Goodbye Rachel

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Rachel left for Dallas this evening after her tutoring. She'll be back on Saturday, most likely. It's just the boys and me for Thursday and Friday.

This morning, I walked Evan to school. Actually Evan ran much of the way. He'd run ahead and wait for me to catch up. He always stopped before a curve or a corner so I could see him. It's amazing because he was very tired when I got him up. Also it was especially humid this morning.

Rachel took Noah to school. He was fine this morning but gave Rachel a hard time after she picked him up from school.

Rachel left the house at 4:00 to go tutor.

On my way home, I picked up two movies from Redbox. I got Rio and Megamind. I don't have a babysitter for Noah in the morning. So I wanted to do something to keep him occupied. When I got home, we made popcorn and started Rio. Then I ordered a pizza and we ate pizza while watching it. At the end of the movie, we heard the ice cream truck so we want outside. Noah got a popsicle and Evan got a sno-cone.

After dessert, we came up and I read to the boys and put them to bed. They are in their rooms now.

Until next time...

Wonders and Worries with Noah

This morning at 8:30 a woman from a flooring company came to measure our downstairs. She said she'll send an estimate soon.

Then, at 10am Noah and I went to Wonders and Worries. Noah had a meeting with Ali. Ali said Noah did well. We'll see him again next week. After a few sessions I'll sit down with Ali and discuss what he thinks we do from there.

After that we went to HEB. Noah was very good there.

We ate lunch at home and a little while later it was time to get Evan. We drove/walked again. I drove to the path and then we walked the path to the school. Like always Evan and Noah were happy to see each other.

We came home and then left the house again at 3:40. I was tutoring at the library and trying out a new babysitter. I had the babysitter meet us at the library. Kim played with Evan and Noah there. I brought a bag of snacks and activities. They also have a playground at the library too. Morry picked the boys up on his way home from work.

Morry and the kids got McDonalds for dinner.

I came home around 7:45. Morry had given the boys baths and was reading to them.

They are supposed to be in bed now, but I hear a lot of running around upstairs.

More record breaking heat

So, yesterday we broke the record high. It was 112 degrees yesterday.

Today was really hot too. We are now at 74 days of 100 degree weather this year. That's very unusual.

I thought if I'd run early enough it would be ok. Wrong. I tried to do 5 miles but did a bunch of walking.

Noah and Evan did fine at school drop off.

Noah was happy when I picked him up. We ran a few errands (Postmark'd, bank) before getting Evan. Since it was 105 at 2pm I decided not to walk the whole way to school. We parked on a street behind the school and took a back path to pick Evan up. It was still a little bit of walking, but not as bad as walking the whole way.

Noah was very happy to see Evan and they both hugged the teacher goodbye.

Gabby came at 3:45 and I tutored.

I got home at 7pm. Morry made a stir fry meal for us and it was ready when I got home.

We are now going upstairs to get the boys ready for bed.

Bowling

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

On Friday, when Evan and I were walking to school, I asked him what he wanted to do this weekend. He said he wanted to go bowling. We figured Sunday morning was probably the least crowded time to go. The boys were very excited to go. They got dressed when I asked them without arguing with me.

Rachel, of course, found coupons for free games. They allowed us to use as many as we wanted. So we bowled for just the cost of the rental shoes - a total of $10. The boys did very well bowling. They can each carry the ball themselves this time and put it on the line. We even taught them how to put their fingers in the holes properly. Evan probably could have bowled with one hand but he felt more comfortable bowling with two. Rachel had the game of her life getting a turkey (three strikes in a row). Ironically, on the 10th frame, the power went out to the hole bowling alley. I told her that she hadn't won then. But the power came back on. They were fixing some lanes and probably either blew a circuit or cut the power to the whole alley rather than the stuff they were working on.

We came home and the boys played and then we had lunch. Before lunch, some kids from the neighborhood came selling cookie dough. I was paying for it and they saw our air hockey and foosball tables. Evan, Noah and the two boys played air hockey together. Everyone seemed to have fun.

This afternoon, I did work on the computer while the boys "rested" in the game room.

For dinner, we just made pasta because it was quick. The kids had baths and now are in their rooms getting ready for the second week of school.

Until next time..

