Noah in the house
I wanted to go for a walk this morning and he started complaining about going. I didn't feel like fighting and left him home with Morry.
Later, I needed to go to HEB and pick up Evan. Again, Noah didn't want to go. Morry said it was fine if I left him at home.
I know we can't do that all the time. I don't know why he fights things so much.
For dinner we had and Asian pasta boxed dinner that was pretty good and salad to go with it.
The boys are in the shower now.

Voting
This morning as I was getting ready, Evan came in the bathroom. When I was finished, I got him some breakfast and put on the tv for him in the gameroom.
Rachel took the boys to school and cleaned up the house while they were at school.
Since today is election day and I didn't do early voting, I figured it was best to vote during lunch. I knew there would be a line before and after work. Evan and Noah's school is right next to the elementary school where I vote so I told Rachel I'd pick them up.
So first, I went and voted. I got my first vote in an election ever. Once of the offices had a spot for a write-in candidate. I typed my name in and voted for myself. I wonder if that will show up in the election returns.
Then I went and picked the boys up. The only problem was that I was really early. I assumed that the voting wouldn't take long but I still left plenty of time. I walked right in there so I ended up being about 25 minutes early to pick up the boys. I went into Noah's room first and they were about to go outside to eat bread that the class had made with butter that the class had made. The butter was made by shaking heavy whipping cream for an hour. All the kids took turns shaking the butter. The teachers told me that Noah had a really good day at school. Apparently, Noah gets kind of whiny around mid-morning. Sometimes they take him into Evan's room and Evan gives Noah a hug and then Noah feels better and goes back to his class. When the kids were done eating their bread, Noah and I went and picked up Evan.
At home, Noah didn't take a nap. I heard him talking the whole time. Evan was very well behaved while watching tv downstairs. Occasionally, he'd come in and just give me a hug.
When Rachel left for tutoring, Blanca came over and took care of the boys. They were out back the whole time. At one point Lizzy was really barking at something. It was really annoying so I went outside. There was some frog out there. Lizzy was really drooling. I had remembered that my friend Dmitriy's dog had picked up a frog and the frog had peed in that dog's mouth. And that caused the dog to drool a lot and run around with it's mouth open and then drink. Lizzy was behaving the same way. I picked up the frog with a stick and put it outside the gate.
For dinner, I just made pasta. It's an easy meal when I'm by myself.
The boys are in bed now but neither one is sleeping. Oh, and Noah is doing very well without his pacifier. He didn't ask for it when I put him to bed tonight. We let him sleep with his light saber. That seems to be fine.
Until next time...

Swimming
The boys slept fairly well last night. Noah got up once coughing. Rachel, however, had a fever. It broke at some point in the night but came back about mid-day.
Evan came in our room sometime around 8:30 and Noah got up shortly after that. They played around the upstairs and in the gameroom for a while.
I got up a little while later with them and brought them downstairs for breakfast. We watched some tv and then I got them ready for swim class. Rachel had to come with us because I needed someone to watch Evan while I was in the pool with Noah.
In Noah's class, he cried or whined for the entire time. However, he did everything that the teacher wanted. They taught them to float on their back and look up at the ceiling. And later, they taught them to get out of the pool which I liked. Noah was the only child of three in his class to do all of the exercises.
Evan, again, seemed to enjoy his class. It's just him. At one point, the instructor was in the deep end with him, and they dipped down low enough for Evan to touch the bottom with his feet. I don't think he wanted to let go of the instructor, but he really enjoyed the whole class.
After swimming, we picked up smoothies. We came home and played outside for a bit. I pitched a wiffleball to Evan while Noah played golf. Then we went inside and had some lunch. Rachel went and laid down upstairs.
After Noah's nap, I made pasta for us for dinner. Rachel, who had taken some ibuprofen, came down. Her fever had broken again.
We went to HEB, because we really needed to and we weren't sure when we'd get an opportunity again, after dinner. The boys were really well behaved. We got a bunch of stuff because it had been a while.
When we got home, I gave the boys a shower. They are now in bed.
Until next time...

Morry Takes Evan to School
This morning Morry helped me out by getting Evan ready for school. Morry worked from home this morning and then took Evan to school.
We did not have any babysitters here today. It was just Noah and me this morning and then Evan as well for the afternoon.
Noah and I just stayed at home this morning. I was going to take a walk, but it was pretty cold outside.
Evan came home from school around 1:30.
I put the boys down for naps about 2:00. They both slept really well.
When Morry got home we got dinner ready. We had Asian pasta and the boys had chicken nuggets.
We are about to put the boys to bed. They are supposed to be cleaning up their toys right now. They are both fighting over the Woody doll.

