Back to Normal

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today felt like everything had gotten back to normal.  Everyone is back home who traveled.  We didn't have anyone staying with us.  It was a normal Sunday before school.

We went to see Creed in the morning.  Deborah met us there.  I felt like it was the best movie I had seen all year.  It was very well done and a great story.  It was a great continuation of the Rocky story.  Evan and Noah both really liked it as well.

The boys played upstairs in the afternoon while I did some work.

At 3pm, the Steelers game started.  Evan and Noah watched the first half with me.  Noah went upstairs during the second half so just Evan watched the conclusion with me.

For dinner we had pasta.

The boys are asleep now.

Until next time...

Very Cold

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Rachel and I slept in today for the second day in a row.  It's been very gray and overcast and I think that has helped with us sleeping in.

I put on the movie Rocky for the boys when I got up.  They want to go see Creed.  I said they had to at least see Rocky to understand it.

About an hour into the movie, Uncle Mike called and asked to bring Maya and Artie over.  The boys played with Maya upstairs for a while.  Then they walked back to Grandma and Papa's.

We had lunch when they left.  Then the boys and I played a bit of football outside.  It was only 42 degrees but it was really wet and humid.  The air really stung.

We finished Rocky when we got back in.  The boys want to go run up the Art Museum steps now.

Noah and I played some Nintendo in the afternoon.

For dinner, we went to Pho Thai Son and then to HEB for shopping.  We bumped into Grandma and Papa at both places.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Next Day

This morning we took it easy and then went to Game Over so Morry and the boys could get some Nintendo games.  They were having a sale.  I went to the thrift store next door while they shopped.   After that we all got bagels at Wholy Bagel.

Early afternoon we went over to Aunt Sandy and Uncle Marvin's house.  Aunt Sandy made lunch for a lot of us.  Jay, Hollis, Aaron, Uncle Jay, Aunt Diane, and Susie's family were there.

After that we came home for a little bit and then went to Grandma and Papa's house.  A lot of the family came over there as well and we all ate Thanksgiving leftovers.

Now, the boys are in bed.

Thanksgiving 2015

We had a busy, but fun day.

The day started out with the neighborhood Turkey Trot. Evan, Noah, and I ran the 5K.  Evan ran up ahead of of us and met us at the finish line.  Noah ran most of the time.  It rained halfway through and we got pretty wet.  We stopped at Grandma and Papa's house for a little bit before going home.

We got the Jello mold, chocolate cream pie, and cranberry apple crisp ready and then we mostly relaxed until it was time to start getting ready for Thanksgiving.

We had 26 people at our house.  Grandma and Papa, Michael, Jen, Maya, Artie, Aunt Sandy, Uncle Marvin, Joel, Aunt Susan, Sherah, JW, Nolan, Court, Press, Aaron, Mandy, Jeremy, Nathan, Monica (Mandy's sister), Deborah, and Jimmy.  Everyone seemed to have a nice time and the kids had fun playing together.

Here are a few pictures.

No School Today

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Last night, Evan and Noah stayed at Grandma and Papa's.  They went over there around 5:00.  Everyone went to dinner at Kerbey Lane.  Then the boys slept in sleeping bags.  Rachel and I went to see the Hunger Games at the Alamo Drafthouse.

I got up later than normal since I didn't have to take the boys to school.  But I still had to do work.  I worked for several hours in the morning and then took my car to the car wash.  Rachel went to Grandma and Papa's to get the boys.

I met everyone at the Wildflower Park and we played football for a bit.  Noah went home with Rachel and Evan came with me to get smoothies at Smoothie King.

I worked all afternoon.  Evan watched Rat Race.

For dinner we went to Grandma and Papa's.  They picked up Torchy's Tacos.

The boys are showering and getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Maya Goes to School (Twice)

This morning we walked the boys to school even though it was 31 degrees.

When we got home I got dinner ready in the crockpot.

Around 10:15 I met Maya and Jen at Grandma and Papa's house and we walked to meet Noah at school for lunch.