Tutoring and Errands

This morning we went to another flooring place and looked and samples of hardwood floors and tile. The lady will come by our house on Tuesday and measure. She had a little dog in the store with her. Evan and Noah liked playing with the dog.

We had lunch at home.

Morry and the boys went to run errands. They went to Dick's Sporting Goods and got new baseball/football shoes for Evan and a glove for Morry. They also went to Lowes.

While they were gone I had a student come to the house for tutoring.

We took it easy this afternoon and went to Logans for dinner tonight. Evan kept saying how good the food was. The boys loved the peanuts and Evan especially enjoyed the bread they have there. He kept saying over and over again how good the bread was.

Morry is reading to the boys now and then they will hopefully go to sleep.

First week done

Well, we made it through the week with no problems. Both boys had a good time at school this week.

Morry dropped off Evan and I dropped off Noah at school.

I ran 3 miles.

After I picked up Noah we went to HEB to pick up a few things.

I quickly put away the groceries at home, made a smoothie for all of us, and walked to get Evan at school.

Noah is always very excited to see Evan. Both Evan and Noah gave the teacher a hug when we were leaving.

We took it easy at home this afternoon.

For dinner we ate at Mandolas. After dinner we went to the Little Gym. They were having an open house/open play tonight. We stayed for a little bit. Both boys had fun, but Noah peed in his pants there. It was very embarrassing. We could tell he needed to go and asked him several times but he wouldn't go to the bathroom. Luckily we had a change of clothes in the car for him.

We just got home and now we are going to get the boys ready for bed.

Sports Class

Morry said Evan was pretty tired this morning. On the way to school Evan unzipped a pocket in his pants and found a quarter. He was very excited about it.

Noah and I stayed home most of the morning. I did some cleaning.

On the way to Noah's 12:30 sports class it started to rain. It rained for about 5 minutes and it was coming down pretty hard. Noah was so happy. He was excited to see rain. It's been a while for us.

We tried out a sports class at the Little Gym today. Morry met us there. Noah had a great time and said he wanted to go back. They do a different sport every few weeks. Today was soccer.

We'll start him in the class in 2 weeks. He'll go every Thursday at 12:30.

Noah and I came home for a little bit. Then, it was time to get Evan.

Evan was tired, but happy.

When we got home the boys wanted me to make them shaved ice again. So, I did. Then, they had a little bit of quiet time upstairs.

For dinner we had pizza.

The boys are in bed now and it seems to be quiet.

Still doing well

Morry walked Evan to school today.

I dropped off Noah at his school at 9am.

I ran 3 miles and got some things done around the house.

After I picked up Noah we went to Bed Bath and Beyond and then drove to pick up Evan. We parked on the road across the street from the school. We had to walk just a little bit, but leaving the school was tough. Cars were backed up trying to get into the pick up area and there wasn't a way to get around them. I had to pretty much do a u-turn and go through neighborhood streets to get home. We were home only 5 minutes earlier than yesterday, when we walked.

At home I made shaved ice for the boys. The blender I have makes ice into powder and we got some snow cone syrup at Bed Bath and Beyond today. The boys loved it.

For dinner Morry grilled. He had bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and I had salmon. We also made a sweet potato and a baked potato. Guess who had which?

Evan kept insisting that Morry wanted shaved ice tonight. Really, Evan just wanted it again. So, I made shaved ice for all of us tonight. The boys ate all of theirs.

Evan and Noah are supposed to be in bed now. At 8:30 we are turning out the lights.

Day 2

Morry walked Evan to school this morning. He said Evan seemed a little tired this morning. Drop off went well though.

Today, it was just Noah and me. It's been a while since we spent the day together. Maybe this will help some of his behavior problems.

We met the Moms Club playgroup for kids Noah age at Barnes and Noble. There was storytelling at 10:30 and then Noah played at the train table.

After that we went to Newflower (called Sunflower now) and picked up a few groceries. Noah insisted I buy bean sprouts.

When we got home I folded laundry while Noah played then we had lunch together. Noah ate all of the bean sprouts I bought today.

We walked to pick up Evan. I took a few short cuts and it only took 15 minutes to get there. We we were there early and talked to some other parents and siblings. Noah's friend Ella was there, but Noah was being really shy and covering his face with his hat. When Evan's class came out Noah ran up to see Evan.

