We were supposed to go to someone’s house today for playgroup but she got sick.I offered to have people come over to our house at the last minute.I figured it was better than not doing anything today. We enjoy the playgroups and our house was already a mess anyway. I warned people that I didn’t have time to straighten up the house.Bodar came with her 2 kids and Lisa came with her daughter. We had a nice time.Evan enjoyed playing with the two girls his age.Noah mostly played by himself. I put out some snacks and made coffee. We all had a nice time.
Since Evan and Noah snacked throughout the playgroup they didn’t want lunch.I put them down around 1:30 and they both slept for a long time.Noah got up around 5 and Evan 5:30.
For dinner we went to Joe’s Crab Shack.Evan ate really well.We shared a crab and shrimp platter. Evan ate all of the shrimp and lots of crab. He also ate some fruit we brought from home.Noah just ate a few things we brought from home. There was a really loud, big party near us. They were screaming. It was really annoying. At one point they were so loud it scared Noah and he started crying.Besides that dinner worked out well.
We just got Evan and Noah ready for bed, but like always, they are both still awake. We’ll see how the night goes.
This morning Evan and Noah slept until about 8:45am.
We had playgroup at our house this morning.I made blueberry muffins and put out some other snacks. We just had 3 other kids over here. It worked out really well.Bodar, Marissa, and Espen came as well as Yenis and Kevin. All of the kids played really well together.I enjoyed having the playgroup over here again.
Since Evan and Noah ate a lot during playgroup we didn’t have lunch. They went down for naps around 1:30 and slept really well until around 5pm when Morry got home.
For dinner we ate at Hyde Park Grill. The food was good, but the service wasn’t so great.Evan and Noah were very well behaved.Noah ate a ton of food.We ordered a pizza for Evan, but he didn’t touch it.He did eat all of the fruit we got for him though.
We just put the boys to bed. Let’s hope they sleep well tonight.
This morning we went to playgroup. It had been a while since we had gone. It was nice seeing all the moms and kids again.Evan and Noah had a good time.Marissa has a play kitchen and Noah really enjoyed making me coffee. He kept brining me a lot of cups and pretending to pour coffee in them.
After playgroup we came home for lunch.I made mac and cheese for the boys.Evan ate all of his, but Noah just spread it out on his tray.
Lauren came over and helped me put the boys down for naps. Then, we hung out here for a while and talked while the boys were napping.
For dinner we wanted to try a new restaurant called Backspin in our neighborhood. When we got there we realized it was really more of a bar and all the tables were taken. We were told it would probably be a while before any of the tables were cleared, so we decided to go somewhere else.We drove over to Cheddars and I ran in to put our name on the list.It was pretty crowded there too and I was told it would be a 20 minute wait. We decided not to wait and try another place. We thought we'd go to Natural Planet, another restaurant near us, because it usually isn’t too crowded.
At Natural Planet we got seated right away, but it took forever for our food to come out.Evan and Noah were very good and enjoyed watching the Winter X Games on TV.
We just put Evan and Noah to bed.It is already quiet in Noah’s room.
This morning we went to playgroup at Bodar and Marissa’s house. We were only able to stay a little while. Evan and Noah enjoyed playing and were pretty good when it came time to leave. I think it helped knowing that we were about to see Daddy.
We met Morry at the Infinity dealership where he was getting his oil changed. We wanted to eat somewhere close and quick so we chose Waterloo. It was not a good lunch. The food was just ok and boys were not very well behaved.
After lunch we dropped Morry off at the Inifinity dealership and then went home.
Blanca came at 1:30. I had a doctor’s appointment and then did some shopping at Target.
Evan and Noah took good naps, but Blanca told me Evan had another accident. While she was there he peed right in front of her through his clothes and onto the carpet. I’m not sure what’s going on with Evan. He has been doing really well with potty training up until the last few days.
We got a lot of rain today too and it actually cooled off here. It was in the low 70s tonight.
When Morry got home we went out to dinner at Cypress Grill. Evan and Noah did very well. They were well behaved and ate a lot.
Evan and Noah are in bed now, but still up talking and playing.
Here are some pictures and video from yesterday. I tried to put them up yesterday, but something was wrong with the computer. It seems to be working today though.
This morning we went to playgroup at Marissa’s house. It was a small playgroup today.I guess maybe people already left town for the weekend?
