Evan’s School and Tutoring

Evan woke up around the time Morry was about to leave to work.  Morry got him set up in the game room.
Before Grandma and Papa left this morning, Grandma came with us to drop Evan off at school.
Grandma and Papa left late morning to drive back to Dallas.
Noah and I just hung out at the house and ate lunch.  Then, it was time to pick up Evan.
When we got home I put the boys down for naps. They both slept well. I was able to nap a little too.
Blanca came at 4:30pm.  I tutored 3 students tonight.
Morry, Evan, and Noah ate dinner at home together while I was tutoring.
When I got home around 8:45pm, Evan and Noah were in Noah’s room but they were both still up.  Evan must have heard me come home and he was asking for me. I went up there to say goodnight to them.
It seems to be quiet up there now.

Pizza

This morning I got up and took care of Evan so that Morry could sleep.
Grandma/Lynn, Papa/Lenny, Evan, Noah, Lizzy, and I went for a walk.
We hung out at home for a little bit and then went out to lunch at Home Slice, Morry and Papa’s favorite pizza place.  The boys were well behaved and the food was good.
When we got home we put Evan and Noah down for naps.  They both slept well.
For dinner we had chicken that Aunt Susan brought over yesterday and kugel.  Evan and Noah didn’t eat very much.
After dinner, the boys played a little and then we put them down for bed.  It’s almost quiet up there.  I still hear Noah making some noise, but Evan sounds quiet.

Are You Kidding Me?

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Evan got up at 7:30. I got him breakfast as usual and set him up in the gameroom. Grandma and Papa then took it from there. Rachel and I tried to sleep in as much as possible.

When we got downstairs, Papa had made breakfast. Noah and Evan each had a bunch of fruit. After breakfast, Evan played Wii. He's really getting good at baseball, and even getting better at Wii Tennis and Golf. In baseball, in the batting practice, he hit 18 out of 30 pitched balls. I sometimes have to remind myself that he's only 3 years old.

For lunch, Rachel and I ran out to Which Wich and picked up some food for us. Evan and Noah had peanut butter and jelly.

We tried to get Evan to nap but he didn't want to nap. He came downstairs and saw me all in my gear for the Steelers game. He let me put him down for a nap again, but I heard him playing. I yelled up to him and told him he could come down. He ran down the stairs holding his Roethlisberger jersey. He then sat next to me on the couch for most of the game. Noah slept for most of the game.

The title of this post is "Are You Kidding Me?" because the Steelers just blew the game, for the second straight week. It's like they are just handing the game away. It's unbelievable.

For dinner, Papa went and picked up the Salt Lick for us. Aunt Susan had come down around halftime of the game. I blame her for the loss. Whenever she watched, the Steelers were doing bad.

We gave the boys baths tonight and then put them down in Noah's room. They seemed to quiet down fairly quickly tonight.

Until next time...

Grandma and Papa

This morning Evan came in our room a few times.  The first was around 5am.  He wanted Morry to help him find his pacifier.  Morry got up with Evan the second time and gave him breakfast and set up a movie for him.  Once Noah woke up I got him dressed and played with Evan and Noah in the game room so that Morry could sleep a little.
Once everyone was up and dressed we took a walk around the Costco shopping center and then got smoothies at Smoothie King.
When we got home we put the boys down for naps and they both slept well.  A little while later Grandma/ Lynn and Papa/ Lenny arrived.
For dinner we went to Cheddars.
We just put Evan and Noah to bed, but they are still talking and playing.

Playgroup

This morning we had playgroup at our house.  I made muffins and Evan helped put the cups in the muffin pan.
Morry was home again today and it was nice having his help with the boys.
After lunch Evan and Noah took good naps.  I was able to take a nap as well.
For dinner we went to Texas Land and Cattle.  Evan and Noah were very well behaved and ate well.  Evan ate all of his shrimp and Noah ate all of his hotdog, minus the  bun.
The boys are in bed now, but still up talking/playing.