Evan was in a good mood, but tired. He sat in the stroller the whole way home.

Once we were home, he and Noah had a good time playing together for a little. Then, I had them have a quiet time for a little bit. Noah stayed in the guest bedroom and Evan was in the game room.

For dinner we had tacos. Noah is still eating his food. We all finished a while ago and cleaned up but he's still messing around eating/playing.

Soon we'll go upstairs and get them to bed.

First Day of School

We woke up the boys at 6:30am this morning.

Evan ate oatmeal, fruit, and orange juice for breakfast. Noah said he wanted to wait and eat when we got back home.

We left the house around 7:15am and walked to school. Noah insisted on walking instead of sitting in the stroller. He hardly ever walks, so we didn't plan on that slowing us down. It took a lot longer than we thought to get to school. We got there a few minutes before the start of school. Evan put his backpacks with the others and then sat down at a table and began coloring with the other kids. He was fine. We had to get his attention to tell him we were leaving.

We walked back home and then a little before 9am we drove Noah to school. Noah was a little more clingy than Evan. He still did well. It wasn't much of a transition for him. He moved classrooms but still had once of the same teachers. A few of the kids were same as well.

I came home and ran 2 miles, cleaned up and then went to a brunch. The Moms Club was having a Boo Hoo/Yah Hoo brunch at someone's house for all the moms that just sent their kids off to kindergarten. I stayed for maybe an hour. It was nice chatting with the other moms.

I had a little bit of time at home. I cleaned up some, ate lunch and then it was time to pick up Noah. His class was outside on the playground and he was having a fun time going down the slide. When it came time to leave Noah threw a fit. I told him we'd go home for a little bit and then pick up Evan. Well, he wanted to pick up Evan right then. He was screaming and crying that he wanted to go to the kindergarten and not go home first. It was not fun. He just picks something and decides he's going to throw a fit.

I gave him a Popsicle at home and that seemed to calm him down a little bit.

We were home for about 30-45min and then we had to leave to get Evan.

We walked because I knew the car traffic would be nuts on the first day.

We got there about 15 minutes early and chatted with some other moms and siblings of kindergarteners. They had all the kindergarten parents wait outside at a certain part of the building. Then, one by one the classes came out. Noah was very excited to see Evan. Evan seemed happy, but very tired.

Evan sat in the stroller the whole way home. Once we got home he got a burst of energy and both boys were really hyper.

For dinner Morry made grilled chicken and corn. The boys had shrimp and corn along with some other things.

Overall it was a good day. I think it will take a little time to get into a routine and figure out a good schedule for us. Tomorrow we will let Noah sleep in. Morry plans on walking Evan to school in the morning. I'll have to decide whether to drive or walk to pick him up. It was a pretty hot walk after school today.

here are some pictures... the videos are being uploaded now. I'll add them soon.

Getting Ready for the Big Day

This morning we took it easy. The boys played in the game room for a lot of the morning.

We ate lunch/brunch at home and then went to Matt and Rachael's house for Molly's birthday party.

Evan and Noah had fun playing with the kids. We had cupcakes and they had a pinata for the kids. It was a good time.

We were home for a little bit this afternoon and then went to HEB to get everything for this week.

Tomorrow Evan starts kindergarten. We wanted to make sure we had everything food wise for the week.

For dinner we had leftovers from Mongolian Barbeque and then started getting things ready for school for this week.

The plan is to wake up at 6:30 tomorrow morning and walk to school at 7:15am. We'll see how it goes. We told the boys it was lights out at 9pm. It's 9:00 now, so I need to go up and turn off the lights.

Spy Kids

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Rachel had scheduled a tutoring session with a student at noon. Since Rachel was going to be gone, I thought I'd take the boys to see a movie. Evan told me that he wanted to see Spy Kids because the commercial made it look like "awesome sauce".

We left the house around 10:15am. I let the boys pretend to play on the video games before we got popcorn and went into the theater. The movie was incredibly stupid. It was not for adults at all. The boys seemed to really enjoy it though. Afterwards, Evan told me he wanted to buy the DVD.