Noah's lunch started at 10:49. We had a nice time sitting with Noah.  Then, we walked back to Grandma and Papa's house.

Evan's lunch starts at 12:30, so we walked back to school a little while later to meet Evan.  Evan was surprised and very happy to see us.  We had told him we might not be able to come depending on Maya's mood.  We ate lunch with Evan on the stage, where the visitor's table is.  We had a nice time with Evan too.

We walked back to Grandma and Papa's house and then I went home.

Morry and I walked to pick up the boys from school.

Around 6:30 everyone came to our house for dinner.  We had garlic chicken, asparagus, and baked potatoes.  They left a little while ago.

Soon, the boys will get ready for bed.

Here are some pictures from today.

Season Over

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was 34 degrees this morning when Evan and I left the house.  We stopped at Donut Taco Palace on the way to San Marcos.  The temperature was a balmy 39 degrees when we got to the fields.  By game time, it felt warmer.  I'd guess it was mid-high 40's.  The team struggled defensively again.  Evan ended up playing shortstop for quite a bit during the game.  He did well.  Evan also doubled to the game in right-center.  He pitched to the last two batters of the game before the game was called as it hit the time limit.  The Bucs season came to a close.  Evan should be proud.  He really grew as a fielder and a pitcher this season and his swing definitely improved.

On the way home, we stopped at Popeye's for lunch.

When Noah got up he texted Grandma and he walked over to their house.  Papa met Noah half way.  I dropped Evan off there after Popeye's.  Rachel joined them over there for lunch.

Rachel and Evan came home after not a real long time there.  Noah insisted on staying.

Evan and I watched football and then played some football.

Noah ate over at Grandma and Papa's as well.  We had leftovers here.

We just walked to get Noah but met them half way (kind of by accident).  The boys are having dessert now and should go to bed soon.

Until next time...

Blowing in the Wind

This morning we took it easy.

I went to a fundraiser garage sale.  Morry and Evan left for baseball around noon.

Noah and I met everyone at Grandma and Papa's house at 1:15 and we all drove out to see Evan's baseball game in San Marcos.  It was extremely windy and colder than usual.  Evan's team didn't play so well.

We went back home after the first game.

When Evan and Morry got back we all ate dinner at Grandma and Papa's house.  Michael and Jen made spaghetti and shrimp for us.

We are home now and the kids are getting ready for bed.  Evan has an early baseball game tomorrow in San Marcos again.

Finally Friday

This morning we walked to school.  Lizzy seemed more happy than usual to be out on the walk.  She got pets from kids and got to see her dog friend, Brody.

Later in the morning I ran to Wholy Bagel and Morry drove to meet me there.  I got a ride back home with Morry after eating.

We walked to pick up the kids from school and then went straight to Grandma and Papa's house to hang out with everyone.

For dinner we all ate at Santa Rita.

After Santa Rita we picked up Noah's painted bowl from Cafe Monet.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Noah the Presenter

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was about 50 degrees on the walk to school this morning.  It didn't feel too bad though.  It was a nice walk.

Rachel went to HEB when we got home to get some stuff for tonight.

I went in to get one last issue resolved with Your Trainer and then submitted the latest version of the app to the App Store.

I stopped at Smoothie King on the way home.

Jack's dad called to see if we could get Jack from school and walk him home.  When we went to get the kids, Jack came out the other way.  Evan and I had to go find him.  We were able to and then walked the rest of the way home.

Rachel left to tutor and the boys stayed home with me.

Michael, Jen, Maya, Artie, Grandma and Papa came over for dinner.  Rachel made stuffed peppers.  The boys liked having everyone here.

Everyone has left and the boys are having dessert.  They'll go to bed soon.

Until next time...

Goliad

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan had his class trip to Goliad today.  You find out more about it here.  The entire fourth grade went on the trip.  Since it's about 2.5 hours from Austin, Evan had to be at the school quite early.  I dropped him off at 6:20.  Evan was not scheduled to return until 4:45.

