bed.

Until next time...

Rain is Back

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

A cold rainy day was predicted for today.  The forecasters were right.  It wasn't raining when we took the boys to school but it was threatening so we drove.

I went into Aaron's for a little bit.  On the way home, I stopped at the bank.

It was raining pretty hard when we went to pick the boys up.  We still drove to the trail, but the pick up required us to go into the school and pick the boys up at their classrooms.

By the time we got back home, it had stopped raining.  The boys insisted on going outside and playing after they finished their homework.

Rachel made pulled pork for dinner and baked potatoes.  Both were very good.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Celebrity

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We drove to school this morning because it was too cold to walk.

Around lunchtime, Rachel left to meet with a client about SEO and Google Adwords.  I worked from home all day long.

We walked to pick the boys up from school.  We brought Lizzy with us.  As we got there, a mom walked by and commented about how good Lizzy is.  Then she said that Lizzy "is a celebrity around here".  She was talking about all the kids wanting to pet Lizzy.

The boys did their homework when we got home.  Then Rachel went to tutor and Evan had football practice.  Noah came with Evan me.

Rachel won't be home until late from tutoring, so the boys and I ate without her when we got home.

The boys are watching The Simpsons right now.

Until next time...

Lots of Football

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We took it easy this morning.  The boys watched a movie we had gotten at Redbox last night.

After lunch, Evan had a football game.  Rachel and Noah went to a Wonders and Worries party at a bowling alley.  Noah had his face painted and got to bowl.  Rachel and Noah had their picture taken, and Noah made filled a jar with small Nerds-like candy in layers of color.

Evan's game did not go well.  His team, unfortunately, is not very good.  Evan caught a few passes and had a nice run.

We came home and the boys cleaned up and then went outside and played with Connor and Christian.

We all sat down to watch the Super Bowl, though Rachel didn't watch the whole thing.  Evan was upset about the result of the Super Bowl.  They are now in bed.

Until next time...
