I went for a run.

Morry and I walked to pick up the kids from school.

I tutored in the afternoon.

For dinner we had leftovers and shrimp.

Evan played outside for a little bit after dinner.

Now, the boys are getting ready for bed.

Wet Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

There was a light rain this morning when we got up.  It also looked like the skies could really open up at any moment.  So we decided to drive to the trail and then walk into school.

When we got home, someone from Bosch came to replace a piece on our dishwasher.  It's just an external piece that is about looks.  It doesn't affect the functioning of the dishwasher, but it looks broken on the outside.  Since the dishwasher is only a year old we called Bosch and they agreed to send someone to fix it.  The repairman said this has been a common problem and Bosch is aware of it which is why, I guess, they sent someone out to fix it.  The guy was only here for about 5 to 10 minutes.

After that, Rachel and Lorena walked to Starbucks.  It wasn't raining at that time but it was very humid out.  When Rachel got home, it almost looked like she had been in the rain.

When we left to walk to pick up the boys, it started to rain a bit harder, so we came back in the garage and drove.  Jack came home with us for tutoring.  Audrey came after that.

While Rachel was tutoring Audrey, Evan and I left for baseball practice.  The sun had come out by this time.  Evan had another good practice.  He pitched well and he played catcher again.  I don't know if that means he'll catch in a game or not.  He's excited about the possibility.

We had blackened chicken for dinner.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Another Busy Afternoon

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We walked to school this morning.  Lizzy had a nice time.  She got attention from Savannah, Evan's friend Colby, Colby's brother, and she got to see Brody the golden retriever.  She was very happy.

Rachel went for a run in the morning.  I stayed at home today.  I had a busy morning dealing with several clients at once.

In the afternoon, Rachel's first tutoring was cancelled so she could help with Math Pentathalon for the first half.  So we drove to school.  Rachel then went in and helped and Evan and I walked home.  Rachel said that Noah did well as always.

Shortly after we got home, Ethan's mom texted Rachel to see about Evan coming over and playing so Evan went over there.

Noah came home for a little and did his homework.  Then we left and picked Evan up.  From there I dropped Noah off at Grandma and Papa's and Evan and I went to batting practice.  It was raining out but the batting practice is indoors.

We're home now and getting dinner ready for Rachel, Evan and me.  Noah ate at Grandma and Papa's.

Until next time...

During the day I got some things done on my computer/website and rested a little.

We walked to pick up the boys from school.

Later in the afternoon Evan and Morry went to the park while Noah and I went to HEB.  Noah ordered a Star Wars cake for his party on Friday.

For dinner we had hamburgers.  The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Back From Grandmom's

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We got back from Grandmom's this afternoon.  We flew up Thursday night - the day she moved into a new condo.  We got in very late on Thursday night - around 1:30am.  We helped unpack and get Grandmom settled on Friday and Saturday and came back today.

While we were there, Allison and Avery came.  Avery stayed with us from Friday until Saturday just before dinner.  Allison really helped unpack and clean up, particularly the kitchen but all over really.  Avery and the boys had a good time.

On Saturday, we went downtown and went to the Art Museum steps.  These are the steps that Rocky runs up in the Rocky movies.  The boys and Avery ran to the top and had a good time.  Actually they ran up 5 times.  They also took a picture in front of the Rocky statue.  We stopped at Nifty Fifty's on the way back.

Tonight, we went to Rudy's with Grandma and Papa.  Evan ate a ton.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Brothers

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Last night I could not stop coughing.  I've had a cold for a while now.  So this morning, after walking the boys to school, I went to the doctor.  I was worried it had moved to my chest.  The doctor said it had not.  She just said it was just a persistent cold that I was having trouble getting rid of.  She prescribed some cough medicine for me.

I stopped at HEB on the way home to get my medicine.

Rachel went to visit Aunt Sandy in the hospital.  Aunt Sandy had some complications after a colonoscopy.

Deborah came over when Rachel got home and stayed until we got the boys.

On the way home from school, Evan and Noah stuck together.  They ran home and Evan didn't try to race Noah.  It was nice.

Rachel tutored Jack and Audrey in the afternoon.  While Rachel was tutoring Jack, Noah had some problems with his homework.  He asked Evan to help him.  I walked by just as Evan was working with Noah on his homework.

Evan and I went to baseball practice around 5.  Evan had a good practice.  He played quite a bit of catcher which he enjoyed.  He hadn't played catcher in a while.