I came home about the time I'd normally get Noah up.  I woke him up and he ate.  Then we walked him to school at the regular time.

Rachel went for a run with Deborah and I went into Aaron's for a bit.  I also got my hair cut.

Rachel went to Costco after running.

On my way home I needed gas.  I also needed lunch so I picked up a burger from P. Terry's which is right by the gas station.

We walked to get Noah.  Rachel and Noah went over to Grandma and Papa's and I walked the rest of the way home.  Aunt Sandy was there and wanted to plan out Thanksgiving dinner.  Noah decided to go there because Evan had baseball practice later and Rachel had to tutor.  So Noah stayed there, did his homework, and then played with Maya all afternoon.  He had dinner there.

Rachel came home, tutored Audrey and then left to tutor another student.

I loaded the car up with Miles', Cole's and Evan's baseball equipment.  Miles' mom dropped it all off yesterday.  I went to school and picked up the three boys and we drove to baseball practice.  They changed into their practice uniforms in the car when we got there.  Evan was pretty tired during practice.

We came home and had pasta.

The boys are now showering and about to go to bed.

Until next time...

Rain Early

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

When I woke up this morning, I could hear the rain coming down very hard.  I knew that we weren't going to be able to walk to school this morning.  We drove and parked in the front of the school and walked the boys in.

I went to Aaron's today.  We were trying to solve an issue with Your Trainer that had stumped us the evening before.  We were able to solve it which was nice.

I came home and Rachel and I met with our landscaper to talk about cleaning up our beds and fixing our fence before the winter and about our drainage problem.

Rachel went to tutor.  I didn't pick up anyone because Evan went to Wade's and Noah had Math Pentathalon.

We went to Grandma and Papa's for dinner to spend more time with Aunt Jen, Maya, and Artie.  Rachel met us there after tutoring.

The boys are heading upstairs now for bed.

Until next time...

Cousins

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

When we walked to school today, we bumped into the family with the two girls who love Lizzy.  The oldest, Savannah, is Noah's age.  Her younger sister, Brooklyn, is 4 and goes to pre-school.  Their mom told us that Brooklyn drew a picture of Brooklyn with Lizzy.  Brooklyn was holding Lizzy's leash.

Grandma and Papa returned home after lunch today.  Rachel met them at the house as their refrigerator repairman was coming and Rachel was there to let him in.

After picking up the boys, we stopped at Grandma and Papa's for a bit.

Uncle Mike and Aunt Jen flew in today with Maya and Artie.  Their flight got in at 5:30.  So Rachel picked up Rudy's on her way back from tutoring and we met at Grandma and Papa's. Aaron, Mandy, Jeremy and Nathan came over as well.  After dinner, all the cousins were playing together being wild on a bed.  Jeremy and Maya were doing whatever Evan and Noah were doing.  Evan and Noah were good at being gentle and making sure Jeremy and Maya were ok.  The kids really had a blast.

We're home now and the boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Noah's Big Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Rachel and Noah got up early to run the Race for the Cure.  Noah was able to run the entire way again.  He stopped just to get water at the water stations.  At one point there were high school cheerleaders.  They formed a path for the Rachel and Noah to run through and they were really cheering Noah on.  Rachel said Noah got lots of high fives on the way as well.  He was pretty happy.

At lunch time, Noah and I went to a bowling party that we were having for the Bucs on UT's campus.  Evan came with Josh's family.  Noah was just one of the guys bowling with the rest of the Bucs.  He seemed to be having a really really good time.  They were able to bowl several games as well as play air hockey and foosball.  We also had pizza for the boys.

We were supposed to have a tournament but the fields had some damage from the storms a few weeks ago.  The tournament was postponed until next weekend.

After the party, we went to Smoothie King on campus.  Darius and his dad, Daniel came with us.  Miles was getting a ride home with us so he came as well.  All four boys really had fun together eating their smoothies.

For dinner, we had our leftovers from last night.

The boys (and Lizzy) are showering.  Then they'll get ready for bed.

Until next time...

