Halloween 2016

This morning we walked the boys to school and then went to Camp Gladiator.

Zayde went to both boys' lunches at school.  First, he and Morry went to Noah's lunch.  Then, Zayde came home for a little bit and Grandma picked him up to go to Evan's lunch.

Morry and I walked to pick up the boys from school.

This afternoon we hung out at home.

We had an early dinner of grilled chicken and baked breadcrumb zucchini.

Then, around 6:30pm we started trick-or-treating.  Of course, the boys had a great time.   They got a ton of candy!  Noah's candy bag weighs 5 pounds and Evan's is 8.5 pounds.  Evan did a little more trick-or-treating than Noah.  We were on our way home with Evan and passed by a neighbor's house.  They had just gotten home and wanted to give us some of their candy.  They were trying to get rid of all of it.  They dumped almost the whole basket into Evan's bag!

While we were out, Zayde passed out candy at our house.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Here are some pictures from tonight.

Five Youth Sporting Events

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today, four youth sporting events were guaranteed to happen.  Evan had at least one baseball game and a flag football game.  Noah had two scheduled flag football games.  Evan had to be at the field at 9:30 so we left the house with Zayde at 8:30.  We stopped at Donut Taco Palace on the way.

Rachel and Noah were able to make it up to the game and got there shortly after the start.

Evan's team did well and won the game advancing to the semifinals.  Evan did not have a particularly great game.  He let a ball go through is legs in left field and didn't charge a ball when he was at third base.   He did pinch run at one point and did very well during that.  But it was good his team moved on.

Zayde, Rachel and Noah after that game so they could get back home to get ready for Noah's game.  Rachel dropped Zayde and Noah at Subway to get lunch while she went to HEB to pick up a prescription.

Noah's team did not do well in their first game.  Zayde texted me to say that Noah was their secret weapon though.  He had several running plays which was good.

In Evan's second baseball game, his team didn't score any runs in the top of the first.  In the bottom of the first, the other team scored 9 runs, had the bases loaded and two outs and they brought Evan in.  His first pitch was fouled off.  His second pitch was a ground ball to second base for the third out.  In the top of the second, Evan came up to bat with a runner on third and two outs.  He hit a ground ball to deep short and beat it out for an infield single which scored the first run of the game.  Evan came out and was able to get through the second inning without giving up a run.  He hit a batter and the second baseman had an error on what would have been the third out of the inning but he still managed to get through.  In the bottom of the third, Evan again pitched a scoreless inning.  He gave up one hit but that was it.  Evan came up to bat in the top of the fourth after we had scored 4 runs with two outs and a runner on second.  Evan lined a shot between the second baseman and second base to knock in the fifth run to make it 9-6.  Evan didn't pitch in the bottom of the fourth.  The other team scored one run to make it 10-6.  In the top of the fifth (the last inning), we scored one run and had runners at second and third with no outs and were not able to capitalize and fell 10-7.  The whole team played a great game though.  They definitely out hit the other team.  Several baserunning mistakes cost us the game.  But Evan really was a big hero in the game.  All his disappointment from the first game went away.

After the game we jumped in the car to get down to Evan's football game.  He had warmups one hour before his game.  We got there about 20 minutes late.  That meant I missed 20 minutes of Noah's second game.  I did get to see the end of the first half and all of the second half.  Noah ran the ball really well and the team came close to winning this time.  They did really well.

Evan's team won their game.  Evan almost had an interception where he jumped the route.  If he had held on he may have had a pick-6.  He caught one pass when he was on offense but played well in general.

Grandma and Papa had come to see the second half of Noah's second game and all of Evan's game.

From there we left and went to Tarbouch and had a nice dinner.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Easy Morning, Long Afternoon

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan was scheduled to play two baseball games at 4 and 5:45.  We had to be at the fields at 2:45 so we had to leave around 2.  Since we knew the games wouldn't be done until 7:15 at the earliest, we took it very easy this morning.

The boys played in the game room with the Playstation and Wii for most of the morning.  Zayde was in there with them.  Zayde was able to tell the boys about their family tree from that side.  Evan seemed very interested.

Rachel and I used the opportunity to sleep in some.  When we got up, Rachel went for a run.

We had waffles and eggs for brunch.

Then, Zayde, Evan, Noah and I left for the game,

In the first game, Evan played first base and right field.  He got one at bat and drove in a run.  I thought he was safe at first but the umpire called him out.  He got several opportunities at first base with throws over and pick offs.  It was good for him.

