San Antonio

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We were in San Antonio for a wedding last night and that is why the absence of a blog entry.

When I last left you, Evan and Noah were sharing a room and starting to quiet down. Perhaps when I typed that, I jinxed it. At midnight, those two were still making noise. Well one of the boys was still making noise - the younger one :) Noah was squealing and playing and banging. Poor Evan was trying to be good and go to sleep. So I had to bring Evan back to his room. He was upset because he felt he was being punished even though it was Noah who was being bad. But I needed them to go to sleep. They both went to sleep pretty quickly after that. Unfortunately, Noah woke up at 3am. He's been congested and was having trouble breathing. I had to suck out his nose.

Then at 6:45am, Evan woke up and wanted breakfast. So obviously he did not sleep very much. He and Noah were cranky all morning long. When Noah got up he was walking around whining and crying.

We had an early lunch and drove down to San Antonio.

Of course the boys needed naps but our room was not ready. If you are ever traveling in San Antonio, I recommend against staying in the Hilton Palacio del Rio. They couldn't seem to get anything right leading up to the reservation, including charging our card the moment we booked the room. They refused to guarantee a crib and they just seemed to be incredibly incompetent.

When we finally got into the room, Noah would not sleep. Grandma/Lynn and Papa/Lenny took Noah and played with him while Evan, Rachel and I napped. Evan ended up sleeping about 2 hours.

While Rachel got ready for the wedding, I went out and got McDonald's for Evan, Noah, Grandmom/Marilyn and me. The boys got Hot Wheels in their Happy Meal and were very happy with that.

At the wedding, both boys made it through the ceremony. It was a Labor Day miracle. Perhaps we need to have some holiday akin to the oil lasting for eight nights during Hanukkah. Once the ceremony was over, though, Noah broke down. We brought him back to the room where Grandmom was sharing an adjacent room. Noah missed the entire reception, but it was much-needed sleep.

Evan played upstairs with Grandmom for awhile during dinner at the reception and then came down for dancing. Evan was a dancing fool. He was cracking everyone up. Around 10:30 or 11, Evan went from dancing to slumping in my arms. I asked him if we wanted to go up to sleep and brought him upstairs to Grandmom.

This morning, the boys, again were kind of cranky. I think they still haven't really caught up on their sleep. Evan did sleep past 8am which was nice. We had some breakfast at the hospitality suite.

For lunch, we went with Grandmom, Grandma, Papa, Aunt Diane, Uncle Jay, Aunt Susan and Bubbe to lunch. I can't remember the name of the place. The food was good but it was SLOW. I walked around with the boys because they couldn't sit that long.

On the way home, we stopped at the Disney store in San Marcos. We got Evan a Woody costume (Zayde, he took off the costume before I could get a picture.) We also got some t-shirts, a lunchbox for Evan, a sweatshirt for each boy, and pajamas. Almost all Toy Story stuff. They were having a 40% off sale so we got some great deals on things they need.

When we got back home, it was too late for naps. We let the boys play. Evan put on his Woody costume.

For dinner, we ordered from Blue Bamboo.

We decided to tempt fate again and have put the boys together in the room again. Evan definitely stays in the room. They are being loud right now though.

Until next time...
