Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Here's what we did the last few days.

Friday
The boys and I went to an indoor mini golf and laser tag place in Round Rock.   Then, we went to Charles Maund to sign the papers for the next 30 days for my car.

We ate at home for dinner and then walked to the food trailer night.  We didn't buy anything there.

Saturday
Evan had a birthday party to go to from 10-1.  While he was there Morry got new tires for his car.

I made challah.  I thought it would be something Noah and I could do together, but he preferred to play video games.

We ate an early dinner at TLC and then we to see the live musical, The Music Man.   It was very good.

Sunday
Morry and Evan met Evan's old coach, Chris at Oak Hill to play and practice baseball.

While they were gone I went for a run and then walked Chewie.

Shortly after getting home, Morry and Evan left to see Mission Impossible.  Noah already had plans later in the day to go to the movies with Jude.

Around 1pm I dropped Noah off at Jude's and they went to the afternoon showing of Mission Impossible.  After the movie, Noah went back to Jude's for a little bit.

I picked up Noah from Jude's and we all ate dinner at home.

The boys cleaned up and then we had dessert at Bahama Bucks.

Here are some pictures from the last few days.

Morning Baseball

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, we met Josh and his dad at Oak Hill to play baseball.  Josh's dad talked to Coach Chris last night and Coach Chris met us there as well.  The boys worked out together for about an hour.  Then Evan worked for about 10 minutes on robbing home runs because he wanted to.  Chris taught him how to feel for the fence.

On the way home, we stopped and got smoothies at Smoothie King.

After lunch, Rachel met a student to tutor her.

When she got home, Rachel, Evan and I walked to the school and Evan played with the football on the field for a bit.

For dinner, we went to Tarbouch.  The boys ate really well.  We had to get a second order of the beef kabobs for the boys.

On our way home, we stopped at HEB and got food for the week.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Taking care of things

This morning we had an appointment to drop of my car at the dealer at 9am.  I drove my car there and then Morry and the boys came a few minutes later to pick me up.  My car recently hit 100,000 miles so we are getting a check up and oil change.  It's still not ready.

I took the boys to get passport photos taken.  We are planning on applying for passports tomorrow.  We don't have any international trips planned, but we figured it was a good time to get it done and have the passports ready if needed.

Wade came over during the afternoon.

Morry and Evan went to meet Coach Chris for a baseball lesson.  Shortly after they started it began to rain and lightning, so they came home.

We had corned beef, baked potato, and salad for dinner.

The boys are playing Legos now, but soon will get ready for bed.

Lots and Lots of Baseball

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The boys are going to baseball camp this week.  It's from 9am to 4pm.  Evan's friend Wade is doing a half day.  Evan's friend Josh from the Bucs is also doing and he's doing the full day with Evan and Noah.

In the morning, I picked up Wade and dropped the boys off at camp.  I talked to Josh's dad for a while.

I worked from home all day.

Rachel went to pick up the boys from camp.  When they got home, Evan was super excited to tell me their team in the wiffleball game ended when Josh hit a walk off home run with Evan and Noah on base.  Noah was the tying run and Evan was the winning run.

Rachel left to go to HEB.  While she was gone, I made the boys dinner.  Then Evan and I left to work with Coach Chris.

Evan was fairly tired, but he enjoyed working with Coach Chris.  It was good having Evan try to push through being tired and hot.  He was still pretty talkative on the way home about having fun.

Rachel got a rotisserie chicken at HEB.  It was in the oven when I got home.  The boys were hungry again so I carved off some for them.  After they ate, they went upstairs for bed and then Rachel and I ate.

The boys are sleeping now.

Until next time...

New Tires

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We all slept in a bit longer this morning after a late night.  I think we were all exhausted.

I worked all morning.  Rachel got up and called the tire shop.  We needed new back tires on the minivan.  Then she and Noah went to the tire shop and dropped the car off.  They walked over to a little deli and had some food while they were waiting.  It didn't take too long to get the tires replaced.

After that, Deborah met them and the three went for a hike.

In the afternoon, Evan worked with Coach Chris.  While we were at baseball, Rachel and Noah went to Costco.

For dinner, we ate out on the porch.  We had hamburgers.

We took a walk after dinner.  Lizzy was happy to go for a walk since she's not going to school in the morning.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Last Monday of the Year

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today was the last Monday of the school year.  The boys are down to six more days of school.  Then Evan will only have one year left of elementary school.  Time has flown.