We had corned beef for dinner that we cooked in the crockpot.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Busy Afternoon

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was supposedly warmer on the walk this morning than yesterday but it was windy which made it feel cold.

I went into Aaron's for a while.  Then I stopped at another client on the way home to show him how to do something.

Of course I had to stop and get Smoothie King after that.

When I got home, Rachel was out for a run.  She came home, showered, had lunch and went to tutoring.

I walked to pick up Evan.  Noah had Math Pentathalon.  Grandma volunteered today.  Then Noah went home with Grandma.

Evan played outside with Brody for a bit.  Then I made him dinner and we left for hitting practice.

Noah was happy because Grandma took him to Pho Thai Son for dinner.

Rachel got Noah on her way home.

The boys are asleep now.

Until next time...

The next day

This morning we walked the boys to school.  It was chilly - in the 30s.

We walked back later to meet Noah for lunch.  Grandma came too.  Noah seemed really happy to have all of us there.

Deborah came over for some of the day to hang out and do some work.

Morry and I walked to pick up the kids from school.

For dinner we had burritos.

Morry had a phone meeting after dinner.  Evan and I took a walk with Lizzy while he was on the phone.

The boys are in bed now.

Happy Birthday Noah!

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Last night, Rachel hung a Happy Birthday banner outside of Noah's room so when he woke up, that's what he'd see.  He set his alarm so he'd be awake for the actual time of his birth - 7:16am.

Noah wanted to go to Top Golf then get lunch at Subway and then go to Rita's Water Ice.  Rita's gives away free small water ices on March 20 to celebrate the first day of spring.  We picked up Grandma and Papa and drove to Top Golf.  Noah got points on his first shot.  Evan played well as normal.  Papa ended up winning.

Then we found that the same shopping center where there is a Rita's had a Subway as well.  So we went out there and ate lunch at Subway.  We walked a few stores down to go into Rita's only to discover that the Rita's went out of business.  The sign was still on the outside but there was a "for lease" sign on the door.  The counter and paint were still in there.  It must have been a recent development.  Noah decided he just wanted to go home.

Evan and Noah played upstairs in the afternoon until Evan and I left to go to baseball practice.  Noah wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.  Evan and I left practice early to meet Noah, Rachel, Grandma and Papa.

We had a nice time at Texas Roadhouse. Noah enjoyed his food as did everyone else.

We came home after that and the boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Night Out and Saturday

Yesterday, we went to Wholy Bagel with the kids for lunch.

Later in the afternoon we dropped off the boys at Grandma and Papa's house.

I had some South by Southwest tickets for a concert and then Morry and I had plans to see a movie.

After dropping the boys off, Morry and I went to the concert party thing.  We stayed for about and hour.  Then, we got dinner at Gourdoughs.

From there, we stopped at Big Top Candy Shop and Crepe Crazy.

Last, we saw The Divergent Series: Allegiant - Part 1.

The boys spent the night over at Grandma and Papa's house.

Today, we went to Grandma and Papa's house around 10:30 to have brunch and a participatory Purim play.  The boys really had fun acting out the story of Purim.

We came home and then I left to tutor.  From there, I went to a casting call and then Costco.

For dinner we made burritos at home and watched the movie Speed.  The boys were very into it. They liked it.

Now, Evan and Noah are getting ready for bed.  Noah is very excited about his birthday tomorrow.

Here are some pictures from yesterday and today.

Goodbye Zayde

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan and I took Zayde to the airport this morning.  Evan really wanted to come which was nice.

When we got home, I laid back down for a little while.

Later, I went and got my hair cut.  Rachel took the boys bowling.  Evan said he got a strike on his first roll.  They played two games.  Rachel said the boys argued a lot.

We watched the movie Home in the afternoon.  Then the boys went outside and played with the neighborhood kids until dinner time.

Rachel, Evan, Noah and Lizzy are out for a walk now.

Until next time...

The Boys are Back in Town + iFly

Yesterday, I picked up Morry, Evan, Noah, and Jack from the airport.  They had a fun trip to Florida for baseball Spring Training.

We ate lunch at Torchy's tacos.

Last night, for dinner we ate at Genghis Grill.

Today we took it easy.  We had lunch at Texadelphia.  Both boys ate really well.

For Hanukkah, we got the boys gift certificates to iFly (indoor skydiving).  We finally got around to making reservations for them to use their gifts.  They had 6:00 spots for tonight.  We had to get there at 5:15 so they could get a lesson before flying.

First, we picked up Grandma and Papa and then made the drive to North Austin.

