Tomatoes

During the day we stayed at home. I got stuff done around the house and the boys played outside.

For lunch, Evan and Noah wanted to eat outside. There were a couple of ripe tomatoes on the vine so I let the boys pick them. There's a video below.

One of my students canceled today because of TAKS testing this week. When Morry got home we went to Evan's baseball game. I left a little early to go tutor.

Morry and the boys went to Chick Fil A for dinner.

When I got home I the boys were ready for bed.

I just ate my dinner and Evan is still awake and running around.

Spinach Sandwich and Gardening

This morning Noah gave me a hard time leaving the house. He didn't want his shoes on.

We went to the gym and I did a Pilates class.

When we got home the boys helped me plant the plants in pots. They enjoyed scooping up the soil from the bag and putting it in the pots. Evan and Noah also had a good time watering the plants too.

After we planted everything I made lunch. Evan wanted to sit outside to eat lunch. Noah got in a really bad mood and was throwing a fit about everything. He did that the whole entire time Evan and I were trying to eat our lunch. It seemed like Noah was just making up things to get upset about. When Evan sat down in his usual seat Noah threw a fit that he wanted to sit there. Then Noah was mad because I was eating lunch (?). He was screaming/crying I don't want you to eat lunch. Then Evan and I were talking about having the jello we made for dessert after dinner. Noah threw a fit saying "Jello is not for dessert". Like I said, I think he was just making up things to throw a fit about. It was not a very pleasant lunch, but somehow Evan ended up eating very well. Evan requested a spinach sandwich (spinach and bread only) and ate the whole thing. He also ate a side of tomatoes and a bowl of fruit (oranges and grapefruit).

Noah did eventually eat his lunch, but he didn't eat that much.

I put Noah down for a nap, but he just played in his room.

Gabby came at 4pm and I tutored late.

Morry and the boys had pasta for dinner and Morry put the boys to bed.

Here's a video from gardening today

Healthy Eaters

This morning we had a guy come give us an estimate on tree trimming. He was such a salesman. It was really annoying. I did not like his tactic at all. He was willing to give me a lower price (by $200) if I agreed to go with him right then. We had a coupon and he wouldn't tell me the quote until I told him what coupon it was that I had. I told him that that shouldn't matter. I was glad to see him go.

The boys and I went to the gym. I did a yoga class.

Before I left the house I cut up the rest of these little yellow tomatoes we had. It was a pretty big bag, but I figured if Evan didn't finish we could save the rest for later. When we got in the car I gave the boys snacks. Noah had a bag of apples and Evan had the tomato bag and a bag of apples. Evan chose the tomatoes first and ate all of them.

We ran into CVS to get free Crest toothpaste - a coupon deal.

Then, we went to Newflower. The boys love going to Newflower because we get fruit things (dried fruit sticks/fruit leather, whatever you call it) and they always get their free cookie at the end. As we were picking out vegetables Noah saw the bean sprouts and wanted me to buy some. I put some in a bag and then he wanted to hold the bag. He wanted the sprouts as a snack so I let him eat a few.

When we got home the boys ate lunch outside.

I got dinner ready for tonight.

Around 5pm Gabriella called to see if we wanted to come over and play for a little bit. The boys enjoyed playing in the backyard. We only stayed for a little while.

We had dinner (pork ribs and baked potato). I left for tutoring and Morry put the boys to bed.

When I came home both boys were in bed and asleep.

Here's a picture of Noah snacking on the bean sprouts.

Yoga at the Gym

This morning Evan woke up around 8am and Noah a little after.

We went to 24 Hour Fitness so that I could try out their Yoga class at 11am. I dropped off the boys at the childcare. While I was dropping them off I saw two moms from the Circle C Moms club. The Yoga class was pretty crowded. Overall, it was good, but since I was in the back I couldn’t see the instructor so well. I had to look at what the people in front of me were doing. It wasn’t quite as good at the breast cancer yoga class, but at least this way I had the childcare there at the gym. Evan and Noah did well. Noah was happy to see me and he was not crying.