In the second game, Evan was catcher most of the game.  He really played well at catcher.  His throws to second and third looked great.  He had three hits in this game, including a double as well as a ball he really hit solidly to left.  He scored the first run of the game after doubling, taking third on a passed ball and scoring on a wild pitch.  The coach came up to me at the end to tell me he thinks they found a new catcher and they're going to really want to do some more work with Evan back there.  They said they wished they could clone Evan.  It was really nice to hear.  Evan was very happy with how the day went.

Rachel was invited by another blogger in the city to go see a acapella group named Straight No Chasers.  The blogger was able to invite 9 other bloggers in the city to go to a meet and greet, private preview, dinner and the show.  In return they just had to blog about the band.  Rachel was able to meet the band and seemed to have a good time.

For dinner, Zayde, Noah, Evan and I went to Texas Roadhouse after the game.  The boys ate well.

They are sleeping now and Rachel is on her way home.

Until next time...

More Pet Drama

This morning I did not have to go to the vet, since Flash was getting a transfer from the emergency vet to our vet.

We walked the boys to school.

Then, Seth came over to give us a garden bed box.  It's this new system he invented which is supposed to make it the easiest garden ever.  It is set up on our porch now and we are growing lettuce, kale, and spinach.

We took Zayde to Wholy Bagel for lunch.

Morry and I waked to school to pick up the boys.

Noah was invited to go over to Jude's house before football practice.

We were going to leave soon and all of sudden Morry heard Lizzy whimpering.  She was spread out on the floor and couldn't get up.  Once we got her sitting up, she wouldn't/couldn't move.

We called the vet, dropped off Noah at Jude's and drove Lizzy to the vet.

Then, we had both Lizzy and Flash at the vet.

As we were either there or on our way, Flash's doctor was leaving a message on our machine with an update.  She hung up and noticed Lizzy was in the back room getting examined, so she came out to talk to us.

Flash was doing a lot better and getting prepared to come home.

Lizzy had an x-ray and blood test.  It turns out she has some kind of vestibular (dizziness) thing going on that is common in older dogs.  It should get better over the next few days.  They gave us some anti-nausea medicine for us.  After her exam they said she was walking around fine trying to leave the room.

Around 6pm, we finally left the vet with both animals.

Morry dropped me off at home and then he and Zayde went to meet Noah at his football practice.  It sounded like Noah had a good practice.

For dinner, Zayde said he would take the boys where ever the wanted since they both brought home good report cards today.   The kids chose Buffet Palace, so we went there after practice.

It was actually pretty good tonight, much better than the last time we were there.  Everyone ate well.

Soon, the kids will get ready for bed.  It's been a long day.

Zayde In Town

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Rachel got up early again this morning to get Flash from the emergency vet and return him to the regular vet.  I walked with the boys to school.

After Camp Gladiator, Rachel went to Snooze for Selena's 50th birthday.

I met Daniel for lunch at a barbeque trailer called Valentina's.  It was quite crowded.  The food was pretty good.

Rachel got a call from HomeAway and they wanted to her to come in so she drove from Snooze to HomeAway.

After HomeAway, Rachel had another call for work and then went to tutor.

I picked the boys up from school.  When we got home the boys played outside.

Right before dinner, we drove out and picked Zayde up from the airport.  We went from the airport to Kerbey Lane where Rachel met us for dinner.  Noah had a good time teasing Zayde and had a laughing fit (he wanted that part in the blog).

We are home now and Evan is finishing up his homework.  Then he'll go to bed.

Until next time...

Sick Flashy

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Flash was acting sick yesterday.  By the time Evan and I left for his baseball practice last night, we were all concerned about him.  He was growing and hissing at Lizzy and Calvin if they came close to him.  When Evan and I got home, Rachel and I agreed, we needed to take him to the emergency vet.  We got him into his carrier easily (which showed us he must be really sick) and I took him.  They very quickly determined that he had a blockage in his urethra and couldn't urinate.  They had to do an emergency procedure overnight to unblock him.

Since the emergency vet is only open at night, we had to pick him up at 6:30 this morning and bring him to his regular vet.  Rachel got up early and did that.  I stayed with the boys and walked them to school.

Rachel rested most of the morning, but she did have a phone meeting for HomeAway.  She then had to go up to HomeAway for a meeting in the afternoon.

Evan's teacher sent some pictures of the kids at Camp Champions.  Below is a picture of Evan there.