On the way home, we stopped at Boone Elementary school. They had registration going on for the fall season of Little League. Evan wants to play both football and baseball. So I signed him up for baseball.

When we got home, the boys ate and Rachel and I worked on our computers.

For dinner we went to Mongolian Barbecue. Evan has been asking to go. He insisted he'd eat there this time. The last two times we went he didn't eat the food we got him. He ate more this time, but not that well. Noah didn't eat much at all. They both liked being downtown though.

When we pulled into the garage, we heard a woman trying to get our attention. There was a couple who were pushing to girls in a double stroller. She told us they were our new neighbors and wanted to get to know us. We went outside and talked to them. They were from Cleveland by way of Chicago and then Cedar Park (a northern suburb of Austin). He told me he was a Browns fan. I expressed sympathy. Their girls were 2 and 4. All four kids played together. At first Noah, was just playing with sidewalk chalk while Evan and the two girls played hide and seek. Then they all played together with sidewalk chalk. Noah somehow became a smurf. His legs and arms were completely blue. He also had taken off his shirt so his stomach was slightly blue too.

After talking with them, we went inside and gave the kids baths.

They are now in their rooms. Until next time...

Meet the Teachers

We went to Morry's work today and then went out to lunch together. We figured this would be last work day for a while that Evan could come to Morry's work. The boys liked playing at Morry's desk. We ate lunch at Craig O's. It was a great place for the kids. The owner came over and gave the boys dough balls and a chocolate chip cookie. There was also a chalkboard on the wall behind us that they could draw on.

We dropped Morry off at work and then went to Barnes and Noble. I read some Hawaii books while the boys played at the train table.

We were home for a little bit and then I was time to go to the open houses at the school.

First, we went to Evan's school. His teacher seems really nice. We have heard really good things about him.

Then, at Noah's school we spent a lot of time. Noah and Ms. Terry were very happy to see each other. There were a lot of kids and their siblings playing in the room. Noah seemed totally comfortable even though it was a new room for him.

Morry got the boys dinner ready while I ran out to pick up our food at Blue Bamboo and I got more food for Lizzy while I was out.

We just finished dinner.

Tonight is clean up night. Well, really it should have been last night. The boys have a lot of cleaning up to do.

Here's a video from today.

Last Swim Lesson with Ms Kathy

This morning we had our last swim lesson. Evan and Noah did well. See the video below. They made huge improvements. It was definitely worth it.

After swimming I dropped them off at Clubhouse for Kids so I could get a few things done.

When I picked them up we went to Target so the boys could pick out a toy. I promised they could get a small toy when we finished swimming lessons. Noah picked out 3D sidewalk chalk and Evan picked a Steelers Roethlisberger figure.

Noah was very cranky this afternoon and eventually fell asleep in the hallway on the floor for a little bit.

When Morry got home we walked to Evan's new school to see the class/teacher list. They said they'd post it after 5 today. Evan has Mr. Valdes and there is one girl we know in the class with him. We will go tomorrow to meet the teacher and drop off school supplies.

For dinner we had hamburger sliders.

Morry and the boys are watching the Steelers game right now.

Fun in the Sun - Water Day

This morning we went to swim lessons from 10 - 10:30. Again, the boys did really well. They dove through a hula hoop, swam a lot, and went down the slide. The video is below.

Then, we came home and quickly got ready for Volente Beach. Volente Beach is a small water park on the lake. We decided to go today thinking it would be less crowded during the week. Morry got off work early so he could go with us.

We picked up Morry from work and then headed over to Volente Beach. It was not crowded at all. Evan and Noah had a great time. Evan only went on one of the slides, but both boys had fun swimming in the pool, and doing other various activities for the kids. We stayed there until about 6pm.

On the way home we ate at Chick Fil A for dinner.

We are all very exhausted. Noah started misbehaving tonight and made things very difficult.

Let's hope everyone gets a good sleep. We all need it.

Bonus day with Michael and Jen

Last night, right after I had put the sheets and towels in the washing machine, we got a text from Michael. They were still at the airport and their flight had been canceled. The next flight wasn't leaving until today.

Morry went and got them at the airport and they spent the night at our house last night.

The earliest flight they could get back to Seattle was 1pm today.

I took the boys to swimming and when we came home we took Michael and Jen to the airport.

