Eight wins, No Losses

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning I got up around 8am.  Evan was already up.  I had a bit of work I wanted to do and I promised the boys we'd go see The Croods.  I let Noah sleep in.  He came downstairs around 9:30.

We decided to go see the movie at the Alamo Drafthouse.  They have a bottomless bowl of popcorn there so that's what we got.  It ended up being much cheaper than a traditional movie place.  The movie was pretty good.  It wasn't as clever as Wreck-It Ralph.  It was much more of an old-style cartoon with lots of people getting rolled over by boulders or falling down.  There were some pretty funny parts.

When we got home, the boys went upstairs and played with Legos.

I had a business meeting in the afternoon.

Evan had a game this afternoon.  His team won again.  Evan had a pretty good game.  He was crushing the ball today, although he ended up just 1 for 3 in batting.  In his first at-bat he smoked a ball between short and third which rolled all the way to the fence.  Evan ended up with a triple.  You could actually hear people say "Whoa!" when he hit it because it was hit so hard.  In his second at-bat, he turned on the first pitch for probably the hardest hit ball I've ever seen him hit but it went foul.  It was a line drive that would have landed about 10 feet from the fence had it gone straight.  Unfortunately, that got him all amped up.  I think he realized how far it went and wanted to do it again.  He fouled off the next pitch again and then swung hard on the third pitch but missed.  In his third at-bat he hit another hard shot, this time to second.  It was right at the second baseman.  It was hit so hard that he had no chance to beat it out.  He also caught a high pop-up when he was playing third and he made a nice catch when it looked like a kid was going to try to take an extra base.

So our teams ended up with eight wins and no losses for the weekend.  Evan's team won twice, Noah's team won once, the Pirates swept the Reds in three games and the Penguins won their two games.  Overall it was a good weekend.

When we got home, Rachel was here.  The boys were excited to see her.

The boys are in bed now but not sleeping.

Until next time...