Evan and Noah both really enjoyed iFly.

For dinner we all went to Caspian Grill.

Now, the boys are getting ready for bed.

Here are some pictures and video from yesterday and today.

Yesterday Evan had Track and Field Day at school.  Today, Noah had his.  We walked to school.  Then, I stayed to help out.

Later in the morning Morry dropped off Zayde so that he could see some of Noah's rotations.

Morry and Zayde ate lunch at Kerbey Lane and then went to buy Zayde an iphone.

Morry and I walked to pick up the boys from school.

I tutored at 5:00.

When I was done I met everyone at Grandma and Papa's house for dinner.  We had a nice time.

The boys are in bed now.

Here are some pics from today and yesterday.

Hello, Zayde

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We had a thunderstorm overnight.  I believe it brought hail.  At least I think that's what I heard on the windows.  It was still too wet to walk this morning.  It was threatening to rain some more so we just drove to be safe.

I went in to Aaron's to finish up a project we've been working on.  We worked through some of the details.

Rachel went into Clayton because Evan was having his Track & Field Day.  It had to be inside because of the rain.  Evan was glad to have Rachel watch.

The rain held off long enough to walk to get the boys today.  Jack came home with us for tutoring.

Just before dinner, the boys and I went and picked Zayde up from the airport.  The airport was crazy busy with all the South by Southwest people coming in.

Rachel had dinner waiting for us when we got home.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Non-stop

This morning we walked to school.  It was a little bit misty again.

I walked on the treadmill.

For lunch, I met the Pink Ribbon Cowgirls at Whole Foods.  Lenny/Papa happened to come eat lunch there at the same time.

I quickly went home and got my tutoring stuff and left.

Grandma met Noah after school for Math Pentathlon.  Morry picked up Evan and they went home.

Noah went to Grandma and Papa's after Math Pentathlon.

Morry and I needed to go to Home Depot to pick up some trees.  The boys didn't want to go, so we dropped off Evan at Grandma and Papa's, went to Home Depot, then came back to pick up both boys.  Noah wanted to have dinner with Grandma and Papa, so he stayed.

Morry, Evan, and I ate Buffalo chicken nuggets and salad for dinner.

Noah is still out with Grandma and Papa.

Misty

This morning when we walked to school it wasn't quite raining, but it was misty.

I went to the doctor this morning.  I don't have strep.  It’s pharyngitis - a virus.  She just recommended drinking tea and taking ibuprofen if needed.

I rested most of the day.

Morry and I walked to pick up the boys.

A little while later I left to tutor.

I got home around 7:15pm and we ate leftover Chinese food for dinner.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Weekend of Baseball

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This weekend was the first tournament of the spring for the Bucs.  We had games scheduled for 5:45 and 7:30 last night.  Unfortunately, all the games were running behind.  The first game didn't start until 6:30 and the second game didn't start until after 8:15.  The Bucs won both games and Evan did really well.  In fact, in the first three games of the tournament, he went 7 for 9 hitting.  He made several good fielding plays at second base, third base and center field.  So we didn't leave the fields until 10:00 last night.

The reward for winning both games last night was to play as the 4th seed at 7:45 this morning.  The tournament was in Round Rock which is 45-60 minutes away.  So we got home around 11pm last night and I woke Evan up at 5:45am this morning to get up there.  The tournament had 18 teams in it and after the results yesterday, they broke up the teams into three brackets.  By winning both games, the Bucs ended up in the top bracket with teams that are classified as AAA and Majors.  The Bucs are classified as a AA team.  In fact in the top 5 teams, the Bucs were the only AA team.

The game started at 7:45 and immediately, the Bucs jumped out in front.  Evan hit the ball well.  And he made a sliding catch of a ball in center that was tailing away from him.  The Bucs were winning by 2 going into the top of the last inning.  The other team scored 3 runs to take the lead.  The Bucs came up in the bottom of the inning.  The first batter laid down a great bunt which surprised the other team and he beat it out for an infield single.  Evan came up and laced a ball towards second which ended up hitting the runner so Evan took first and the runner was out.  Evan stole second.  The next batter struck out.  So now there were two outs and the tying run at second.  The next better got down 0-2 and swung at strike 3, but the ball got away from the catcher.  The batter ran to second and the catcher threw to first but the first baseman dropped it.  The runner was safe and Evan came around to score to tie the game.  The runner on first stole second.  Then the batter hit a single to right and the runner from second came around to score and the Bucs won the game.