We ate lunch at home and then took it easy the rest of the day.

For dinner we made various leftovers and salad.

Noah is still eating, but as soon as he finishes we'll give the boys baths and put them to bed.

Monday, August 15, 2011

Playing with Uncle Mike and Aunt Jen

I ran 3 miles with the boys in the stroller this morning.

We went to swim lessons at 10am. Evan and Noah did well and Noah didn't cry at all today. Below is video from the swim lesson today.

The rest of the day we hung out at home. Michael and Jen were still here and they boys loved playing with them. Lauren and Garrett came over for a while this afternoon as well. We all had a nice time.

Evan and Noah seemed a little sad when Michael and Jen left to go to the airport around 4pm.

For dinner we had pasta and salad.

In a few minutes we'll start getting the boys ready for bed.

Aaron and Mandy's Wedding

This morning we went to Aaron and Mandy's wedding. It was nice seeing everyone.

After the wedding and party, on the way back to the car we stopped and got smoothies at Smoothie King.

At home Grandma, Papa, and Bubbe packed up their things and left a little while later.

Michael and Jen are still here. They leave tomorrow.

Here are few pictures from today and the dinner last night.

Hanging out

This morning we took it easy at home. Papa made challah French toast for everyone. We had a nice brunch here at the house.

Morry had a meeting to go to.

We went to Deep Eddie Pool. They have a very large shallow section that the boys enjoyed. Both Evan and Noah did very well. They were swimming a little and jumping in off the side.

On our way back home Grandma, Papa, and Uncle Mike stopped at Rudy's to get barbeque for everyone.

Noah actually took a nap today. He fell asleep on the couch in the game room.

Mandy and Aaron's rehearsal dinner was tonight. The plan was for Morry to stay home with the boys and the rest of us would go to the dinner. As I was trying to leave the house Noah threw a fit that he didn't want me to leave. If I left without him Morry would have had a hard time dealing with Noah and his tantrum. So, I ended up taking Noah with me. He did very well and was entertained by the cat.

Morry and Evan had a boys night at home. They got pizza and watched a movie.

We got home a little after 10. The boys are in bed now, but not yet asleep.

Friday, August 12, 2011

Full House

This morning I did more cleaning, straightening up, etc. Then around lunch time the boys and I went to the gym to go swimming. I packed a lunch for us to eat there. The boys were very good and had fun.

After swimming we went to HEB.

I tried to get the boys to nap but they didn’t. I tried putting Noah in Evan’s room since I had already changed Noah’s sheets, but Evan wanted to be in there with him.

Late afternoon everyone came over. First Grandma, Papa, and Bubbe. Not long after that Uncle Mike and Aunt Jen arrived. Evan and Noah loved getting all the attention.

For dinner we went to a barbeque place called Uncle Billy’s.

We just got home and put the boys the bed.

Swim, Door, Tutor, ...

First I ran with the boys in the stroller.

Then, John came to start refinishing our door and outside shutters.

I took the boys to swimming. They did well. Noah still won't jump off the waterfall on his own. He didn't like that part, but seemed to do well with the other swimming. I promised the boys we could get Blizzy's (shaved ice) later in the afternoon since they had a good swimming week.

Morry came home at lunch time. We had the floor lady come by to measure the house and show us some samples.

Then, at 1pm I had a student come for tutoring.

Noah actually napped.

I woke him up around 4pm and we went to Blizzy's.

After Blizzy's we went to the bank and then Panera to pick up my dinner.

The boys and I were by ourselves tonight. Morry had a meeting. I made mac and cheese for the boys and ate my Panera's.

Evan and Noah are eating their Panera cookie and then I'll get them ready for bed.

Swim Lessons and Wonders and Worries

This morning I ran with the boys in the stroller.

Today we had swim lesson number 3. The boys were excited to go. They both did really well at first. Then, when it was time to go to the bottom of the pool Noah got upset. After he did it, he was fine and very proud of himself. Towards the end, Ms. Kathy had the kids jumping (or being thrown) off the waterfall ledge and swimming to her. You can see it a little bit in the video. I had to throw Noah because he didn't want to jump. At the end of class I asked if they each wanted another turn on the waterfall and they both said yes.