I walked to get the boys.  We went to the book fair at the school before coming home.

Rachel had to get Flash at the regular vet and then bring him to the emergency vet around 6pm.  He needs to be under constant care and again, the regular vet is only open so long and the emergency vet then has to take over.  We'll have to do another transfer tomorrow morning.  Hopefully he'll be able to come home tomorrow night.

Evan, Noah and I went to Evan's practice.  We stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods on the way because Evan needed new shoes.

Evan had a good practice.  He hit well and he had to run pulling weights.  It looked tough, but he enjoyed it.

For dinner, we had hamburgers on the grill and corn on the cob.

The boys are in bed.

Until next time...

Evan's home

This morning we walked Noah to school and then went to Camp Gladiator.

I quickly got cleaned up and left to go to a Home Away meeting.

I came home around 1pm.

The kids from the 5th grade field trip arrived at the school around 1:45 and parents could pick up their kids then.  We drove to get Evan.  He seemed to have a good time.

We were home for a little bit and then we walked to get Noah from school.

My tutoring got canceled today.

Morry and Evan are are baseball practice now.

Noah and I ate leftovers for dinner at home.

Noah is getting ready for bed now.

Camp Champions

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Today the fifth graders went to Camp Champions.  You can read more about Camp Champions here.  The kids stay over night in cabins and they will return tomorrow.  Evan need to be dropped off at the school by 7am.  I drove him there and made sure he was waiting in the right spot with his class and then came home.

Rachel, Lizzy and I walked Noah to school when I got home.

We did Camp Gladiator this morning.  It was cooler though it had rained earlier in the morning so it was kind of humid.

When we got home, I went into Aaron's.  Rachel stayed at home.

Rachel and I both walked to get Noah.  It seemed so quiet where we pick the boys up with no fifth graders around.

Noah had football practice this afternoon.  When we got home, we had dinner outside on the porch.  It's finally cool enough to eat out there and the bugs aren't as bad.

Noah will be going to bed soon.

Until next time...

Really Busy Weekend

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Yesterday, each boy had a flag football game, a camp reunion picnic for Camp Kesem, and Evan had two baseball games.  Evan, Noah, and I left the house a little after 10.  Noah had warmups and then his game.  He played well.  He got a handoff on the first series and beat everyone except for one boy who was able to force him out of bounds.  Noah had another good run and a good flag pull as well.  Noah's team lost on the last play of the game.

Evan's game was right afterwards.  He played very well, catching 5 or 6 passes including an extra point.  He also played good defense when he was in on defense.  His team though, didn't play well and they lost.

The picnic was fun.  Evan got to see his favorite counselor and stayed with him most of the time.  They played some football.  Noah seemed to have fun, though none of his counselors were there.

From there, Rachel and Noah went home, and Evan and I drove an hour north to Taylor for Evan's games.  Evan's team lost both games but Evan played extremely well.  They decided to try him out at catcher.  Evan threw the first kid out who tried to steal on him (the play was at third) and he did very well.  His coaches said he had "natural ability" at catcher and they plan to use him there more in the future.   Evan had two hits in the second game and he pitched well.  He faced four batters, struck out one, and only threw 2 balls - the rest were strikes.

We got home after 11pm and Evan finally got to bed just before midnight.

We had to leave this morning around 7:30 for his game.  We stopped at Donut Taco Palace on the way.

Rachel and Noah were able to come up for this game.

Evan played almost the entire game at third base.  He didn't get a hit today and his team lost.  In general, though, he looked pretty good.  His at-bats, even when he doesn't get hits, look much better.

Rachel went to HEB before coming home.  I stopped with the boys at Subway for lunch.

In the afternoon, we watched the Steelers.

Evan took a break from the game and rode his bike 7.5 miles with Papa.  Apparently, he didn't have enough physical activity this weekend.

Then we ordered Papa John's and watched Timeless.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Sukkot

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

There was no Camp Gladiator this morning.  Rachel thought she might run but decided to take it easy.

Deborah came over for her weekly, work-from-the-Belkins.  I had to run out in the morning but I met Rachel at Wholy Bagel.

Deborah came with us to get the boys from school.

The new synagogue that the Krasnows joined was having a Sukkot celebration tonight.  They invited us along to go.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Meeting At Aaron's

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning, Rachel walked with Lorena after dropping the boys off at school.  Lizzy and I walked home after saying goodbye to the boys.

I went into Aaron's this morning.  Aaron, Mandy and I had a meeting about Focus Forward.  It was a good productive meeting.