We came home and had lunch. Neither Evan nor Noah ate very much.

I put the boys down for naps and they slept well.

Morry had to wake Evan up when he got home so that they could go to Evan’s sports class.

It sounded like Evan had a good time and did well in the class. There was only 1 other kid there today. They did hockey today and Evan made a lot of goals.

While Evan and Morry were at the Little Gym I got dinner ready. I had put corned beef in the crock pot earlier. I cut up some veggies and got the mashed potatoes started. I also got Evan’s lunch ready for tomorrow. Noah was being very demanding and it took a lot longer than usual to get everything done.

When Evan and Morry came home we had dinner. Evan and Noah ate a ton of corned beef. They loved it! Evan also ate all the vegetables I gave him (tomato, carrots, and red bell pepper).

Evan and Noah are now eating Pez candy that we got them for Valentine’s Day. As soon as they are done we’ll put them to bed.

Noah Gets Into Trouble at Playgroup

Evan was up early again and Morry got him set up in the game room.

We went to playgroup this morning at Sonya and Avery’s house. It was nice, and the boys were having fun. Sonya and I were talking in the dining room where Noah was along with some other kids. She was just telling me that I shouldn’t feel like I need to stay in that room. The kids were playing well and there were lots of toys in the room. Just as she was saying that, Noah went to the corner of the room (where there weren’t any toys) and pulled a wine glass off of a rack. Before I could get over there he dropped it on the floor and it broke. I felt horrible. Sonya was not mad and said it was ok, but still I felt bad. We were both standing there. I just couldn’t get over there in time. A little later, Noah got into a stamp pad and got ink all over the hardwood floor and himself. Luckily it easily wiped off the floor.

After playgroup, we stopped by the library and returned some videos.

At home, Evan had a good lunch. He ate lots of tomatoes and enjoyed making his own jelly sandwich. I put bread, and little cups of jelly and almond butter on his plate. He enjoyed using his knife to spread the jelly on the bread. He didn’t eat the almond butter though. Noah just made a mess and threw his jelly sandwich on the floor. Maybe he ate a little bit of it?

Evan and Noah only napped for about an hour or an hour and a half.

Morry picked Grandmom/Marilyn up from the airport and got home around 4:30. Evan and Noah seemed happy to see her. Evan wanted to play games on her iphone.

We all went out to eat at the Olive Garden. The boys were pretty good and Evan ate a lot of pasta.

We just put the boys to bed, but Evan is still up and fighting sleep.

Another school day and Another Bedtime fight

This morning Evan was up early again and Morry got him breakfast and a movie in the gameroom.

At 9:00 Noah and I took Evan to school.

At home, I just did a lot of cleaning and laundry – well, the best I could with Noah getting into trouble. I was putting clothes in the dryer I heard Noah say, “Uh oh” over and over. I went to see what he was talking about. There were cherry tomatoes all over the kitchen floor, some of which were squished. He must have opened the refrigerator (like he does 100 times a day) and pulled out the container of tomatoes.

After lunch we picked Evan up from school. Evan seemed to have a good day. He told me it was Benjamin’s birthday and they had cupcakes with candy (sprinkles) on them.

Evan and Noah took good naps.

I got dinner ready so we could eat pretty soon after Morry got home. We had crock pot ribs and potatoes.

After dinner we went to HEB to pick up a few groceries.

We just gave the boys baths and put them to bed. Evan is still fighting it. He’s in the hallway crying right now. Noah is still making noise too. I’m sure Evan’s keeping him up.

House Cleaning

This morning we were woken up around 8am from our neighbor’s landscapers. They usually come really early on either Friday or Saturday morning. I was especially tired since Evan woke up in the middle of the night last night. He was crying for some reason. He calmed down pretty quickly. When I went in his room he told me he wanted water. I filled his cup with water and then he went back to sleep. Maybe he had a bad dream?