After taking the kids to school, I left to go to HomeAway.  Aaron and I are doing a project for them.

I came home in time to walk to get the boys.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.  I took Evan to work with Coach Chris.  Noah came with us.  Chris worked with Evan and Josh at the same time.  The kids have so much fun working with him.

After that, we went to dinner at Via 313.  Grandma and Papa had friends visiting and so we met them at Via 313.  The food was very good.  The boys ate well and were behaved.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Vacation Officially Over

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Our vacation officially ended at 6:25am when our alarm went off and we had to get up to take the boys to school.  Evan had to get dressed in khakis and a button-down shirt because the fourth and fifth graders were going to the symphony today.

We stayed home most of the morning.  Rachel did things around the house.  I ended up having to run into HomeAway because the stuff I needed to connect to their network didn't work.  Their IT guy was not helpful at all.

I stopped at Smoothie King on the way home.

Rachel left to tutor and I walked to pick up the boys from school.

After Rachel tutored, she met some friends from junior high for dinner.  One of the women was coming in from out of town and Rachel had seen her since junior high.  She moved away at that time.  The other woman lives up in Georgetown.  They went to Hula Hut.

Evan met with Coach Chris today.  Noah came with us.  Josh and his dad met us there and Chris worked with both of them.

For dinner we stopped at Popeye's.

Evan is watching the Penguins play now.  Noah is upstairs.  They will get ready for bed soon.

Until next time...

Around the house

Today we walked the boys to school, like usual.

I stayed home getting stuff done around the house.

We walked to get the boys from school.  Jude asked Noah to come over after school, so he went home with them.

I went to tutor and Morry and Evan met Coach Chris.  I picked up Noah on my way home.

We just had dinner - leftovers from the week.

In a little bit I'm going to a friend's house for a Cinco de Mayo party for other moms in the neighborhood.

More Baseball

This morning we walk to school, like usual.

I went for a run.

Morry had a lunch meeting.

I did some work during the day and got some things done around the house.

We walked to pick up the kids from school.  Before heading home, we went in the school for the book fair.  The boys picked out a few books and Evan insisted on buying a book for one of his teachers.  He picked out a novel for his teacher to keep in the classroom.  The teacher was at the book fair so Evan handed him the book as we were leaving.  He seemed surprised and thanked Evan for the gift.

We walked home.

A little while later, I needed to leave for tutoring.  Since Evan had a baseball lesson with Chris, Noah had a choice to come with me or them.  He chose to come with me to tutoring.

We all got home around the same time and then made dinner - grilled chicken and couscous.

The boys are in bed now.

Non Stop

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Noah stayed home from school again this morning.  We probably could have sent him, but I think it would have been pushing it.  He hadn't eaten in more than 24 hours.  We wanted to see him take it easy for one more day.

Meanwhile, just as Evan and I were about to leave to go to school, the skies opened up.  We drove and parked out front and ran in.  Even in that short distance, we got pretty wet.

Later in the morning, I went to get my hair cut.  After that I went into Aaron's to go over some things.

From Aaron's, I met Coach Chris, the coach who works with Evan sometimes for lunch at Austin Pizza Garden.  During the day, Chris works at a startup tech company.  He had some questions for me and wanted to talk about potential projects.  It was a good lunch.

Rachel walked to get Evan when I got home.  She hadn't been out of the house all day.

Rachel left to go tutor later in the afternoon.  As she was leaving the family cancelled.  Rachel went to Walmart to get some things she needed (she had some coupons).

Evan and I left just as Rachel was coming home to go work out with Coach Chris.

For dinner we had pasta.

The boys will be getting ready for bed soon.

Until next time...

Happy Pooch

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Evan had a workout with Coach Chris.  Again he worked on pitching.  Coach Chris worked with him a bit on a curve ball but it's kind of advanced.  He also taught Evan how to throw a cut fastball.  Evan seemed to get a hang of that and Coach Chris said he threw it very well.

We stopped at Smoothie King on the way home.

As soon as we got home, Rachel had waffle batter made and we all ate waffles.