For lunch, we met Mike before he left to go home to Seattle.  We ate at this little Mexican restaurant that I had never been to.  It was pretty good.

Rachel didn't have to tutor this afternoon so she stayed at home after walking to get the boys.

I took Evan to practice in the afternoon.  We stopped at Grandma and Papa's on the way home to drop off a packet that Evan's teacher wanted to give to Grandma since she is helping to teach.

We had smoked turkey legs for dinner.

Rachel is helping Evan with his math now.  After that the boys will get ready for bed.

Until next time...

Home Late

We walked to school and then went to Camp Gladiator.

Two of my tutoring sessions got canceled today, so I was able to walk to school to pick up the boys.

I left the house around 3:45 for one tutoring session.

Morry took Noah to Grandma and Papa's and then he and Evan went to baseball practice.

After my tutoring I went to a dinner for the Pink Ribbon Cowgirls.

I got Noah at Grandma and Papa's on my way home.

We got home around 8:30.  Morry and Evan got home a little after us.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Tacos with Uncle Mike

This morning we walked to school and then went to Camp Gladiator.

We walked again in the afternoon to pick up the boys.  It's still pretty hot here.  It was in the 90s this afternoon.

Noah had football practice this afternoon.

Uncle Mike came in town last night for work, so we had dinner together tonight. We walked over to Grandma and Papa's house. Papa picked up Torchy's Tacos and we ate at their house.  We had a nice time.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Disappointing Game

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan has been asking to go to this place called Doc's to watch the Steelers game.  They have a playground outside, and they have big screens everywhere showing the games.  The Steelers game was not on local television this week and Evan didn't have a baseball game so we decided to go.  Noah joined us.  Also, Evan's friend Jesse came with us.

Within 3 minutes of being there, Evan and Noah made a friend.  He was another Steelers fan who "almost 13".  They played football outside until the game started.  He'd come over to our table and hang out with us some.

The game itself kind of stunk.  So that was disappointing.

Rachel braved HEB while we were at the game.  She was still there when we got home.

For dinner, Grandma and Papa came over.  We grilled a pork tenderloin.  Rachel roasted garlic to put on sourdough bread she got.  For dessert, Rachel made a cranberry-apple crisp.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

More Fog

This morning it was really foggy again while we walked to school.

I did some work in the morning and later Morry and I went to Wholy Bagel for lunch.

Deborah came over around 1:something.  She walked with us to pick up the boys from school and then hung out at the house in the afternoon.  We both worked from the kitchen table.

Morry, Evan, and Noah went to Noah's football practice.  Evan helped and Noah did very well during practice.

For dinner, they picked up Yaghi's pizza on the way home.

We watched the show Timeline as we ate our dinner.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Social Rachel

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

It was very foggy and humid this morning when we walked to the boys to school.  The fog mostly lifted by the time we had Camp Gladiator, but the humidity was still there.  It made it tough to work out.

For lunch, Rachel continued her week of going out and met her friend Melissa.  It had been quite some time since they saw each other.

The boys were in a good mood when we picked them up from school.  Evan had a good game of football at recess, apparently.

Rachel tutored in the afternoon.

For dinner we had leftover corned beef and grilled corn on the cob.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Meetings

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We didn't have a Camp Gladiator class today so Rachel went for a run when we got home.

After her run, Rachel had a phone meeting with someone from HomeAway.  He wanted to prepare for their meeting this afternoon.

Rachel then got ready to go and went up to HomeAway.  She met Aaron there and they also prepared for the meeting.  They went to Whole Foods for lunch.

I went to Smoothie King at lunch time.

Rachel's actual meeting was in the early afternoon and ended at the time we had to pick up the boys so she wasn't able to come get the boys.  She got home shortly after we got home.

Evan had strength and conditioning and hitting practice today.  The were pushing a sled today with 40 pounds of weight on the sled.  It looked very tough and tiring.  Then Evan did well hitting.

We had corned beef for dinner.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Another late one

This morning we walked to school and then Morry and I went to Camp Gladiator.

I went to Whole Foods for the Pink Ribbon Cowgirl lunch and had a nice time.

I was supposed to tutor 3 students today, but 2 cancelled because it was a no homework day in their district.

I was able to walk to school to pick up the kids.

I left to tutor. When I got home Morry and  Evan were eating their dinner.

They left for baseball practice.

Noah and I ate dinner together at home.

