Nico

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning we walked Noah to school.  Chewie is so funny on the walk.  He is so excited.  His tail is up the whole time, and he prances.  He loves to go to school.

When we got home, we put Chewie in the house and then we walked across the street and got Nico from our neighbors house.  Nico is a golden retriever that is 6 months older than Chewie.  Chewie loves him.  They needed someone to watch him today so we brought him to our house.  The two dogs were crazy.  They just played as much as they could.  They're both the same color, the have the same shaped face and are roughly the same size.  Nico is a little taller but they are both the same length.  Additionally, they both have black collars.  So when they were really playing, sometimes it was confusing which dog was which.  If they laid down it was easy to tell but when you just seem two dogs jump on each other, it was hard.

Rachel had to go to school early today.  They had staff meetings to get ready for the start of their school which is next week.

I left later in the morning and put the dogs in crates.  Luckily we have a second crate.

When Rachel got home, she brought Nico to his backyard and took Chewie to get Noah.  Then she brought Nico back over when she got home.  She just wasn't able to walk with both dogs and she didn't want to put Nico back in the crate.

Noah went to Grandma and Papa's after school.

I came home and Rachel left to go to tutoring just after Evan came home.  After she left, Evan and I returned Nico home and left to go to his baseball practice.

I met two fathers at a bar/restaurant during practice.  It was a nice time.

On the way home from practice I picked up Noah.

Rachel made dinner from one of those places like BlueApron (but not BlueApron).  She got the meals free as part of the blog.  This one was steak and potatoes.  It was pretty good.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

The Home Stretch

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The boys went back to school today.  They are in the home stretch of the school year.  After today, they just have 50 days of school remaining.

After walking Noah to school, Rachel and I took a longer walk.  Chewie liked going for a longer walk.  He got to see and play with two dogs on the walk, including his buddy, Nico.

Rachel's school has off for two weeks for Spring Break so she stayed home today.  I went into the office for a little while.

It was warm when we walked to get Noah from school.  On the way home, we bumped into a family who lives on our street that has a dog a bit older than Chewie.  Rachel and Noah took Chewie over to their house for the dogs to play in the backyard.

Rachel and Noah made cookies to bring to school for his birthday tomorrow.

Evan came home and was here for a bit before he went over to Grandma and Papa's where he had dinner.  Noah went outside to play with Brody.

Brody's family was going to the Circle C Park for Brody's sister's soccer practice.  Noah went with Brody to play.  Rachel and I drove over later with Chewie to get Noah.

On the way home, we stopped at Grandma and Papa's to get Evan.

Then Rachel, Noah and I ate dinner.  Noah, Rachel and Evan also iced the cookies.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Noon

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

While there was rain forecast for today, it seemed to miss us.  Noah had a field trip scheduled for today and it was a last minute call about whether they were going to go.

On the way back from dropping Noah off at school, we bumped into the dog from across the street, Nico.  Chewie had a good time playing with Nico for a little while.

I stayed home today and worked from home.

Tomorrow, I cannot get bagels with Rachel so I met her out for lunch by the Austin Tennis Academy.  We ate at a place called Noon Mediterranean. It was good and we had a nice time.

Noah told us he had a good time on his field trip when we picked up from school.

When Evan came home, I took him right to Cooper's house.  He was catching a ride with Cooper to practice.

Later I picked Evan up from Cooper's and we came home and made dinner.

Now I'm helping Evan with his homework.

Until next time...

Big Chewie

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

For the first time this week, we walked Noah to school.  It was around 27 degrees, but we still did it.  Chewie seemed to get even more energy in the cold weather.  He definitely loved it.

When we got home, we saw Karen, Nico's owner.  So I brought Chewie over to play with Nico.  They played pretty hard for about 15-20 minutes.  It caused Chewie to sleep the rest of the morning.

Rachel went to work.  We met at Wholy Bagel for lunch.

When I got home, Chad from Touch To came over to work.  Just as he got there, a woman came to buy Noah's old mattress.

Chad and I walked Chewie to get Noah.

Rachel left to tutor while we were getting Noah.  We worked for a bit more and then Noah and I left to take Chewie to his 6-month checkup.

Chewie seemed excited when we got to the vet, but the moment we got in the exam room, he got very scared.  He does not like being examined.  They weighed Chewie shortly after we entered the exam room and he weighed 54.5 pounds!  For comparison, Lizzy weighed in the low-mid 60's for most of her adult life.  As she got older she got around 70 or so, but she lost a lot of weight this past summer.  Her last appointment she was 57.  So at six months old, Chewie weighs almost as much as Lizzy did while she was full grown.  The vet thinks Chewie will be around 85-90 pounds.  We'll see, but that is huge.  We also scheduled Chewie to be neutered while we were there.

When we got home, I played football outside with Evan for a bit.

For dinner, Noah helped me make hamburgers on the grill.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...
