Another Bike Ride

This morning I was planning on going for a run and asked Evan if he wanted to go with me.  He asked if we could ride bikes instead.

We rode to the Velloway, around twice, and back home.  That was 13 miles.  He did well.  It's pretty hilly.

For lunch, Noah had fried matzoh and Evan had challah with powdered sugar.

Morry and Evan left for baseball around 2:00.

At 3:00, Chewie and I walked Noah to Grandma's house to spend the afternoon and have dinner together.  They made fried rice.

Morry had a meeting downtown after baseball, so he took Evan with him.  On their way home, they picked up Noah.

For dinner we had turkey.

Here is a picture from today's bike ride.

Bike Ride

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

I got up first this morning.  I had a few meetings.  The first one was an early phone meeting with a potential customer.

While I was gone from the house, Rachel and Evan rode their bikes to the Circle C Park.  They did some riding on the road and then they cut off onto a trail to get the rest of the way there.  I think it was the first time that Evan did any trail biking.  He said it was tough, but Rachel said he did well.  When they got to the park, they played a game of "Pig" with the basketball.

I was home when they got home.  Noah had stayed home and took care of Chewie.

In the afternoon, I took Evan to his baseball training.  On the way home, I dropped him off at Grandma's for dinner.

Rachel, Noah and I went shopping at HEB.  We got normal things but we each bought something for dinner as well.

After we had dinner, Rachel, Chewie and I walked to Grandma's to pick Evan up.

We're home and the boys will be getting ready for bed soon.

Until next time...

Active Day

This morning Evan and I ran to Starbucks (2.5 miles), got a snack there, and then walked home (another 2.5 miles).

We had the garage repair guy come today and fix the middle garage door.  The spring broke and few other things needed to be fixed on it.

Then, Elise, the petsitter came by to get all of the instructions.

We ate lunch and then went to the pool for about an hour.  Noah's friend, Grayson, happened to be at the pool and they enjoyed playing together.

We needed to leave by 2pm to get Evan home in time for baseball.

Evan and Morry left the house around 2:15.

Then, around 2:30, the doorbell rang.  It was Grayson coming to see if Noah could play. So, Noah went over to Grayson's house for a little while and then they hung out at our house until Grayson went home around 5:15.

For dinner we made pasta.

We spend a lot of the evening going through the boys' clothes and pulling out items that don't fit anymore.  We are hoping to go to the outlets this weekend and wanted to figure out what we needed.

Now the boys are in bed.

Lots of Activities

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today I had to join a training class at HomeAway for the group I help out with.  It was an all day training.  I really was not looking forward to it so I guess the bar was super low.  It wasn't as bad as I had thought, though I still think I'd have been better of not going.

Because of that, Rachel was the full-day chauffeur for the boys.  She took them bowling.  Evan seemed upset as he didn't bowl as well as he normally does.  Both boys said they had fun though.

Then Rachel took Noah to an appointment.  From there, she took Evan to his baseball.  Rachel and Noah went to a coffee shop while Evan was playing.

Evan said he hit better than he ever has today.  He was very happy with his performance.

For dinner, we had grilled chicken.  We let the boys pick out the spices for each of the five breasts we grilled.  That seemed to make it a hit.  We finished everything.

After dinner, Rachel and I took Chewie for a walk.

The boys are upstairs playing now.

Until next time...

Back to summer at home

This morning the boys watched the movie Unbreakable.

I went with Papa to a Rotary Club meeting where the speaker was a gynecologic oncologist.

I got home around 2pm and shortly after Morry and Evan left for baseball.

For dinner, we had orange chicken at home.

Then, for dessert, we went to Bahama Bucks.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Long Hiatus

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We're back to writing the blog after our longest hiatus since the blog began in 2008.  In that time, Rachel and I went to Thailand and the boys went to camp for 4 weeks.  This past weekend, the first weekend home for the boys, we went to Galveston to celebrate Rachel's 40th birthday.

But things are starting to get more "normal" around here, so we're back and so is the blog.

The boys had a great time at camp.  They enjoyed playing baseball as well as other sports.  Noah enjoyed it so much that he wants to take some hitting lessons with Justin at TRPD.

Thailand was great.  Rachel and I visited Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Koh Samui.  I think we liked Koh Samui and Chiang Mai the most.  Chiang Mai is in the northern mountainous region of the country.  We were able to go to an elephant sanctuary which we enjoyed.  Koh Samui is an island off the southwest part of the country.  It was relaxing.  It was more of a resort area.

Aunt Fran brought the boys home from camp.  The boys really enjoyed having Aunt Fran and Uncle Scott pick them up.  And they enjoyed having Aunt Fran here.  Evan and Aunt Fran played laser tag together and Evan had a dance party with Aunt Fran.

This past weekend was quite fun.  Everyone enjoyed being on the beach.  Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Susan joined us where we rented a house together.  Chewie came down.  It was his first time at the beach.  He loved running around the beach and jumping in the water.  He made some friends with other dogs.  Evan was in the water almost the entire two days we were there.  Noah was in the water much of the time as well.  For Rachel's birthday dinner, we went to a seafood restaurant where Rachel got crab.

Everyone came home today and now we're trying to get into a routine.

Until next time...