Mr. Social

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

I heard the boys, Carter, Evan and Noah up around 7:30.  They played nicely in the game room for a couple hours.

I got up and the boys wanted to go outside and play wiffleball.  While they played, I made waffles for them.  They came in and ate, then went back outside to continue playing.

Around noon, Rachel, Lizzy, Evan, Carter and I walked to Clayton.  Noah refused to go so we left him at home.  We stopped by to take a look at the pond and then Evan, Carter and I played football in the fenced-in field.  We let Lizzy off the leash there and she had a great time running around the field as well.

When we came back, Carter and Evan played outside a bit more before Carter's mom came and got him.

Evan got invited to stay over Josh's house tonight.  So after taking it easy in the afternoon, I took Mr. Social over to Josh's.  Tomorrow they plan to go to a pond to fish.  Evan has a fishing pole he got from Uncle Mike and Aunt Jen so he brought it to Josh's.

Since Noah was without Evan, he got to choose what we would do tonight.  He chose to go to Genghis Grill and eat.  After that, we walked across the parking lot and went to Cafe Monet.  Cafe Monet is one of those places where you paint pottery.  Noah painted a cat bowl for Calvin.

We stopped at HEB on the way home.

Noah is about to go to bed soon.  In the morning, he and Rachel are running the Race for the Cure.

Until next time...

Lots of Friends

This morning we walked to school and then Morry and I stopped at Grandma and Papa's house to get the mail.

I did some cleaning around the house and then went for a run.  I ran to Wholy Bagel and Morry met me there.

After lunch, I rode back home with Morry.

We walked to get the kids from school.

Around 4pm Evan's friend Carter came over to spend the night.  At 5pm I dropped Noah off at a birthday party.

We ordered pizza, ate, and the Morry went to pick up Noah from the party.

For dessert we all went to TCBY.

The boys are ready for bed now and in the game room about to watch a movie.

Lots of Stuff

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was a very nice crisp cool morning this morning.  We walked to school and Lizzy enjoyed herself.  When we got home, Rachel took Lizzy out for a much longer walk, about 2 miles or so.  Rachel said that Lizzy did well.

I went into Aaron's and then I had a lunch meeting with the CEO of Your Trainer to discuss ideas.  It was a good meeting.

When I got home, Rachel was leaving to get Noah a bit early from school.  She was taking Noah to get a second opinion for his tonsils.  I walked to get Evan.

Rachel dropped Noah off after the appointment and then went to a student's to tutor.

The boys and I played football outside and then watched an episode of the Simpsons.

We had pasta for dinner.

The boys are in the shower and then they'll go to bed.

Until next time...

No School

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

The boys were off for Veteran's Day.  It was nice not getting up as early.

In the morning, I had a guy come by to look at the water drainage issues in our backyard.  He's getting us a bid.  He was the guy who fixed our landscape lighting in the spring.

Rachel had a dentist appointment later in the morning.  I took Noah over to Caleb's for his birthday party.

Rachel picked up Noah on her way home.

In the afternoon, Evan had some friends over.  They played upstairs in the game room for a bit and then went outside to play football.  Noah joined them.

In the later afternoon/evening, Evan and I went to baseball practice.  Noah went with Rachel to tutoring.

At baseball practice, we had a "Home Run Derby" with wiffleballs.  Your turn was done when you got three outs.  All the boys were shagging.  Evan made two amazing diving catches.  After one, he got up and kind of put his hands up like "thank you, thank you".  It was funny.

We had leftover fajitas from last night for dinner.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Busy Afternoon

This morning we walked to school.

I went for a run and later went to the Pink Ribbon Cowgirls lunch.

I left to tutor around 2:15pm.

After school Noah was going to Math Pentathlon and Evan was going over to Wade's house.  Morry didn't have to go to the school this afternoon.  Both boys got rides home later in the afternoon.

I stopped at Target on my way home from tutoring.

For dinner we had fajitas.  Then, we went for a walk.

The boys don't have school tomorrow, so they are still up playing video games.