At 9:45am the housecleaning lady came. She didn’t speak any English so I had to show her around the house and explain things in Spanish. It was her first time at our house. I negotiated a price with her, but then called Yenis to translate and make sure I really understood. I had understood, but I just wanted to be sure so we didn’t have any problems at the end.

Evan, Noah, and I went to Newflower and got some fruit and veggies for the weekend. Then, we met Morry for lunch. I needed to be home by 1:15 for an online focus group. Morry was on a call when we met him at work so we were late going to lunch. We went to Chick-Fil-A (Evan’s request). I had to quickly eat lunch and rush home. Morry brought the boys home a little later so they could stay and play longer.

I got home, signed on to the computer and a few minutes later got a message saying there were too many people in the focus group. I won the lottery and was dismissed from the group, with pay. It was supposed to be an hour long chat session on drinks for $75. So, I got paid $75 for nothing. Great deal!

I took the boys in the backyard and we played for a little while. Evan watered our little garden. We noticed a little green tomato and a few jalapeno peppers finally started growing. Evan was pretty excited about the tomato. I explained that it wasn’t quite ready to eat yet and we’d have to keep watching it until it turned red.

Evan and Noah went down for naps around 2:00.

Grandma/Lynn and Papa/Lenny got here around 3:00. Since the cleaning lady was still here we just sat outside on the upstairs patio. Noah woke up at 3:30 and Evan woke up a little later.

For dinner we went to Cypress Grill. Evan and Noah were very well behaved and ate well. Evan had his own shrimp kids meal.

We just put the boys to bed, but Evan is still awake. He was just crying for Daddy, so Morry is up there trying to get Evan to sleep.

Backyard Fun

This morning Yenis and Kevin came over and we spent the whole morning outside in the backyard. Evan and Kevin play very well together. Noah loved being outside. We came in for lunch. Evan and Kevin sat together at the red table. They talked to each other during lunch. It was very cute. I’m not sure what they were talking about. At one point I heard Kevin ask Evan if he liked tomatoes. Yenis and Kevin went home around 2:00 and I put the boys down for naps.

Evan and Noah slept very well. Blanca came at 3:00. She said Noah slept until 4:30. When I got home from tutoring at 5:30 Evan was still sleeping. He must have been pretty worn out.

We had corned beef for dinner tonight.

After dinner we took a short walk and Evan walked/ran some of the way and sat in the stroller the rest.

Evan and Noah are in bed now, though both are still making noises.

Lots of tutoring

Luckily, we didn’t get any ice last night. Morry was able to drive to work this morning without any problems. It was really cold outside though.

I took Noah and Evan to the library this morning. They have a storytime there on Wednesdays at 10:15. I thought we would try it out. Neither of the boys seemed very interested in the librarian. They were more interested in the other kids and books. Noah kept trying to crawl over to someone else’s stroller that was next to us. He just wanted to play with the wheels. After the storytime we picked out a few books and a kid’s airplane movie to bring home.

For lunch I made quesadillas for Evan and cut gingerbread man shapes out of them hoping Evan would eat them. No such luck. Noah ate a lot of little pieces of quesadilla for both lunch and dinner. At least the quesadillas went in someone’s belly.

At 1:30 Blanca arrived and the homeschool Algebra II student came over and stayed until 4:00. Well, he actually stayed a little past 4:00. I told his mom I had to leave the house by 4:00 to meet another student, but for some reason she couldn’t get there in time. At least Blanca was in the house to wait with him until his mom came. At 4:30, I tutored another student for an hour.

I got home around 6:00. We ate chicken and rice soup I made earlier in the day and some leftovers from the other nights. Evan didn’t eat much, but Noah ate a lot ( like always). Noah had his cereal mix, baby food jar, quesadillas, tomatoes, a few pieces of ham, banana, and dried fruit.

After dinner I made cranberry apple crisp. I was in the mood for it. We’ll eat some in a few minutes when I get off the computer.

Evan and Noah are in bed, but it still sounds like they are still awake. Both have runny noses now… it looks like another cold is coming. ugh
