Game Followed By A Bris

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

We got home very late from a party with the parents and kids from Evan's baseball team.  Because of that the boys slept in this morning.  Evan got up after 9am.

We stayed in in the morning taking it easy.  At 1:10, Evan and I left for Evan's game.  We went through warm-ups and the game started.  Evan led off the top of the first and crushed the first pitch he saw to the fence for a triple.  He followed that up with an inside-the-park home run to the fence in the 2nd inning and a single in the third inning.  He also made a nice play playing shortstop.  I was coaching first base rather than pitching today and after Evan's single, he was standing on first.  He looked at me and just said "All I need is a double".  In baseball there is something called a cycle.  If you hit a single, double, triple and home run in a game you hit for the cycle.  Evan had that in his head.  Unfortunately, his team crushed the other team and the mercy rule came into effect so he didn't get a chance to hit for the cycle.

After the game we drove to Mandy's parent's house.  Aaron and Mandy had their second child last week and the Bris was today.  Their baby's name is Nathan Elijah.  As a Jewish male I had the job of holding the baby during the Bris.  At first, Noah was sitting with me, but we decided it was best he didn't really watch.  He and Evan played with Aaron and Mandy's 20 month old, Jeremy.  Noah, especially, was very good with Jeremy.  Jeremy just followed the big boys around everywhere.  It was very cute.

We came home and had a small dinner.  The boys are in their rooms now.

Until next time...