We cleaned up and left to go to Emma Long Park which is a leash-less 3 mile hike so we brought Lizzy.  Throughout the entire hike you keep crossing the creek.  Lizzy was in heaven.  She was running like I hadn't seen her run in years.  She was running back and forth across the creek, running ahead, although she would never get too far from us.  The boys would run ahead with her too.  After about 2 miles throughout the hike which was hilly at times, Lizzy finally started to slow down.  She did really well though and seemed to be so happy.

We came home, got cleaned up and then went and picked Grandma and Papa up for dinner.  We went to Buffet Palace which is an Asian Buffet.  Rachel and I had been there years ago but hadn't been back.  Someone highly recommended it to us.  It was ok.  The food was surprisingly fresh and didn't have that buffet feel.  But it wasn't anything special.

From there we went back to Grandma and Papa's and played Cranium.

We're home now and the boys are in bed.

Until next time...

Mr. Pitcher

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning Rachel and Noah went for a 3 mile run.  Rachel said that Noah ended up walking quite a bit but it was such a nice morning and she was glad that he wanted to get out of the house.

Meanwhile, I took Evan to work with Coach Chris.  Rather than hitting, they focused on pitching today.  Evan did very very well.  Coach Chris worked with him on bring his arm further back to add velocity.  He then taught him a changeup called the circle change.  Chris came up to me afterwards to gush about the movement on the changeup.  He said for sure that if Evan uses that in the game, it's a definite out pitch.  He was really impressed with Evan's ability to throw it and have control.  He said it's dropping down and in on the right handers.

Evan and I stopped at Smoothie King on the way home.  We had leftover pizza when we got home.

Later in the afternoon, Evan, Noah and I played football outside.

At dinner time, we drove out to the Galleria.  We stopped at a place where Noah will be going for a week long camp in the summer.  It's a cooking camp.  Then we went to Madam Mam's, a Thai restaurant, for dinner.  After dinner, we walked around the Galleria.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Terrific Student

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Last night, Evan stayed over Jack's house with Wade and Ethan.  Noah stayed over at Grandma and Papa's.  So Rachel and I went out.  We had a nice dinner.  We walked to a place called Voodoo Doughnuts.  Apparently it is a Portland, Oregon institution and the first one they opened out of state was here in Austin.  They are known for their crazy doughnuts.  They were huge too.  Rachel got one with chocolate icing, peanut butter drizzle and Oreos on top.  I got one with chocolate icing and Oreos.

This morning we had to get up early.  Even though it's Saturday, Noah's teacher scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences.  The teacher wanted the students there for the conference.  We picked up Noah on our walk and then had the conference.  Noah's teacher said that Noah was a "terrific student" and that Noah was a "math genius".  She wanted to know if Noah had anyone that was good at math in his family.  We said only his entire family.  She could not say enough good stuff about Noah.

On the way home, we stopped and got Evan.

Evan and I went a little later to a batting lesson with Coach Chris.  Meanwhile, Rachel, Noah and Grandma went to Costco.

This afternoon, Rachel and Evan went for a bike ride to the Veloway.

For dinner, I picked up Pho Thai Son.  When I got home, they got the order somewhat wrong.  So Noah and I went out to pick up the mistake.  We watched Hotel Transylvania 2 while having dinner.

The boys are now in bed.

Until next time...

Day Before the Marathon

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Rachel went to a garage sale to buy cheap shirts and sweatshirts.  It's going to be 38 degrees at the start of the race but it will get warm fairly quickly.  She wants something that she can take off and throw along the side of the road.  Apparently, this is common and they come and pick up the clothes that people have left and give it to the homeless.  Rachel was able to get a shirt and a sweatshirt so she could be layered for a dollar each.

I took Evan to meet with Coach Chris for a hitting lesson at noon.  Chris said that it looked like Evan hadn't taken any time off.  Evan really enjoyed it.

We stopped at Office Depot and then Smoothie King on the way home.

We hung out at the house all afternoon.

For dinner we went to Olive Garden so Rachel could carb load.  Then we took Evan over to Josh's house.  He'll be staying over there tonight.

Until next time...

Zayde Goes Home

This morning we walked the boys to school.  It was very foggy outside.

Morry and Zayde went to breakfast at Kerbey Lane and then Morry took Zayde to the airport.  From there, Morry went to a meeting.

Deborah came over for a little while until it was time to get the boys.  She came to hang out and work on her computer.