We were then scheduled to play in the semifinals at 1:15.  So we all went to lunch at Rudy's.  It was a nice time.

Noah and Rachel stayed home.  Rachel was not feeling well.

After Rudy's the team played again.  The Bucs jumped up 5-0 in the top of the first.  But the other team matched with 5 runs of their own.  No matter, the Bucs came right back with three in the top of the second.  Unfortunately, the other team matched again.  In the top of the third, Evan led off the inning.  The other team put in what appeared to be their best pitcher.  This kid could throw really hard.  I'm guessing he threw 55-60 mph.  His first pitch got Evan right in the thigh.  You could hear the ball hit.  Evan was able to make it to first, and to show the other team, that it didn't bother him, he stole second on the first pitch.  The pitcher settled down and struck out the next three batters unfortunately.  The Bucs didn't give up a run in the bottom of the third.  In the 4th, which was the last inning, we got a runner to second against the kid, but no further.  The other team scored a run in the bottom of the fourth to win the game.  The Bucs played their hearts out this weekend.  I was really proud of them.

Evan ended the weekend 7-10 with one hit-by-pitch, and no strikeouts.

Noah had a birthday party in the late afternoon.  With Rachel feeling badly, a mom of one of Noah's friends took him to and from the birthday party.

We tried to take Rachel to an urgent care facility to test to see if she has strep, but apparently, urgent care facilities close to us are closed on Sundays or close early.  We would have had to drive across town.  We'll probably go in the morning.

For dinner, Evan and I picked up Chinese food.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Ready for the Weekend

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The high today was in the 80s but it was 44 when we walked to school this morning.  The boys wear sweatshirts and then take them off and hand them to us to bring home since they won't need them later in the day.

I worked from home all day.  Deborah came over with questions for Rachel for her site and spent the morning here.

Rachel and I went to Wholy Bagel for lunch.

The boys were in good moods walking home from school.  I think they were glad it was the weekend.

For dinner, we ordered Papa John's and watched Ace Ventura.  I think the boys liked it.

They are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Busy

Last night Morry was up late finishing a project for a client.

We walked to school.

Later in the morning I tutored a student at her private school.  From there, I went to a friend's house for brunch with other neighborhood moms.

Morry had a meeting this afternoon, so he was not able to walk to school to pick up the boys.

I got the the boys and shortly after Morry came home.  The plan was for the boys to go to Grandma and Papa's house if Morry wasn't home in time for me to to leave.  Even though he got home before my tutoring, the boys still wanted to go to Grandma and Papa's.  I dropped them off on my way to tutoring.

Grandma walked the boys home.

When I got home we ate dinner of leftover chicken and baked potatoes.

The kids are getting ready for bed now.

Lunch With Evan

This morning we walked to school and then I got on the treadmill.

Since I met Noah for lunch yesterday, I met Evan today.  Before leaving the house I made a waffle for him and brought some powdered sugar to go along with it.

Evan seemed happy to see me for lunch and enjoyed his waffle.  We had a nice time.

After school we walked to pick up the boys.

I did not tutor Jack and Audrey today.  Evan and Jack's class had math benchmark tests today.  So Jack was tired.  I think Audrey maybe had something else going on.

Evan and Morry went to baseball practice.

While they were gone I made meringue cookies for a brunch I'm going to tomorrow.  Noah and Calvin chilled on the couch.

We had a late dinner after Morry and Evan got home.  We ate grilled chicken and corn on the cob.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Here are a few pictures from today.

Late Night Baseball Practice

This morning we walked to school.  At home, I walked on the treadmill.

Later in the morning I went to Walgreens and then the school to vote.  I brought my lunch with me since I was going around Noah's lunchtime.   I wasn't sure how long the line would be for voting.  It turned out the line was pretty short. There were just a few people ahead of me, so I was able to eat lunch with Noah.  He was surprised to see me and very happy that I met him for lunch.  We saw Evan and his class walk by in the hallway while we were eating.  I plan on having lunch with Evan tomorrow.

Morry picked up Evan from school.  Noah had Math Pentathlon and got a ride home from Lorena.

I tutored this afternoon.

Morry and Evan left for baseball practice before 5pm and dropped off Noah at Grandma and Papa's house.

Noah had dinner at Grandma and Papa's and then they walked him home.  He ate a ton!  He had steak, baked potato, olives, jicama, pickles, and a Hawaiian roll.

Morry and Evan got home around 8pm.  We gave Evan dinner.  The boys are getting ready for bed and then we will have our dinner.
