The Third Day

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

I'll probably be writing the blog for the next few days. Rachel will be in Dallas so it will just be the boys and me.

Today was the third day since Rachel's chemo. Some people had told us that the third day was always the worst day. Up until now, Rachel's been a bit achy and a bit nauseous but nothing debilitating. Unfortunately, the people who had warned us seem to be correct. (although I guess we have been unable to compare to the 4th and 5th days yet) Rachel seemed more tired and just more lethargic in general today. She was able to make it downstairs and had lunch and dinner with us, but I think it's just been a tough day on her.

The day started out with our neighbor's dog barking and waking Evan up. It was about 7:10 but really it was 6:10 because we hadn't changed our clocks yet. I got him to go back to bed for about 30 minutes. He then came in and wanted breakfast. I took him downstairs and got him breakfast and put the Polar Express on for him. After that he came in the room 3 more times. Each time I was able to either pretend to sleep so he left or was able to get him to go back into the game room. Around 9am, Grandma got him and brought him downstairs.

When Rachel and I came downstairs, a woman, Beth from my work came over with her husband, Gary. Gary is going to be taking care of the boys this week. We thought it'd be good for them to get to know the boys some. We also gave them a lot of our baby stuff, like the infant seats and the swing. Their son is going to have a baby in January. We were happy to get rid of some of that stuff. Gary seems very excited to take care of the boys. He is getting books ready to bring over and read to them. He's bringing wiffle balls for Evan to hit too.

After they left, Rachel said she thought she could go to lunch. We got in the car and drove about 2 miles before Rachel said she needed to go home. On the way home, Evan pinched his hand in his Buzz Lightyear doll and cried for a while.

For lunch everyone had their own stuff. Papa went out and got Wendy's for me and got Which Wich for himself.

During naps, I went over to Sam's Club and got a great deal on a 32" HDTV. I was very pleased with myself. We wanted to get it for our bedroom. With Rachel spending a lot of time there, it seemed a good idea to spend some money on that and make Rachel more comfortable.

For dinner we had Little Caesar's.

We gave the boys baths and now they are in bed. They aren't quiet but seem a *bit* more subdued than some other nights. Let's hope I didn't jinx anything by typing that.

Until next time...