Noah is getting ready for bed.  Morry and Evan are still at baseball practice.

Day off with Teacher Conferences

This morning the kids did not have school.  We still got up early and went to Camp Gladiator.

We had to be at the school at noon for parent-teacher-student conferences.  We walked there.

First, we had Evan's conference with 3 of his teachers.  All had great things to say about him.  He took some type of benchmark test for reading and scored 90%, either the highest or one of the highest in his grade.  His teacher was very impressed.  Apparently this test was over material that they will learn later in the year.

Noah's teacher also had great things to say about him.  He's doing well with his classwork and has some good friends in the class.

This afternoon we took it easy.  The kids played outside with the neighbors.

Noah had football practice from 5:30-6:30.  Morry and Evan went with him.

After that we all went to HEB to pick up a few things.

Then, we had hamburgers at home.

The kids are in bed now.

More Sports Sunday

We took it easy this morning.

Evan had a 2:15 game, arriving at 1:15.  Morry and Evan left the house around noon to go to baseball in Georgetown again.  They lost the game, so were done with the tournament after that.

From there, they went to football.

Evan had a 6pm football with a practice before it.

Noah and I met them for the football game.  Evan played well.

For dinner we met Deborah at Tarbouch.  The food was good.  The kids ate well.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Late Baseball Games

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan's baseball games were later today so that let us all sleep in.

When we all got up, Evan, Rachel and I took a long walk.   Noah didn't want to come and stayed home.

We had leftovers for lunch.

Rachel was supposed to tutor after lunch but her tutoring got canceled.

The boys and I watched the Texas-OU football game.  Just as the game was ending, Evan's friend and teammate, Reid, came over.  His parents had asked if we could bring him to the game.

Evan's first game went well.  Evan struck out in his first at-bat but doubled and knocked in a run in his second at bat.  He made a nice play when playing second base and also played well in left field.  His team tied when the coaches of the other team bullied the umpires into calling a balk.  Had that run not scored to tie the game, Evan's team would have won.

Grandma, Papa, Aunt Susan, Noah and Rachel went to Fish City Grill for dinner and then came to the game.  They were able to see the first game and all of the second.

In the second game, Evan pitched.  He got out of one inning when he came in with two outs and runners on.  The first pitch was a strike, the second pitch was a easy pop up to short.  In the next inning, he struck out a batter and ran into some bad luck.  He got a pop up to center that the center fielder just dropped.  He also fielded a ball hit back to him and threw over to first and the first baseman dropped it.  He ended up giving up two runs but both were unearned.  He should have gotten out of the inning easily.  Nevertheless, he had a pretty good game.  He grounded out in his first at bat and absolutely crushed the ball in his second at bat but the centerfielder made a nice play to catch it.

It was good having everyone there to watch Evan.

We are home now and the boys are ready for bed.

Until next time...

Bagels and Work

This morning we walked to school.  There was no Camp Gladiator today.

Morry and I got our usual Friday bagels at Wholy Bagel.

After lunch Deborah came over to work and hangout.  We both did work at the kitchen table on our computers.

Morry and I walked to pick up the kids from school.

Evan went home with Wade.

Later in afternoon Jude came over to play with Noah.

Evan was dropped off at home and shortly after Morry, Noah, and Jude went to football practice.

Evan played in the cul-de-sac with Nathan for a while.

When they got home we tried to make plans for dinner.  Morry, Evan, and I wanted Pinthouse Pizza, but Noah complained that he didn't want that.  So, we ended up calling in the order for pizza, picking it up, and then picking up Subway for Noah on the way home.

We ate our dinner while we watched the new TV show, Timeless.  We all liked it.  The boys wanted to watch the next episode, but we had to explain to them that it wasn't out yet and we'd have to wait until next week.

Now the boys are getting ready for bed.

Mrs. Grandma

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We went to Camp Gladiator this morning after taking the kids to school.  Today was a bit different.  The normal trainer brought in a yoga instructor so it was a yoga session.  I knew the yoga instructor.  He was a trainer that had worked with Your Trainer to create all the videos and workout sessions.  We talked for a bit before class.  The class was good.

When we got home, Rachel went on a walk with Lorena.

I stayed home today.

Evan's teacher asked if either Rachel or Grandma would be willing to work with a few kids each week on advanced math.  It was opened up to all the kids in the class and those kids that were interested could do it.  Evan, of course wanted to do the advanced math.  So Grandma came into school today and worked with 12 of the kids from Evan's class.  Rachel joked about what Evan would call her.  She said that Evan should call Grandma, Mrs. Grandma.  Evan really enjoyed it.  He said he likes sixth grade math better than fifth grade math.

