Morning Baseball, Afternoon Party

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan's baseball tournament this weekend was up in Taylor which is about an hour away.  His first game was at 8am and the second game was at 9:45.  We had to be there by 7am.  We left the house around 5:50 so we could stop at Donut Taco Palace on the way.  It was tough getting up.

Evan played the outfield in the first game.  He didn't get any opportunities to field it.  He got one at-bat and struck out.  The team did not play well so all-in-all it was a forgettable game.

In the second game, Evan doubled in the top of the first.  He played first base and catcher for the entire game.  He did well at both positions.  In his second at-bat he hit the ball hard but the right fielder caught it.  He was one of the few bright spots in the game for TRPD.

We stopped at the pizza place up there on the way home.

Noah had a football game at noon this morning.  Rachel had to get him there by 11:30.  Unfortunately, he threw a massive fit.  Rachel had to carry him into the car.  But when she got there, there, parking was difficult and she just couldn't get him to the field.  She ended up finding the coach to tell him that Noah wasn't going to play.

When I got home, Noah and I had a long talk.

Noah had a birthday party to go to in the afternoon at Altitude.  I took him and we picked Jude up on the way.

For dinner we went to Zen.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

A Night Out

This morning Noah threw a massive fit about going to school.  We made him go to school anyway.  We didn't want him missing any more days.

Morry had a meeting at the house this morning.

We got our bagels for lunch.

After lunch, we got pedicures as part of our weekly challenges for my blog.  Morry had never had one before.  When we got to the spa, there were 2 other men there getting pedicures too.  We had a nice time.

We walked to pick up the kids from school.

Around 5pm Morry dropped off Evan at a friends house, to then go to the kid's birthday party at Main Event.  Then, he dropped Noah off at Grandma and Papa's house.

Morry and I went to a fundraising dinner for Camp Kesem.  A friend of mine's dad purchased a table for the event and she invited us along with a few other couples.  It was a nice evening.

We picked up Evan at the friend's house around 10pm.  They had a great time.  Then, we got Noah at Grandma and Papa's.

Here are a few pictures from today.

Still No School

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Noah did not go to school today.  He said he was nauseous when we got him up.  We really wanted him to go to school, but we finally gave in and said he could stay home for one more day.  So Evan and I rode bikes to school.

Rachel and I went to Camp Gladiator today.  Noah came with us, but sat in the car with the windows down.

For lunch, I met Daniel at a new place called Slab.  It's a barbecue sandwich place.  It was good.

I had a meeting when I got home, then I rode my bike to get Noah.

Evan and I left to go to hitting at TRPD.  Rachel took Noah to his football practice.  He was well enough to practice.

Rachel had a blogging event - a spin class - so she left to go there while we were gone.  Evan and I went and picked Noah up and we went to Sonic for dinner.  We brought it home and watched the Truman Show.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Poor Noah

We could tell Noah didn't feel 100% on his birthday.  He didn't eat any cupcakes!

Yesterday he still wasn't feeling well and stayed home from school.  I took him to the doctor and the doctor just thinks it a virus he's getting over.  The doctor recommended Tylenol for his headache and Mylanta for his slightly upset stomach.  He thought the headache is caused by not eating enough so the Mylanta should help get his appetite back.

Noah stayed home again today.  We think he had a slight fever last night and this morning.  He seems to be doing a lot better today and will hopefully go back to school tomorrow.

In the meantime, Evan had practice yesterday and today.  I tutored.  Noah ate dinner with Grandma and Papa tonight.

Evan's finishing his homework.  Noah's getting ready for bed.

Noah's Birthday

Today was Noah's actual birthday.  9 years old!

We walked to school with Lizzy this morning.

I went to Camp Gladiator.  Morry couldn't go since he had a meeting at that time.

After Camp Gladiator, I ran a few errands including Sams Club to pick up cupcakes for Noah's class.

Morry and I went to Noah's lunch at school and passed out cupcakes at the end to his classmates.

This afternoon we walked to pick up the kids.

Evan had baseball and I had tutoring.

Once everyone was home again, we picked up Grandma and Papa and went to dinner at Buffet Palace - Noah's birthday choice.

Now, the boys are getting ready for bed.

