First Night of Hanukkah

This morning we had a meeting with the guy building our porch.  We are still waiting on city approval.

Jen wasn't feeling well and went to the doctor. It turns out she has strep too.  I had a little bit of scratchy throat so I though I should get checked too.  Luckily, I don't have strep.

We lit the menorahs, opened presents, and had a big Hanukkah dinner.

Here are a few pictures from today.

Sick Evan

Last night Evan had a slight fever and this morning he still wasn't feeling well.  We kept him home from school.  As we were dropping off Noah at school we saw Evan's teacher and she said Strep has been going around the classroom.

When we got home I made an appointment to take Evan to the doctor.  It turned out he does have Strep so we got him started on an antibiotic.

I had a muscle activation appointment and Morry had a meeting during the day.

Morry picked up Noah from school.

For dinner we had salmon that Michael and Jen made along with some other yummy foods.  The boys ate very well.

Both boys are ready for bed.  Evan is in his room.  Noah is in the game room playing with Maya.

Strep?

Evan was coughing a lot this morning. He took a shower and after that seemed to feel a lot better. But then, this morning we got a call from the doctor's office. Evan does in fact have strep throat. I guess there is a more detailed test that takes longer and those results came in today. They called in a prescription of Amoxicillin. Evan seems to be a lot better today, but he still has to do the 10 days of antibiotics.

We ate lunch at home and then went over to HEB to pick up the medicine. That was our only time out of the house today.

Noah eventually took a nap today, but it took some time before he fell asleep. He has been really cranky today. I asked if he needed to get a strep test, but they said only if he has a fever and a sore throat, which he doesn't.

For dinner, Morry ran out and picked up Chuy's for us.

We did our biweekly clean up tonight and in a minute we'll put the boys to bed.

Sicky

This morning I took both boys to the doctor. I was able to get a 8:00am appointment for them. Evan still had a fever. Noah seemed ok, but he still had that cough. I was worried they could have strep.

The doctor said Noah was fine. She did a strep test on Evan, but didn't think that was what he had. The test came back negative, so he just has a virus. She suggested Mucinex if he's coughing a lot and just to give the virus some time. I was glad it wasn't strep.

I dropped Evan off at home with Morry (who worked from home this morning) and took Noah to school.

I had a 10am hair appointment, so Morry said he would stay with Evan.

We went in separate cars to pick up Noah. Evan stayed in the car with me. Morry ran in the get Noah, and then I took both boys home. Morry went to work after that.

Before dinner Noah and i went to HEB, did some grocery shopping, and picked up dinner for us there. Morry and the kids had pizza. I had fish and couscous.

Evan seems to be feeling a lot better now. He ate pretty well and doesn't seem to be coughing as much.

Now, it's time to get them to bed.

Strep Throat

The boys slept in this morning and I had a doctor's appointment at 10:30pm.

The nurse came in first to take my vitals and immediately did a strep test. A few minutes later the doctor came in and had the results. I have strep. He checked my throat, ears, etc. He prescribed some antibiotics and something else to help my sore throat.

I stopped at HEB on the way home hoping my medicine would be ready, but it wasn't.

When I got home Morry and the boys were upstairs watching tv. Morry had to wake Noah up around 10:30.

A little while later we went back to HEB to get my medicine and then to Scooters (a coffee shop). Morry was hoping to get a Red Bull smoothie there, but they were out of Red Bull. Morry and boys got smoothies and I got a coffee. We sat at a table for a little while. The coffee shop has toys and games for kids. Evan and Noah had a good time playing with this all-in-one wooden board game table. It had lots of different games and pieces.

For lunch we had leftovers.

Evan and Noah didn't nap and both were getting pretty cranky by the end of the afternoon. For dinner the boys had leftover pizza. Morry ran out to get a burger from P Terry's and Subway for me.

We put the boys to bed, but they are still awake and our neighbors are still shooting off fireworks.