At home we got ready for the carpet cleaning people. We ate lunch and then they came around 2pm. We got all of our carpets cleaned, the tile in the kitchen cleaned, and also our couch.

We had our last Wonders and Worries tonight. The kids got to do water games (water balloons, ...) and they had a good time.

The boys got McDonalds on the way home. When they finish eating we'll put them to bed.

More Swimming and The Fire Station

We had another swim lesson today. As we were walking up the steps to get to the pool I could already hear kids screaming and crying. Evan did well from the start. Noah starting throwing a fit right away. I told him I would only hold him after his turns if he didn't cry. That actually helped. Then, about in the middle of the lesson after Noah's turn he ran up to me and said "She didn't hold me and I swam without floaties." He was so proud of himself and after that he did fine. Over and over today he kept asking, "Can you believe I swam without floaties today?" So, we are making progress. Let's hope he keeps this up tomorrow.

Morry worked from home today.

When we came home Noah couldn't wait to tell Morry about swimming.

At 4pm we met the moms club at the fire station near us. We got a tour, safety video, and the kids got to climb on the fire truck.

When we got home got dinner ready and then ate.

We had our clean up night tonight since we are getting the carpet cleaned tomorrow.

Now we are going upstairs to get the kids ready for bed.

10 Years!

I ran 3 miles pushing the boys in the stroller.

Then, at 10am we had our first swim lesson with Ms. Kathy. There were 9 kids of various ages in the class. Evan was one of the oldest and best. There was a girl who was maybe 8 or 9 and she swam a little better than Evan. Evan was the only one who didn't cry. There was a ton of crying. She said that's typical and gets better over time. To encourage Noah I told him he could decide where to get ice cream when we were done. He chose McDonalds.

After McDonalds we went to Target and ran into Morry there. I didn't know he was going to be there and the boys were super excited to see him.

At 4pm Gabby came over. I had a meeting with an MBSquared client to talk about marketing, social media, and other suggestions.

Then, Morry and I met for dinner at the Mansion at Judges Hill. Today is the 10 year anniversary of our first date. 10 Years! We had a nice dinner.

When we got home the boys were happy and already and already in their pajamas. They are still playing in their rooms.

Tomorrow is another swim lesson. I'll let you know how it goes.

Here's a video from today's swim lesson.

Work Work Work

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Noah slept in very late. He had gotten up in the middle of the night saying that he an alarm had woken him up. Rachel went in his room but no alarm was going off. The sprinklers were running, so perhaps, that's what he had heard in his sleep.

With Noah sleeping in, Evan was quiet and allowed Rachel and I to sleep in, which was nice. When we did get up, Rachel got ready to go running. She decided to go to the track at the high school and bring Evan and Noah and let them play on the football field in the middle while she ran around. The boys seemed to enjoy it. Evan ran for a bit with Rachel.

When they got home, I made challah french toast and cut up fruit for brunch.

After that, Rachel spent the afternoon cleaning the house while I did some work on the computer.

For dinner, we just had pasta.

The boys are now in their rooms but not asleep yet. Until next time...

Successful Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Rachel got up with the boys and let me sleep. She got them all ready and went for a run. While Rachel was running, Evan asked to get out and run with Rachel. He ran along side Rachel for a mile...all while only wearing Crocs to run in! Rachel said they walked a tiny bit but for the most part, he ran a mile today. He was really proud.

We decided to run a number of errands today. The first place we went to was Academy Sports to sign Evan up for the NFL flag football league. Noah is just a bit too young for it. Next year, I'll be able to sign him up.

After Academy, we drove up north to go to a flooring place. Our carpet is builder grade carpet and 7 years old. It looks terrible, especially downstairs. We've been talking about putting all new flooring in the downstairs. When we got to the flooring place, they said they had a play room with video cameras in it. All over the store there were monitors so you could look into the playroom. We spent a long time there looking at all of our options. The woman is going to come to our house and measure on Thursday and we'll get a better sense of how much this might cost.

From there, we decided to go to RunTex. We had a gift certificate and I needed new sneakers. But before we went there, we stopped at 7-Eleven for Slurpees. The boys were very happy. They had been really good at the flooring place and deserved it.

