Practice

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning the boys set their alarms again.  Noah was a bit cranky but all-in-all it was a fairly easy morning.  We drove to school as it was only 48 degrees.

In the afternoon, we walked to get the boys.  By that time it got warm.  It appears the ice cream truck is no more.  Some fuddy duddy (I have other choice terms for the person) decided to complain that the ice cream truck did not have the proper permits to be stopped where they were and selling food and called the city.  Seriously, do people not have anything better to do with their time than ruin some stuff for kids?  So we just brought the normal popsicles today.

Noah had practice today.  We worked on some drills.  Then I ran two exercises where the winner got a prize.  They had to field the ball and throw and hit a bucket.  They got one point for fielding the ball, one point for hitting the bucket if the ball hit the ground first and 3 points for hitting the bucket in the air.  Then we had the boys race to first base.  I want to teach them that they will run faster running through the bag.  This is one of the biggest issues I see when kids move up from tee ball to coach pitch.  They still just want to run and stop on first base.  It's amazing how many times a kid will be out because they slowed down too soon.  It makes a huge difference.  Especially since at this point the bases are fairly close together so it doesn't give the fielder as much time to make the out.  But if the kid slows down, they are giving the advantage back to the fielder.

We stopped at Wendy's on the way home.

The boys are in bed and asleep now.

Until next time...