Final Week of Sports

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This week starts our final week of sports for the fall season.  Football is over now.  Evan has one baseball practice this week with a final tournament this weekend.  After that our evenings and weekends will be much calmer.

Today was the coldest morning of the fall so far.  It was about 51 degrees when we left to walk to school.  It was bright and sunny so it really didn't feel so bad.  Noah took off his jacket half way through the walk.  Lizzy seemed to like the cooler weather.

I went into Aaron's to try to solve a Your Trainer issue this morning.  It took a while and I was puzzled but I was able to figure it out.

Rachel stayed home and took it easy.

I stopped at Smoothie King on the way home.  I bumped into Darius' parents there.

We walked to get the boys.  We stopped at Grandma and Papa's on the way to bring their trash can and recycling can in.

Rachel had a long day of tutoring.  She left in the afternoon after we got home.

Rachel should be home soon from tutoring.  I'm grilling pork right now.

Until next time...

Steelers and Bucs

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan's baseball games weren't supposed to be until late afternoon, so it gave us the opportunity to sleep in.

When I got up, the boys were playing in the game room.  I went downstairs and took care of bills and other things around the house.

At noon, the Steelers game started. Both boys came down.  Rachel came down and went for a long run.  It was a nice sunny, cool day - a good day for a run.

The Steelers game ran longer than I had thought.  They ended up winning.  After the game, the boys went upstairs to start cleaning up the game room.

I got some food ready for Evan before we left for the baseball game.  He ate it and we both got ready and left for the game.

Noah and Rachel went to Brody's party.  It was a Star Wars party.  They were showing Star Wars to all the kids.  Noah had a good time and stayed until 8pm.

When we got to the fields, the games were running late.  We had to argue with the tournament director a bit but we only started about 20 minutes late.  The Bucs took the lead after one inning, 4-1.  Evan was playing third base.  In the second inning, Evan was holding the runner on at third.  The pitcher threw over to Evan and the runner broke for home.  Evan fired a bullet home getting the runner.  Evan popped out in the bottom of the second.  In the top of the third, the other team had bases loaded with no outs.  The coach called on Evan.  Evan struck out the first batter.  He had two strikes on the second batter.  The runner on third came off the base a bit much and the runner took off for home.  The third baseman threw home to get out #2.  The next pitch was a strike for the third strike and the third out.  No one runs scored.   In the bottom of the third, we scored 4 runs.  Evan got a hit and scored the 4th run.  In the top of the fourth, Evan struck out the first batter.  He got 0-2 on the second batter.  That batter then fouled off a few pitches in between some balls.  The count got to 3-2.  Evan didn't seem to be phased and threw strike three for the second out.  He threw two strikes on the next batter.  The batter then hit a ball back to Evan who threw to first for the final out of the game.  Bucs win 9-2.  The final line on Evan, 2IP 0R 0ER 4K.  So this weekend in five innings, Evan struck out 10 batters.

We had a little ceremony where the boys got rings.  This was the biggest ring of all.  Evan was very proud.

Evan wanted to stop at Subway for a sub on the way home.  So we picked one up.

The boys are now sleeping and I'm about to go up to bed.

Until next time...

Rain and Sports

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan had two baseball games scheduled today.  One at 8am and one at 9:30am.  He had at least one football game scheduled at 1pm.  If they won at 1 they played at 2 and if they won at 2, they would play at 3.  We woke up and it was raining.  I checked and all the games were still on.  Noah wanted to come with Evan and me.

We left, stopped at the atm, and then stopped at Donut Taco Palace and went out to the fields.  The temperature was in the high 50s.  There was a constant light drizzle and it was windy.  So it was pretty cold.  Noah ended up sitting on the bench with the boys to stay warm.