I left to tutor while Morry went to school.  He picked up Evan and Jack since John wasn't feeling well.  Noah was staying at school for Math Pentathlon.

Morry and Evan left for baseball. Noah stayed home. I came home a little while later.

When Morry and Evan got home we grilled/baked our steak and fish and then ate dinner.

The boys are ready for bed now.

Late Baseball

This morning we walked to school.

Morry took his car in for an oil change and then went to Aaron's.

We both walked to school to get the boys.

Right after we got home I left to tutor.

I came home and Morry and Evan left to meet Chris for baseball.  They got home around 8:15 and then Morry grilled hamburgers for dinner.

Evan is finishing his homework and then the boys will get ready for bed.

Outdoors

This morning Evan and Morry met Chris to practice some baseball.

They stopped and got smoothies on the way home.

For lunch we made waffles and then went to the park for a little bit.

Around 5pm we went to Costco. The boys ate there while I shopped.  Morry and I picked up Chuy's for us on the way home.

We ate our dinner while the kids played.

Then, we took a walk.

Soon, the boys will get ready for bed.

First Regular Day of School

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today was the first regular day of school.  Just a standard day of dropping the kids off.  We didn't go in the school.  I had to wake the kids up who each were in a deeper sleep than yesterday morning.   But the biggest thing that made this a regular day was Lizzy walked with us to school.  I shouldn't say walk, I should say trotted the entire way to school.  Her tail was straight up and wagging.  She was so happy.  She got to see some of the kids who love her and she got to see her golden retriever puppy friend, Brody.  Brody, however, is no longer a puppy but basically a full grown golden.  They seemed happy to see each other.  And Lizzy walked better this morning since at least before her surgery, but I'd almost go as far as to say, I hadn't seen her with this much energy since well before her surgery.

When we got home, Rachel went for a run.

I went into Aaron's later to work on some HomeAway stuff.

In the afternoon, I came home.  Rachel was at a pilates class.  When she got home, we walked to get the boys.  We left Lizzy at home because it was really hot.

The boys did their homework when they got home.  Evan said the homework that one of his teacher's assigned to him was "fun".

In the late afternoon, Noah went with Rachel to tutor and I took Evan to work with Coach Chris on some hitting.  Evan seemed to do really well and enjoy it.

For dinner we made pizza.

The boys are in bed now.  Until next time...

Bowling and Baseball

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We hired a tree service to trim all of our trees.  All of them needed to be trimmed.  Some of the ones closest to the house were scraping the gutters and roof so we needed to get them trimmed.  I wanted to wait until winter but when we saw the branches hit the house we knew we had to get it done sooner.  They came this morning at 9am to start trimming.

Rachel went for a run when she got up and then made the boys lunch.

Lorena and Owen invited Rachel, Evan and Noah to go bowling as well as the other boys in Noah's group of friends.  Evan invited his friend Josh from the baseball team.  They had to pick up Josh on the way to the bowling alley.  They all had a blast.  Rachel said all six boys got along really well.  Josh is going into fifth grade and Rachel said he was really good with the second graders.  Noah won the second game they bowled beating out Evan and Josh.  I think they used bumpers in the gutters but still, he won which is great.

Afterwards, Josh came home with them because Josh and Evan (and another boy, Jacob) had a baseball lesson with Coach Chris.  They worked on pitching.  Evan and Josh convinced Noah to come and watch, so he was out at the fields with us.

We came home and had leftovers again for dinner.

The boys are now in bed.

Until next time...

Lots of Activities

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We were able to submit the Your Trainer app last night around 11pm.  It was good to finish that.  I had another deadline with Hey Cupcake today that I was able to finish up.  Because of that I stayed home most of the day.

Around 9:30, Wade's mom came and picked up Evan and Noah.  Wade invited the boys plus Nathan to go to Wazoo's which is a jumpy place.  After Wazoo's, they all went back to Wade's for a while.

Rachel went to Whole Foods for Pink Ribbon Cowgirls lunch.  It sounded like she had a good time. On her way home, she picked up the boys from Wade's.

I went to Hey Cupcake for a meeting in the afternoon.

Evan had a coaching session with Coach Chris today.  It was just him so they worked on hitting for more than an hour.  It went well.  As always, Evan was in a great mood afterwards.

For dinner we had a pork tenderloin that Rachel made in the crock pot.

We went to for a walk and now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...
