Dinosaurs

Hello everyone, this is Morry again. Rachel asked me to post today. I went through all the posts and counted up all the times I was referenced and the grand total is 4. I really am a part of the family. I'm not quite sure how I get left out of the blog.

So this morning, Grandma/Lynn/Mom came over. She and Papa/Lenny/Dad are staying with us tonight. They have been in Austin all week long, but they were staying at the Hilton for a conference. The conference ended this morning. But Papa had one last meeting this morning and then he went golfing at Grey Rock Country Club which is right near our house.

We had heard about this dinosaur exhibit at the Zilker Botanical Gardens so we decided to go there today. First, we stoppped at HEB and bought tickets. Then we went to lunch at Shady Grove. Evan was acting very attached to me and insisted on sitting on my lap through the entire lunch. We put Noah in a high chair and fed him solid food at the table. That was the first time we gave him solid food out of the house. He ate it all up. I guess that's why he's in the 75th to 90th percentile for weight. Rachel tried to give him some of her lemonade by letting him suck from the straw. For some reason, he didn't realize he was supposed to suck on the straw. He just chewed on it.

After lunch, it was on to the Dinosaur exhibit. We found great parking and walked into the Gardens. I had never been to there but it was really nice. It was very shaded and really nice trees and flowers. We followed the signs to the dino exhibit. Evan insisted on handing the tickets to the lady collecting the tickets. Right away he saw a dinosaur among the trees and ran over to look at it. He told us the dinosaur looked happy. Then he ran to the next set of dinosaurs. After that he wanted to be held. After awhile I ended up carrying him. He's getting pretty heavy. I think overall he enjoyed the dinosaurs but he was very tired. One of the dinosaurs had eggs. He really was fascinated by the eggs. The last dinosaur we saw was a relative of the T-Rex. Again he said the dinosaur looked happy. This woman heard Evan and started to laugh.

Then it was back home for naps. I put on college football and watched Texas Tech crush Kansas State. When that game was out-of-hand I put on the Alabama-Kentucky game. It was around then that Evan woke up from his nap so he came down and sat down on my lap while I was watching the game. Grandma asked Evan who was playing. Evan told her that Roethlisberger was playing.

When Papa got home, we went to dinner at Segovia. It's a Spanish Tapas restaurant. It's pretty good. Evan asked for bread so they brought us a lot of bread. Evan ate almost all of it.

When we got home we gave the boys baths. Evan loves having Noah in the bath with him. At one point though, Evan slipped and fell forward and hit Noah's head with his head. Noah started to cry. Evan looked like he was going to cry - but not because he was hurt. I think he was really upset that he hurt Noah. Noah was ok though. At the end of every bath, Rachel brushes Evan's teeth. Evan insists on brushing his own teeth. So Evan was standing in the bath and brushing his own teeth and Rachel said "Get the back". Evan pulled the toothbrush out of his mouth and started to brush his back with the toothbrush.

So that was our day today. The boys are in bed. Rachel and I are about to take advantage of her parents being with us so we're going to go see Eagle Eye. Tomorrow night is the Steelers game. Evan seems to enjoy watching the game with me. So we'll see how that goes.

Until next time...