Pizza Day and Picture Day

Evan and Noah slept until almost 8am this morning.
All of us took Evan to school today. It was our turn to bring in food to go with the pizza.  We brought grapes, watermelon, and drinkable yogurt.  They took professional pictures today at Evan’s school.  We’ll see how they look. Hopefully Evan smiled.
Morry took Noah to Target while I went to a doctor’s appointment.
Morry, Noah, and I ate lunch and then picked up Evan from school.
When we got home we put Evan and Noah down for naps, but only Noah napped.
I tutored one student this afternoon.
I got home about 7pm.  Morry had dinner pretty much ready when I got home.
While Morry cleaned up from dinner, I vacuumed and cleaned up downstairs.  We have playgroup coming over to our house tomorrow morning.
Evan and Noah are in bed now, but still talking.

A New Beginning

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

For those of you who don't know, I decided to quit my job with TicketCity. It just wasn't what I had expected it to be and StoredIQ, my old job, came calling. Everything seemed to just work out. TicketCity asked that I reconsider both Monday and Tuesday and sent me home early to think things over. Today I went in early and cleaned out my cube. When everyone got in, I let them know. This time I was sent home for good.

Since I left for work earlier, I didn't see Evan this morning. Rachel said he slept in until about 8am. At that point, I think he woke Noah up because they were playing together and he didn't come out of the room. It makes it easier on us, but hopefully Noah is getting enough sleep.

When I got home, we went to HEB. Tomorrow is Pizza Day at Evan's school. The parents rotate bringing a snack on those days. Tomorrow is our day to bring a snack in so we needed to pick some things up. Also, Rachel is hosting play group on Friday and wanted to get some food for that. Noah stayed with Rachel in the cart and I split off with Evan to pick up some of the other stuff. Both boys got Buddy Bucks and balloons when we were leaving.

Rachel made peanut butter and jelly for the boys. Evan ate well, Noah just smeared the sandwich around.

After lunch, Blanca came because Rachel had some errands plus tutoring to do. We didn't know if I'd be home this afternoon, so we didn't cancel Blanca. I used that time to run my own errands. I had to run over to the AT&T store to switch my cell phone into my name. I then went by the StoredIQ offices to sign my offer letter. It was fun catching up with everyone and everyone seemed genuinely excited to have me come back. My first day will be next Wednesday.

I came home and was there when the boys got up from their naps. We got a new GeoTrax DVD and Evan wanted to watch that. He wanted to watch it over and over.

I made steak and chicken kebabs (they were pre-marinated) and rice for dinner.

After dinner we gave the boys baths. They are now in bed, but making lots of noise.

I'm looking forward to a few days off to do nothing.

Until next time...

Chilly

We got a lot of rain last night. Evan came in our room twice during the middle of the night. One of the times he asked why it was raining. It actually cooled off quite a bit today and Evan wore pants for the first time in months.

I dropped Evan off at school this morning and then Noah and I went grocery shopping at Sprouts, a new store that opened near us. The stuff they had on sale was really cheap. The other stuff was somewhat expensive, but I still managed to do well and get a lot for the money. Noah was good there, but kept asking for a cookie. I think he thought we were at Newflower where they give out free cookies to the kids.

Morry came home at lunch time.

We all went to pick Evan up from school. Evan was super excited to see Morry. He got the biggest smile on his face when he realized Morry was there.

When we got home the boys both took good naps.

I had my long tutoring day today. I tutored 4 students and got home at 8:45pm.

When I got home Evan and Noah were still making noises, but it seems to be quiet up there now.

The Lake and Smoothies

**** Morry wanted me to add... This is the year anniversary of the blog!

This morning I took the boys and Lizzy to walk around the lake. It was pretty hot outside. We stopped at one point to feed the ducks and let Lizzy swim. Evan walked some of the trail. Both boys were well behaved. I brought a lot of snacks to keep them occupied, which helped.

On the way home we stopped at Jamba Juice for smoothies. I asked Evan what kind he wanted and he said orange. We picked out an orange smoothie for him and Noah to share. Both boys finished theirs by the time we got home –maybe a 10 minute drive.

By the time we got home it was about 2:00 and time for naps. Both boys took good naps.

Morry woke Evan up around 6pm so he would be able to sleep tonight.

For dinner we had coke ham and baked potatoes.

After dinner, Morry had a phone call to make so I took the boys outside. Evan rode his scooter and I pushed Noah on the tricycle.

The boys are ready for bed and in Noah’s room, but neither one is sleeping yet.

Stupid Football

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Amazingly, Evan slept until 8:15 this morning. He came in and got me and I got him some breakfast and set him in the game room as usual. Shortly after 9, Noah started calling for "Mommy". I got up and got the boys dressed. Uncle Mike got up too and we brought the boys downstairs. We watched some TV and played with them.

