Day 2

Morry walked Evan to school this morning. He said Evan seemed a little tired this morning. Drop off went well though.

Today, it was just Noah and me. It's been a while since we spent the day together. Maybe this will help some of his behavior problems.

We met the Moms Club playgroup for kids Noah age at Barnes and Noble. There was storytelling at 10:30 and then Noah played at the train table.

After that we went to Newflower (called Sunflower now) and picked up a few groceries. Noah insisted I buy bean sprouts.

When we got home I folded laundry while Noah played then we had lunch together. Noah ate all of the bean sprouts I bought today.

We walked to pick up Evan. I took a few short cuts and it only took 15 minutes to get there. We we were there early and talked to some other parents and siblings. Noah's friend Ella was there, but Noah was being really shy and covering his face with his hat. When Evan's class came out Noah ran up to see Evan.

Evan was in a good mood, but tired. He sat in the stroller the whole way home.

Once we were home, he and Noah had a good time playing together for a little. Then, I had them have a quiet time for a little bit. Noah stayed in the guest bedroom and Evan was in the game room.

For dinner we had tacos. Noah is still eating his food. We all finished a while ago and cleaned up but he's still messing around eating/playing.

Soon we'll go upstairs and get them to bed.

At Home

This morning we hung out at home and then I took the boys on a 3 mile run. It was raining earlier this morning, so it was a hard run since it was humid.

I did some cleaning. Evan helped me vacuum with the hand vac .

We were supposed to go to playgroup at Laurel’s house, but she got sick. Last minute I said we would have playgroup here. It was a very small playgroup today. Only Susan and Lauren came over. We don’t have any girl toys here so Lauren wasn’t sure what to do. Once we went outside all of the kids had fun.

For dinner we went to Texas Roadhouse and stopped at Petco on the way home to get food for Lizzy.

We just gave the boys baths and put them to bed.

Refinancing

Today I took the boys to the gym and then picked up Morry at work. We had a 11:45am appointment with the title company to refinance our loan.

We brought the boys with us downtown. I packed their lunches and they ate and played at the end of the table while we signed all of the papers. They were pretty good.

We dropped Morry off at work and came back home.

I tried putting Noah down for a nap but he didn’t sleep.

We went to Sonya and Avery’s house for playgroup this afternoon. Evan and Noah had fun playing with the other kids. I enjoyed talking to the moms.

When we got home around 5:30 Morry was home.

We went to dinner at Red’s Porch. We sat outside on the upstairs porch overlooking the hills and sunset. Evan ate pretty well. He had a ton of black-eyed peas. Noah ate some of his hotdog.

We just got home. The boys are having sherbet for dessert and then we are going to put them to bed.

Back to the Bike Store

This morning we hung out at the house. Around noon we went to the library and then met Morry at the bike store to pick up our bikes. By the time we left the bike store it was about 2pm and the boys hadn’t had lunch yet. I just picked up Mc Donalds for them on the way home.

I tried putting Noah down for a nap, but he didn’t sleep.

We walked to playgroup and stayed there until about 5pm. Morry met us there with the car and then we went to the Fall Festival at Evan and Noah’s school. There were lots of activities for the kids. The boys really enjoyed riding the train and petting the baby animals.

After that we picked up Chipotle for Morry and me and then we all ate dinner at home.

We just put the boys to bed. They were both acting pretty tired. Let’s hope they sleep well tonight.

Cranky Morning, Better Afternoon

This morning we were pretty busy. Noah got up a little before Evan. We had breakfast and then took a short walk. Then, we went to the library and then to HEB. We needed to pick up a few more things for playgroup this afternoon. Evan was really cranky for some reason. We got comic books at the library and Evan wanted to bring his into HEB. He wanted to sit in the cart and read it. Evan never sits in the cart. I was just getting a basket since we only had a few things to pick up. Evan complained throughout the whole store he kept crying that he didn’t want to walk. Then he was crying because I wasn’t buying certain things.

For lunch neither kid ate very much.

I put Noah down for an early nap and he actually slept.

Noah got up around 3:15pm and playgroup started at our house at 3:30pm. It was a good turnout and we had a nice time. The kids played outside for a little bit, but it was hot and muggy so we all came back inside. There were mostly girls at the playgroup, but Evan and Noah didn’t seem to mind. Everyone played well together.

