Thank You Mike Gordon

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

As Rachel wrote yesterday, we had a party for everyone who helped us in the past year while Rachel was battling and recovering from cancer. It was a great party and it was so nice for so many people to make it to the party. Most people were local, but we had some people come in from Houston and Dallas, and other parts of Texas. But one person made the trek from Pittsburgh - for all over 20 hours - just to help us celebrate - Mike Gordon. It was so nice of him to come in just for the party. We loved having him stay with us and loved seeing him. We look forward to having the entire Gordon clan make it down here some time.

Mike came in, for his first trip to Austin, at 11am yesterday. I gave him a very quick tour of Austin thru downtown, over to campus, to Mt. Bonnell and down Loop 360. We had lunch at Rudy's. Mike also helped us set up for the party and clean up as well. This morning, his flight was at 6:50am. I thought he should try out Kerbey Lane Cafe so we had some breakfast there at around 4:45am. It was a really nice time.

I came home and went back to bed. I slept until around 10:30am. Rachel and Grandma made cranberry-apple crisp. The boys had some breakfast and had some of the crisp.

The Steelers game came on at noon. Grandma, Papa, and Bubbe left during the 2nd quarter, I think. The boys watched more of the game with me.

After the game I did a little work while Evan watched Empire Strikes Back for the second time today (He later watched it a 3rd time). That was a gift from Mike for the boys. Evan fell asleep on the ottoman. Noah had taken a nap upstairs.

For dinner we had leftover pizza from Home Slice. Home Slice catered our event which was nice. After dinner, we had to return some of Home Slice's stuff that they let us borrow so we drove down and returned it.

The boys are now in bed, both of them in Evan's room. Due to all the people staying with us last night, the boys stayed in Evan's room last night and they loved it. Evan started out sleeping on the top bunk, but he decided he wanted to sleep with Noah and the two boys slept next to each other on the bottom bunk all night. They said they wanted to do it again tonight. They weren't very well behaved last night during this as they were talking a lot. We told them that we could try one more time but if they talk to much, we're going to put Noah back in Evan's room. Uh oh, Noah just turned off the monitor. I guess we're going to have to go see what's going on.

Until next time...