Around noon, Uncle Mike left to go meet some people for barbecue and then go to the airport to fly back to Seattle. Rachel, Evan, Noah and I went to Jason's Deli at Southpark Meadows. Rachel was going to San Antonio for Erika's (Jonah's, Rachel's cousin, fiancee) shower. The food was just ok there. It was very crowded. Rachel left after a little while and the the boys and I finished up. Evan ate a bunch of watermelon.

I brought the boys home and put them down for naps. Unfortunately, Evan didn't nap. So we put on football and watched that until the Steelers game came on. That game put me in a very bad mood. The Steelers lost the game, the Bears did not win the game. I'm still angry about it. During the fourth quarter, Noah climbed into his high chair. When he does that, he's telling you he's hungry. So I went over, put on his tray and gave him some dried peas. I kept looking over my shoulder at him to make sure he was ok eating. I saw him with his finger in his nose and I got concerned. So I went over to him and sure enough, he had stuck a pea in each nostril. So we are now two-for-two, both boys have stuck food up their nose.

For dinner we just had pasta. Then we went for a walk. Evan wore his new Roethlisberger jersey (Zayde got if for him) all day. He also insisted on wearing it on the walk. He walked for half of the walk and was well behaved.

They are in bed now but not sleeping.

Until next time...

Go Longhorns

This morning Evan came into our room around 7am and woke Morry up. Morry got him breakfast and a movie and got back in bed. A little while later Noah started crying so I got up and took care of the boys so that Morry could sleep.

I tutored a student from 10:30-11:30 this morning.

When I got home we made lunch for Evan and Noah. Then, Will and Anna Belle (3 years old) came over to pick up tickets to the football game today. We sold Will 2 of our tickets. Evan and Anna Belle played upstairs in the game room. I went up to check on them at one point and I heard Evan telling her that he sleeps in together with Noah in Noah’s room.

After they left we put Evan and Noah down for naps.

Morry and Michael left to go to the UT Longhorns game around 4pm. The game wasn’t starting until 7pm, but they wanted to have enough time to park and do some tailgating. Ticket City was having a big tailgate party and so was F5 (where Michael works).

For dinner I asked Evan where he wanted to go and he said Subway. I said I’d just pick up some food and we’d bring it home. He wanted to eat at the restaurant. Both boys were very good there. Noah did not spill any drink on him this time. They both picked out a bag of chips. Noah chose Cheetos again, and Evan picked Sun Chips. Evan also got a bag of apples. I brought some other food for them in the diaper bag as well.

When we got home we called Bubbe on Skype. Noah was very excited. He kept screaming “Bubbe!” Noah even sang some the ABCs for Bubbe.

I gave the boys a shower downstairs. We went upstairs in the game room and watched a little of the football game.

I put Evan and Noah to bed in Noah’s room around 8:30. Noah is still making noises, but Evan actually seems quiet. Oh, nevermind, I just heard Evan.

Noah gets in trouble again at playgroup

This morning we went to playgroup at Kate’s house. Evan was the only older boy there. The rest of 3 year-olds were girls. Evan and Noah still had fun. Evan played with the microphone a lot. At one point the girls were at a table playing tea party. They had some kind of mini tea cup set with dishes, cups, and saucers. We were all sitting in the same room. I’m not sure what happened, but somehow Noah got a tea cup and it broke on the floor. I felt horrible. He’s going to get us kicked out of playgroup.

We were at playgroup until about 12:30. We came home and ate lunch. Evan said he wanted macaroni and cheese. So I made a box for him, he ate maybe one bite of it. He did eat his other food though.

I put Evan and Noah down for naps around 2:00. Noah napped, but Evan did not.

After Noah woke up, took the boys in the backyard and gave them haircuts. Morry came home during the haircuts.

For dinner we went to BJs. Evan and Noah were not very well behaved and didn’t eat so well. We had a coupon for a free dessert. We told Evan he could have dessert if he ate some of his pizza. He told us he didn’t want the dessert. Morry and I just ended up sharing it. Noah ate a lot of the ice cream on top.

Evan and Noah are in bed now in Noah’s room. It’s still noisy in there. I just heard Noah repeating, “E-F-G”.