We picked up the boys from school and then Rachel left to tutor.

The boys and I went to Oak Hill.  I pitched to each boy in the batting cage.

We stopped at HEB on the way home to get some things.

For dinner we had flank steak.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

New Smoothie King

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Camp Gladiator does not meet on Wednesdays so after walking the boys to school, we stayed at home.

Later in the morning, Rachel went to Costco to get some things.

Noah ended up spending some of the afternoon at Jude's house.

I took Evan to his hitting/speed and agility practice at TRPD.  He had a good time messing around with his friends there as well as getting some good practice in.

On the way home, we stopped at the new Smoothie King they opened in Lakeway.  Evan has been waiting for it to open up and it had it's grand opening about 10 days ago.

We had ribs for dinner that Rachel got at Costco.  They were pre-made, you just had to heat them up.

The boys are getting ready for bed.

Until next time...

Another Busy, Late Tuesday

We walked the kids to school and then went to Camp Gladiator.

I was home for a little bit this morning and then left for pilates around 12:30.

I went to pilates and then tutored 3 students.

While I was gone, Morry picked up the kids at school.  Later, he dropped off Noah at Grandma and Papa's house.    Then, Morry and Evan went to baseball practice.

I picked up Noah around 7:30 from Grandma and Papa's.

Morry and Evan got home around 8pm.

Evan's eating his dinner now.

Once the kids are in bed we'll eat our dinner.

Whew!

Two Practices

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We walked the boys to school today.  There wasn't any Camp Gladiator, so Rachel and I took a long walk to keep up the exercise routine, somewhat.

We worked from home all day.  The Google Fiber guys were still outside doing work actually laying the fiber, so it would have been tough to leave.

We walked to get the boys.  As soon as we came home, Evan and I left for a hitting lesson.  Evan gets a one-on-one hitting or pitching lesson per month with the main hitting or pitching coaches.  So Evan met with the hitting instructor today.  It was a very interesting session where the coach gave Evan a variety of drills to work on at home to continue to hone his swing.

Noah went to football practice with his friend Jude.  Evan and I went to his practice when Evan finished.  Noah looked great running the ball.  They were running a drill where they'd hand off to one kid and they had to try to get past three defenders without getting their flag pulled.  The defenders, of course, were working on flag pulling.  Three times straight, Noah weaved and juked his way past all the boys.

We had pasta for dinner.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...

Still Busy

This morning we were able to sleep in some.

Morry took the kids to Smoothie King and I went for a run.

I took Noah to Cole's birthday party at 12:15.  It was at the bowling alley and Noah seemed to have a good time.

When we got home I made the matzoh balls for dinner.

At 5:00 we walked to Grandma and Papa's for Rosh Hashanah dinner.  Uncle Marvin was there too.  We had a nice dinner.

Morry and the boys are watching the Steelers game now.

Three Football Games

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We were able to sleep in this morning because football did not start until 10:30.  It was nice having a relaxed morning.

Noah's game was at 11am, followed by two football games for Evan at noon and 1.  Noah had to get there at 10:30 for warmups.  It was my first time seeing Noah play flag football in a game.  I thought he played very well today.  He had two passes thrown to him.  One he almost had, and another was knocked away by the defender.  He had a good run as well.  On defense, he covered so well that the other never passed to the guy he was covering.  He was always right there.  Noah's team had the lead briefly but ended up losing.

In Evan's first game, he had two good runs when he was on offense.  One he almost broke for a touchdown.  One kid made a great flag pull when Evan changed directions.  On defense, Evan blitzed quite a bit.  He had a great flag pull in the backfield and he jumped to knock down a pass as he was blitzing and took the pass off his forehead.  The ball shot straight in the air but he couldn't find it to intercept it.  Evan's team won.

In Evan's second game, he had a nice reception as well as a run.  The other team was quite big - they were made up of 6th graders - and Evan's team struggled.

Evan went home with Darius after the game.

We took it easy in the afternoon.

Around dinner time we picked up Evan and then went to a place called Third Base for dinner.  The service was pretty bad.  And actually, the food wasn't very good either.  We had gotten a coupon for $10 off when we did the 5K a few weeks ago and thought we'd give it a shot.

We stopped at HEB to get some shopping done on the way home.

The boys are getting ready for bed now.

Until next time...