McDonalds
For lunch, we took the boys to McDonalds. Morry said they had been really good this morning. Also, we didn’t feel like making lunch.
Evan and Noah did really well at McDonalds. Evan ate his nuggets, the apples, cookies, and apple juice. Noah just ate a few French fries and some apples. After we ate we went outside on the playground. Every time Evan disappeared in one of the tunnels, Noah would call out for him. There was another boy there a few years older than Evan. Evan followed the boy around everywhere.
When we got home we put they boys down for naps. They both slept well.
For dinner we had Asian pasta. Evan ate some macaroni and cheese. Noah ate a little bit of mac and cheese.
After dinner Morry took Evan and Noah outside in the backyard while I cleaned up. While they were out there Evan hit the baseball over the fence into our neighbor’s yard (Dingo’s family). Morry took the boys over to their house to get the ball back. Morry said when they went in their backyard Evan ran over and started playing on their playscape. And when they walked through the house Evan wanted to touch and see everything.
Evan and Noah are upstairs in their rooms, but neither one is asleep yet.

Nutty Brown
Evan woke up early this morning. We heard him singing the ABCs in his room in various voices (low, high, ..)
At 11:00am we met Susan, Frank, and Laurel (family from playgroup) at Nutty Brown for brunch. We were able to sit outside right by their sandbox. It was a little cool when we first got there and we had to wear our sweatshirts. By the end, both of our boys had their sweatshirts off and were covered in sand. We had a nice time. The brunch food was good and we had fun talking with Susan and Frank. We came home around 1am.
When we got home we put Evan and Noah down for naps. They both took pretty good naps, but Noah has been really cranky all afternoon and evening. I’m not sure what his problem is.
We Freecycled our old entertainment tv stand. We finally got rid of it and got it out of our game room. Some guy came and picked it up in his truck while the boys were napping.
Morry went to Sams Club to pick up some stuff we needed while Evan, Noah, and I played outside in the backyard.
When Morry got home we made dinner. We had a pasta bowl mix thing for dinner. I put zucchini, corn, and chicken with pasta and added some seasonings. We ate outside for dinner. We had a nice evening.
Below is a scan of Evan’s school picture. I’m not sure if we’ll order some. We’ll see.

Check ups for Evan and Noah
After the appointment I took the boys to the Circle C park for a little bit. Evan spent a lot of time on the basketball court. We didn’t have any balls with us, but he still had a good time. He pretended to throw basketballs.
After the park, we went to HEB to pick up Noah’s medicine, but it wasn’t ready yet.
When we got home we ate lunch outside. Noah was very cranky. The only time he didn’t cry was when he was eating puffs. He probably ate ½ of the container. I just wanted to keep him quiet so Evan and I could eat.
After lunch I put them down for naps.
Blanca came at 3:00pm and before I left I heard Evan talking in his room.
I tutored and got home at 8:00.
Morry made pasta for dinner for him and the boys.
Evan and Noah are in bed now. I think they are asleep.

Walk, HEB, and Walk
This morning we walked around the neighborhood. It was a little cool and we felt a few rain drops, but it never actually rained.
After the walk we went to HEB. I let Evan walk while Noah sat in the cart. Evan kept asking for samples and he knew exactly where to go. They normally have samples in the bakery and deli area. There weren’t many samples out today, but they did have some apple streusel thing that both boys ate. Evan also had some chunks of cheese samples and crackers in the deli section. The boys were good while I shopped. I got what I needed and saved $10 in coupons.
After HEB we came home and ate lunch. Evan didn’t eat much. All he ate was Alphabits cereal we bought at HEB today. He had 2 bowls – one without milk and one with. At least he ate something.
Evan and Noah took good naps.
While they were napping I gave Lizzy a trim. She was getting pretty fluffy.
Evan and Noah woke up around the time Morry came home.
For dinner we had HEB sliced turkey breast and an Asian pasta boxed dinner thing. We ate outside again.
After dinner we went for another walk. This time Evan rode his bike. At the start of our walk we saw Billy and Jan (our neighbors) outside so we talked to them for a little while. Then, we walked around the block.
The boys are playing and when I finish the blog we’ll go upstairs to put them to bed.