We weren't at RunTex long but I did get shoes. I told the salesman that Evan had run a mile and that he'd be needing running shoes soon. He recommended a place by our house called 1379 for kids running shoes. We decided to go by there.

It was a good thing we went to 1379 as Evan is now wearing a size 1 (he was previously a kids size 13) and Noah had to get a size 9.5 (he was previously at 8.5). It seemed like a great store and the boys really enjoyed themselves there. They were having a huge sale and we got some really nice sneakers for the boys for 50% off. Rachel was also able to find some running shorts there.

For dinner, we went to Carino's. The boys were really good there and Evan ate all his food. Noah ate some calamari.

Rachel is giving the boys baths now while brownies are baking in the oven.

Until next time...

Night at the Golf Course

This morning Evan, Noah, and I went swimming at the gym. They were both really good.

After that we went to HEB.

We came home and had lunch and I tried to get Noah to nap.

At 6pm we went to the golf course near our house. Once a month they have life music and this month the event was benefiting Evan's new school. I took the boys and packed a picnic dinner. Morry met us there and bought a hamburger for himself there. Evan and Noah had a great time running around. There were lots of other kids there. We saw a lot of people we knew.

We came home and had a smoothie and then put the boys to bed.

Hot Errands

This morning I went for a run while pushing both boys in the stroller. I only did 2 miles. Combined the boys weigh 80 lbs.

Blanca came over and I ran some errands.

I went to Target and bought a lot of clothes for the boys. Evan especially needed some new clothes for school.

I also went to the pre-school to pick up Noah's bike.

Evan and Noah had a good time with Blanca. They played a lot of wii games.

This afternoon the boys and I went through their clothes and boxed up the clothes that no longer fit them. Noah got some of Evan's old clothes. Evan gets really sentimental. He didn't want me boxing up some of Noah's clothes. He got really upset over one shirt for some reason. I told him we weren't getting rid of it, just putting it in the attic. I went up in the attic to put the boxes up there and bring down some other clothes. Man, was it hot up there. Woah!

For dinner we had crock pot chicken.

Tonight was clean up night. The boys cleaned their rooms while I vacuumed.

Evan and Noah are supposed to be in bed, but I still hear them playing.

Gym and Wonders and Worries

This morning we went to the gym. I did a cardio class. The boys had fun in the child care.

We came home and had lunch and then I did special playtime with the boys. Evan went first and then Noah.

Around 5pm we left the house. First we went to the bank to deposit some checks (and get lollipops for the kids). Then, we went to Wonders and Worries.

I ate the food there, but Morry picked up Popeye's on the way home. Evan and Noah had lunchables here for dinner.

We are about to put the boys to bed.

Walk and Walmart

This morning Evan was pretty bad. He was throwing a major fit. I told the kids we were going to take a walk around the shopping center and then get smoothies. I threatened to not let Evan have a smoothie later on and he didn't seem to care. He was still misbehaving. So, after our walk, we went to get smoothies and Evan did not get one. I felt really bad, but he made the decision earlier. He was really upset at Smoothie King.

After that we went to Walmart. I needed to get groceries, but also some other things and Walmart pretty much has everything. We were there for a while. The kids were pretty good, so I let them get McDonalds (inside Walmart) for lunch.

Noah actually slept this afternoon.

For dinner we made one of those frozen Wanchai Ferry meals.

The boys are still awake. They are supposed to be in their rooms.

Pink Eye

During the middle of the night Noah was crying his eye hurt. This morning when he woke up his eyes were really goopy.

I called the doctor and got a 10am appointment. It turns out he has pink eye - the very beginning of it. I'm glad we caught it early. He has drops we need to put in his eyes for the next few days. That's it. It's not too bad.

At 12:30, Noah's new teacher, Ms. Kathy came by the house. They spent a lot of time in Noah's room. Noah wanted to show her his Geo Trax.

After she left, I took Evan over to Benjamin's house for a play date. I offered to get him around 3:30, but Benjamin's mom said they were having a great time and asked if I could pick up Evan at 6.

At 6:00 I picked up Evan and then we had dinner at home. I had a veggie burger. Morry had a hamburger. The kids had their various kids foods.

After dinner we went to Blizzy's for shaved ice.

The boys have been put to bed, but they are still playing around in their rooms.