We had a nice time at playgroup.Marissa had one of those fish games where the fish open and close their mouths and you try to use the fishing pole to catch one.Evan really liked that.He got good at catching fish and was really proud each time he got one.
After playgroup, Grandmom/Marilyn, Noah, Evan, and I went to lunch at Panera. On the way there Yenis called and I invited them to join us.We all sat outside. Both boys ate well.Noah ate the whole time we were there. In fact, he was still eating stuff off the plate as we were leaving.
When we got home I put the boys down for nap. They slept really well.
For dinner we met Matt at Joe’s Crab Shack. We ate outside on picnic tables overlooking the lake. The waiters danced and the boys enjoyed all the music playing.Evan ate a ton of my crab.I spent most of my dinner cracking crab for him.Evan and Noah were so well behaved at dinner. They had a lot to entertain them.
After dinner, we came home and gave the boys baths. When Evan got out of the bath he sat on the potty.I read to him while he sat on the potty. At one point Morry walked by and Evan told Morry he was going to poop.We sort of thought, “oh, ok, yeah right.”Well, just a few minutes later Evan had pooped in the potty. The first time ever!We cheered and danced.Evan got a sticker.
When I went to put Evan in his pajamas he said he wanted to put on underwear. He was upset when we said no.We didn’t want him in bed without a diaper.I let him pick out underwear that he could wear tomorrow and that seemed to make him happy.
No one volunteered to host playgroup today, so last night I sent out an email saying I could have people over at our house. Since it was last minute only a few people replied. It turned out only one kid ended up coming. Marissa (and Bodar and baby brother, Espen) came over this morning. We had a very nice time. The kids had fun playing with each other. Noah was very curious about the baby. I made blueberry/cranberry oatmeal muffins for the playgroup. Since it was last minute, I hadn’t gone shopping so I just made muffins using what we had in the house. They turned out pretty good. Evan ate a ton of them. I also cut up oranges and Bodar brought clementines. Evan ate a lot of the oranges and clementines as well. Noah didn’t seem to like the muffin, but he did eat quite a few animal crackers.
After playgroup I let Evan and Noah play for a little while and then I put them down for naps.
Right around the time Morry got home Evan woke up. We spent some time upstairs. I was getting some things together to get rid of (baby toys, etc) while Morry hooked up the tv and components upstairs in our old entertainment center we moved upstairs.
We finally got out of the house today and enjoyed the nice weather.I’m feeling a lot better, though still not 100%.Evan seems pretty much better too, and Noah is still good, so far.
I took Evan, Noah, and Lizzy on a 2 mile run this morning. It’s been a while since I have run.I had planned on doing a 5k charity run on Sunday until I got sick this week.I haven’t registered yet.I wanted to see how I did today.I think I could probably do it, but I’ll wait until the last minute to decide.
We met Bodar and Marissa (from playgroup and school) at the park today. The weather was nice, but a little bit windy.Evan and Noah enjoyed playing outside.Noah loves playing with the little rocks on the playground.Evan spent a lot of time on the bouncy horses.
After the park we went to Target to return a few things and pick up others.I got some plates for both boys’ birthdays. They actually had Cars plates (Evan’s theme) on clearance, so I was able to pick up a few.We passed by the Easter candy display (or couple of aisles, actually).I decided to get our first Cadbury cream eggs for the year.I bought a box of the little ones for Evan.He was excited, but I don’t think he really knew what they were.
When we got home he ran into the office/bedroom (Morry was working at home today).Hew wanted to show Morry the cream eggs we got at Target. We told Evan he could have one if he ate a good lunch.Evan actually ate really well.He must be pretty hungry form not eating that well the last few days.Of course, he enjoyed his little cream egg at the end of lunch.
Not only is October tough because of all of the breast cancer awareness promotions, but it is also the anniversary of the beginning of my journey back in 2009.
Angelina says, "There is more than one way to deal with any health issue. The most important thing is to learn about the options and choose what is right for you personally." I appreciate Angelina Jolie and all of the others that have chosen to be open about their health and share personal details.
Shortly after I finished chemo, my feet started feeling like someone took a hammer to them. At first, I thought I had an injury or arthritis. I went to a podiatrist and a rheumatologist, but they couldn’t find anything noticeably wrong. My x-rays looked fine.