Evan got the start in the first game.  It was his first start of the season and only the second time he has ever started a game.  He started the game by striking out the side.  He looked great.  In the bottom of the first he crushed the ball to left.  The left fielder dove for it and trapped the ball on the ground. You could actually see the ball roll.  The umpire called Evan out.  Where is the replay!?  Evan got struck out another batter in the 2nd.  Then he was screwed by the umpires twice.  The first time the umpire told the batter to take first base on a walk on the third ball and not the fourth.  I don't know how he got to four balls.  We keep track of that stuff and I was keeping track in my head.  Then he we got the third out at first and the umpire called the boy safe.  Again, it wasn't really a tough call.  It didn't seem close to me.  A run scored on the play.  Ultimately, that was the only run that Evan would allow.  In the third inning, he added two more strikeouts including one to end the inning.  We scored a ton of runs.  Evan had a solid hit and RBI in the third inning.  Our big innings took up enough time that the game only went three innings.  So Evan pitched a complete game - 3IP, 1 Run, with 6 strikeouts.  So of the 9 outs he recorded six of them by strikeout.  He looked great.

In the second game, Evan walked and singled again.  He also had a great play on a slow roller at third base.  The Bucs won that game as well.

We left the fields and went to Texadelphia for lunch.

The football fields were gross.  The were covered in water.  Anywhere you stepped, even if it looked like there was no water, when you stepped, you'd sink and water would come out of the ground.  The team seemed tired and not aggressive.  Unfortunately, the team lost that game.  It was for the best.  It saved them from having to play two more games.

We came home and put on dry clothes.  Then we relaxed.

We had a Post-Halloween party to go to at our neighbors.  We went there at dinner time.  It was very nice.  We enjoyed ourselves.

After that, we did a quick shopping trip at HEB.  The boys seemed very hyper.

They are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...

Welcome Home Flash

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Grandma and Papa had planned a trip to Italy long before the move.  Their flight was out of Dallas.  But when they decided to move to Austin, they booked a flight to/from Dallas.  Their flight this morning was set for 7:05am.  I got up at 5 to take them to the airport.  When I got downstairs, my cell phone rang.  The flight had been cancelled.  In fact many flights had been cancelled.  So they jumped in the car and drove to Dallas to be able to get their flight.

I went back to bed for an hour.  We were able to walk to school.  Shortly after we got home, we put Calvin in the carrier to take him to the vet.  He needed his yearly checkup.  We decided to schedule it on the same day as we were picking Flash up after his quarantine.  Getting Calvin into the carrier was considerably easier than Flash.  In fact, all I did was pick Calvin up and put him in the carrier.  He immediately laid down and let us zip it up.  It couldn't have been easier.

First they did the exam on Calvin.  He looked good.  And, in fact, he lost about a half of a pound since last year which was surprising.  Then they went to get Flash.  When they brought him in the room he was meowing really really loudly.  So we picked up Calvin and put him with Flash.  Flash immediately calmed down.   Flash finally got his rabies shot and we were able to bring him home.

Flash seemed glad to be home.  He even jumped up on my desk and laid on my computer.  I think his stomach was upset because he vomited some.  But he's been fine since.

Rachel left to get her packet for the Race for the Cure which is next weekend.  Then we met at Wholy Bagel.

We walked to get the boys.  Jack came home with us.  The boys were happy to see Flash.

For dinner, we ordered from Jet Pizza.  It was ok.

The boys are about to get ready for bed.

Until next time...

Noah Can't Handle the Tooth

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It had rained over night but it was not raining this morning.  The ground was wet but we were still able to walk to school.

I went into Aaron's for another Your Trainer meeting.

Rachel picked up the boys from school at 10:30 to take them to the dentist.  Evan did not have a cavity this time, thankfully.  The dentist said that Noah needed to get his loose front tooth taken out.  It was really just hanging by a thread but Noah has not wanted us to take it out.  Apparently, though, Noah threw a fit at the dentist.  He did not want them to take it out.  It became a big ordeal.  They told Rachel we needed to try to get it out tonight.

Rachel dropped the boys off at school and they finished out the day there.  Then we walked to get them.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.  On her way, she dropped Evan off at Wade's.  Wade's mom brought him back home.

The boys ate before Rachel got home.  Rachel and I ate later.

Grandma and Papa stopped over quickly to use our printer and scanner.

