Strawberries

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Rachel and I have been talking about taking the boys to go strawberry picking. There's a farm, called Sweetberry Farms, that allows you to do this in Marble Falls - about an hour drive. We got up around 8:30 to check the weather. It had been threatening to rain so we didn't want to drive all the way out there if it was raining. Luckily the chance of precipitation was small.

We got out of the house around 10am and got there about 11. You have to pay for the box to collect the strawberries in and it's $2.95/lb for the strawberries. We showed the boys how to pick them. The first thing Noah did was try to pick the strawberry by squeezing it and yanking. It just squished in his hand. Then Evan and Noah realized that it was better to eat them than put them in the box. Noah didn't pick much, he just ate the ones we were putting in the box. Evan was helping pick and ate about every third strawberry. Noah was a total mess. I honestly don't know how he got strawberry juice all over his shirt and face.

After picking, we went over to see the horses and donkeys they had. The boys gave them grass to eat. They enjoyed themselves.

We then paid for the strawberries and got strawberry ice cream.

Since we were relatively close to Llano, we decided to drive the rest of the way to go to Coopers Old Time BBQ. This place has the best barbeque I've ever had. So it was well worth the extra time. Grandma had not been there but she enjoyed it. The boys, enjoyed it as well. They somehow managed to get even messier.

We drove home from Llano and put Noah down for a nap. Evan went in his room. Shortly after we got back, Papa arrived from Dallas.

Evan didn't stay in his room long and ended up coming down and spending time with me.

For dinner, Grandma and Papa took the boys to Waterloo Ice House. Rachel and I went to the Alamo Drafthouse to see "Date Night". It was really good. I knew it was going to be really good right from the first line of the movie. It opened up with Steve Carell and Tina Fey in bed sleeping and their little boy comes in the room and says "I want breakfast". I could definitely relate.

Apparently the boys didn't eat much for dinner but had a great time playing on the playground after dinner. Noah, who normally is timid, eventually started going down the slide by himself after working with Grandma and Papa.

Both boys are in bed now and sleeping. Until next time.