Here are some pictures from today.

Noah's Pre- Birthday

Today we celebrated Noah's birthday since he will be in school tomorrow on his actual birthday.

He made the plans for the day.  First, we went to Top Golf with Grandma and Papa and then had lunch at Kerbey Lane.  Next, we went to Big Top Candy Shop and then walked around South Congress.  Finally, we went to take pictures in the bluebonnets (that was my choice).

The kids played outside in the afternoon and made YouTube videos.

For dinner we had steak and fish and ate outside.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Here are some pictures from today.

Busy Evan

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Wade's mom came around 9:30 to pick Evan up to go to Main Event.  Since we've gotten home from Spring Training, Evan has had two baseball practices, stayed over Cooper's house, spent the day with Cooper at Altitude and spent the day with Wade at Main Event.  We didn't pick Evan up until nearly 6pm.

I worked all morning.  Then Rachel, Noah and I went to Wholy Bagel for lunch.

On the way back from Wholy Bagel, we stopped at Costco to get a few things.

Jude came over later in the afternoon to play with Noah.

For dinner, we went out to Lucy's Fried Chicken on the lake.  It was just ok.  The boys were able to play there so they had a good time.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Spring Training

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The boys and I are back from Spring Training.  We were back yesterday but we didn't have time to write.

The boys and I were able to see three Pirates games.  Evan got 5 baseballs while we were there and Noah got one.  During one of the games, Evan was in the outfield for batting practice and got three home run balls.

While we were there, we stayed at a house with a pool.  The boys were able to do a lot of swimming.  The house was very nice and was easily the best place we've ever stayed in Bradenton.

On Sunday, in addition to seeing a baseball game, we made our annual trip to the miniature golf place.  And in the evening we went to see the King Kong movie.

While we were in Florida, Rachel was busy going to a ton of SXSW events.  She was able to get a ton of free stuff and basically eat for free for 4 days.

Last night, Evan stayed over the house of one of his teammates from TRPD.  They hung together all day as well and went to the trampoline place, Altitude.

The last two nights, we've been able to eat outside on the porch.  The bugs are not out yet and the temperature is quite nice.

Until next time...

Getting Closer

This morning we walked with Lizzy to school.  She did alright.  She wanted to stop and smell everything.

I tutored this morning.

Morry went to Aaron's to work and then had a long Home Away meeting in the afternoon.

I walked to pick up the kids.

Right after we got home I took Evan to his baseball lesson.

We got home a little before Morry.

We had various things for dinner.  I had a veggie burger.  Noah had a leftover hamburger.  Morry and Evan had pasta.

Right now the kids are super hyper.  I think they are excited for Spring Break.

Hopefully, they will go to bed soon.

Track and Field Day 2017

This morning we walked the kids to school.

Around 8:30am I walked back to the school to see the kids' Track and Field Day.  By class, the kids rotate to different sports/activities. I watched both kids dance, play soccer, and saw Noah do tennis and concession stand.  They both seemed to have a good time.

We walked again to pick up the kids from school.

Morry and Evan went to baseball.

I did not tutor today, so Noah and I stayed home.

For dinner we had hamburgers.

Evan's doing homework now.

Here are some pictures and videos from today.

Away From the Office

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning we didn't go to Camp Gladiator.  I was busy and needed to get to Aaron's.  Rachel had to tutor and then she go to a luncheon so we stayed home.

Around 9, I left to go to Aaron's.  Rachel was not far behind me.

Rachel's luncheon was downtown.  It took a while for her to get parking as the first part of South by Southwest began.  It was a luncheon called the "Celebration of Life" put on by Neiman Marcus and Kendra Scott to raise money for breast cancer research.

I came home in time to pick the boys up from school.  They stayed home for about an hour before they went over to Grandma and Papa's.  They had dinner there.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.

We walked with Lizzy to pick them up this evening.

The boys are asleep now.

Until next time...

Workout and Baseball

This morning we walked to school.

This is Bold week for Camp Gladiator so the schedule is limited this week.  A few people from the camp were meeting anyway at the park to exercise, so I joined them.

I did not tutor this morning since the student was taking a test.

We walked to pick up the boys from school.

Morry and Evan left for baseball right after getting home.