After the boys showered, Noah said we could pull his tooth.  The dentist gave us a numbing agent.  Rachel numbed around the tooth and then I pulled it out easily.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Walking

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning as we were getting ready to go, Evan walked by the front door and saw Grandma and Papa outside.  They were on their morning walk and decided to check to see if we had left yet to walk the boys to school.  They joined us on the walk.

When we got home, Rachel left to go on a hike with Deborah and two other women.  She said it was a nice hike.

I had a meeting with Your Trainer today about building an Apple TV app.

Jack walked home with us after school because Rachel was going to be tutoring him.

I had to run out and meet Carter's grandmother to get him.  She had to take Carter's brother, Ben, to his baseball practice.  I brought Carter back to our house while Evan got ready for practice.  Then Evan, Carter, and I drove to pick up Darius.

Rachel had to leave to tutor so she dropped Noah off at Grandma and Papa's.  He ate dinner with them and helped them unpack.  He seemed to have a really good time.

Baseball practice went really well.  Evan just keeps getting better and better at third base.  He made two really nice plays there today.  He also pitched and hit well.

Evan, Rachel and I had leftovers for dinner.

The boys are asleep and I'm about to go to bed myself.

Until next time...

Zayde Goes Home

This morning we walked the boys to school.  It was very foggy outside.

Morry and Zayde went to breakfast at Kerbey Lane and then Morry took Zayde to the airport.  From there, Morry went to a meeting.

Deborah came over for a little while until it was time to get the boys.  She came to hang out and work on her computer.

I left to tutor while Morry went to school.  He picked up Evan and Jack since John wasn't feeling well.  Noah was staying at school for Math Pentathlon.

Morry and Evan left for baseball. Noah stayed home. I came home a little while later.

When Morry and Evan got home we grilled/baked our steak and fish and then ate dinner.

The boys are ready for bed now.

Just Another Monday

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We walked to school this morning.  The only thing different on our walk was we actually bumped into Grandma.  She walked with us to the trail and then continued on her way.

I went into Aaron's for a bit.  While I was there, Deborah picked up Rachel to help get stuff for one of the Pink Ribbon Cowgirls who was not feeling well.  Zayde stayed at home during all of this.

I stopped at Smoothie King on the way home for lunch.  Zayde had his leftovers from yesterday.

Rachel and I picked up the boys from school.  Then Rachel went to tutoring.

After the boys finished their homework, they played with Zayde in the game room.

We had hamburgers and baked potatoes for dinner.

The boys are going to jump in the shower and then go to bed.

Until next time...

Sports

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning we took it easy.  Rachel and I slept in and the boys played with Zayde.

We decided to go to a sports bar to watch the Steelers play.  Evan had to be at the baseball fields by 3pm so we could only stay for the first half.  Zayde, Evan, Noah and I went to Doc's Backyard.  Rachel stayed home as she had to tutor.   Doc's Backyard has a playscape and playground there.  The boys played while we waited for our food and then came back and watched the game with us.  It was very nice.

When we got home, Evan and I quickly got ready to for the game and left.

During warmups we found out the games were running 1.5 hours behind.  That mean our 4pm game was at 5:30 and our 5:30 game wasn't until 7.  We realized it was going to be a late night.  I was not able to warn Rachel before she left to come to the fields with Zayde and Noah.

Evan played well in the first game.  He fielded a ball nicely in the first inning but unfortunately overthrew the first baseman.  He made up for it in the bottom of the first with a double into the gap between left and center.  The Bucs won the game 10-2.

In the second game, the starting pitcher for the Bucs was a bit wild.  So with 1 on and nobody out in the second, they brought Evan into the game.  He pitched 3 innings allowing only no runs, one hit and two walks.  The two walks came as he tired in his third inning of work.  He did very well though.  He was very glad that Zayde got to see him pitch.

We didn't get home until 9pm and we had dinner.  Noah went to sleep as soon as he was done with dinner.  Evan took a bit of time to unwind.

Until next time...