For dinner we picked up Salt Lick for us and Lisa. Lisa, is a mom from our playgroup that recently had a baby. We signed up to bring them dinner tonight. We dropped off the dinner at their house and then came home to eat our dinner. Again, Evan and Noah didn’t eat much. Evan ate a lot of the bread, but not much else.

The boys are playing with GeoTrax now, and in a little bit we’ll put them to bed.

Morry’s Birthday Eve

This morning playgroup was cancelled so I called a few people and we had a little playgroup here. Evan’s friends Cayden and Kevin came over to play. I enjoyed talking with the moms and the boys enjoyed playing together. Noah played with the big kids some and hung out with us a little.

After playgroup Evan and Noah ate a little bit more and then I put Noah down for a nap. He didn’t sleep though. I kept trying to put him back in bed, but for some reason he didn’t want to nap.

Evan brought down his Toy Story costumes. So, Evan and Noah dressed up as Woody and Buzz. Noah only kept his costume on for a few minutes. It’s a pretty hot costume.

When Morry got home we got ready to leave the house for dinner. We had made reservations at Benihana.

We had a great time at dinner. Evan and Noah really enjoyed the show and they actually ate well. Noah ate shrimp and fried rice. Evan ate his shrimp and some salad. I told them it was Morry’s birthday so they sang a song and gave him some dessert.

We got home a little while ago and put the boys to bed. They are both still awake. Hope they fall asleep soon.

Little Sleep

Last night I had a hard time sleeping. Then, the boys were up at 7 something after Lizzy started barking.

We had playgroup today at Lisa and Siena’s house. Evan and Noah had fun. The kids played outside for a little bit and then up in their play room.

When we got home Evan and Noah played outside while I got lunch ready.

Noah just wouldn’t nap. I tried a few times to put him back to bed, but he didn’t want to nap.

Around dinner time I started not feeling good. Morry picked up Wendy’s for dinner.

I’m worried I may have the virus the boys and Morry had. I hope it doesn’t last long.

Morry is reading a book to Evan and Noah while I write the blog. I hope the boys, and everyone, sleeps well tonight.

Star Peppers

This morning we went to playgroup. I enjoyed having some adult time. Evan and Noah had fun playing with new toys. Noah ate a ton of the goldfish crackers they had put out.

When we got home Evan and Noah played outside while I got lunch ready. They insisted on eating at the picnic table under their playscape. Noah didn’t eat very much, but Evan ate well. I also make smoothies for all of us.

At naptime Noah wasn’t sleeping for some reason. I was getting some stuff done downstairs and all of the sudden I heard Evan and Noah playing in the gameroom. I had to put Noah back to bed. He fought it a little, but eventually ended up napping.

When Morry got home we ordered dinner from Hula Hut through Eat Out In. While we were waiting for the food to be delivered we took the boys out front. Evan rode his bike twice around the block and rode his scooter a little too. Noah rode his tricycle just a little bit. He doesn’t like to put his feet on the pedals and it makes it very hard to push him.

Dinner was good. We made sports mac and cheese for the boys and I cut up a bell pepper for them. I thought I’d try using a cookie cutter on the bell pepper and worked. So the boys had star peppers.

We gave the boys baths and just put them to bed.

Walk to Playgroup

Playgroup this morning was at a house very close to us. Since I’m not supposed to lift the boys I thought we’d walk rather than drive. Evan did great, but Noah threw a fit in the middle of the street because he didn’t want to hold my hand. I had to quickly carry him across the street.

Evan and Noah were well behaved at playgroup, but I called Grandma/Lynn to meet us to help me walk the boys back home.

On the walk home there was a woman gardening with her dog outside. It was a cute Irish Setter. The boys enjoyed petting the friendly dog.

When we got home we all went to HEB.

We gave the boys lunch and then put Noah down for a nap and Evan with a video in his room.

During naps Grandma and I got dinner ready. We had the fix and freeze sticky ribs and mashed potatoes. It was all good.

After dinner we took a walk. Evan and Noah walked some of the way.

The boys had showers and now they are in bed.