I had one student for tutoring.

Noah and I ate dinner at home together.

Morry and Evan got home around 8:30.  Evan had Subway for dinner and now Morry is making something for himself.

The kids are having dessert and then will get ready for bed.

Laser Tag

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

I had a bunch of work to do today so I got up a bit early to do work.  First I got breakfast for the boys. The boys played well.

Rachel made lunch for the boys later.

After lunch the boys cleaned up.  Then Rachel took them to Jude's birthday party at Blazer Laser Tag.  Jude was having his birthday party there.  Evan was not invited but Rachel brought Wade and him there and paid for them separately so they could join in.  All the kids had a good time.

When they got home, the boys and I ran to HEB to return a Redbox and get steak for dinner.

We made salmon and I grilled steak for dinner.  We ate it while watching Timeless.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

I got up around 9am.  I looked outside and the ground was slightly wet.  I thought to myself that it wasn't wet enough to cancel baseball.  That thought lasted about 30 seconds before I went into Evan's room and he told me that baseball was cancelled.  I checked my phone and, sure enough, they had cancelled today's games but hadn't yet cancelled tomorrow's games.  Later in the day we found out the entire weekend was cancelled.

Evan was invited to a birthday party tonight that he wasn't going to be able to make.  He asked me if he could still go.  I called the parents and it was fine for him to go since he didn't have baseball.

When Rachel got up, she asked the boys if they wanted to have friends over.  Evan didn't want friends over, but Noah wanted Jude.  Jude was happy to come over because he was supposed to go watch his brother play soccer which hadn't been cancelled, so he was glad to get out of that.

We had eggs and cinnamon buns for brunch.

Jude stayed until 4pm.  He and Noah had a good time.

Just before 5, I took Evan over to the birthday party.

For dinner, Rachel, Noah and I went to Lupe Tortilla.  When we got there, the wait was an hour, so we just picked up food to go and brought it home.

After dinner, I picked Evan up.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Parties

This morning we walked to school.

Morry and I got bagels, went to Target, and then the vet to pick up cat food.

At noon, we went to a card reader.  It was for the blog series about taking chances and trying new things.  Neither of us had done that before.   It was interesting.  The guy read our stones and cards.  He was very optimistic with both of us.  We have great things in our future!  :)

We walked to pick up the boys from school.

Around 5:00 we went to our neighbor's house for a birthday party.

Wade's mom picked up Evan around 5:45 to bring him to his friend's birthday party.  Evan is still there now and should be coming home soon.

Morry, Noah, and I stayed at the party for a little while and then walked over to the Food Truck Night.  We ate dinner there.  Our food was just okay.  Noah got a shaved ice for dessert.

Now we are waiting for Evan to come home and then the boys will get ready for bed.

Barely Home

This morning we walked to school and then went to Camp Gladiator.

From there I tutored.

I came home for just a few minutes after tutoring to quickly shower and change, and then went to a brunch at a friend's house.

I got home a little before it was time to pick up the kids from school.

Morry had a phone meeting, so I walked alone to pick up the boys.

Shortly after we got home I took Evan to his baseball lesson.

I dropped him off and went to the library to tutor a student.

Morry pickup up Evan from his lesson.

When I got home, we got in the car and went to school.  Evan had a 5th grade performance.

Grandma met us there.

It was a cute superhero show.  The kids did a good job.

We gave Grandma a ride home.

When we got home, Morry left to go to a Trivia Night contest.

I fed the boys dinner.

Now they are in bed and Morry is on his way home.

No Driving

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was slightly cooler on our walk to school this morning but still warm.  We have had 26 days over 80 this winter.  It's been the warmest winter on record in Austin.

We didn't have Camp Gladiator this morning so we spent the entire day at home.

After getting the kids from school, Rachel left to go tutor.

Noah got invited over to Jude's house.  One of Evan's teammates - Cooper - offered to take Evan to practice.  They don't live far from us.  I dropped Noah off at Jude's and then dropped Evan off at Cooper's and drove home.  Cooper's dad dropped Evan off here after practice.

Rachel stopped at Costco on the way home.

For dinner, we had Sprite chicken.

The boys are in bed.

Until next time...
