Noah the Kindergartener

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

This morning was routine as I dropped Evan off at school.  Just before we left to go to school, Noah came downstairs though.  I think he was excited because to do was "Kindergarten Round Up".  That's where you take your child into the elementary school and get them registered for Kindergarten and take a tour of the school.

When we got there, we stood in line to get Noah all registered.  Cole and his mom were right in front of us so Cole and Noah stuck together.  The PTA was giving out free t-shirts to the incoming students.  We knew what they showed us on the tour, but I think it was fun for Noah to see everything.  We went into one of the Kindergarten classrooms.  In there was a boy that Noah plays with at Evan's baseball games.  He's the younger brother of one of Evan's teammates.  He was really excited to see Noah and came running up to him.  He and Noah talked for a while.  It was really cute.

Following Kindergarten Roundup, Noah went to Cole's house.

Rachel went to tutor at 4pm.  Blanca came over to babysit.

At 5:40, we left for Evan's last regular season baseball game.  He seemed very excited to play today.  When we got there, we saw that one of the boys on Evan's team who had broken his finger was there with his uniform on - looking like he was going to play.  Evan was so excited that he ran over and started talking to him.  I talked to the boy's father and Evan and the boy walked over to the fields to warm up.  Just as the game was about to start, I looked at my phone.  I saw a text from Rachel which reminded me that we were supposed to bring snacks for after the game.  Rachel had gotten them ready but I had left them at home.  I had to drive home to get them.  I had never missed an inning of Evan's game before but I missed the first two innings.

When I came back Evan was playing well.  He spent most of the game playing third base today.  I think he really enjoyed it.  I saw him get two solid singles to centerfield.  It was nice seeing him hit up the middle actually after pulling the ball exclusively the last few games.  Evan has gotten into sliding hard as well.  After the second single that I saw, the next boy grounded to short.  Evan slid really hard into the bag.  The coaches just love seeing him do that.  Evan's team won the game.  They finished in fourth place.  They will be playing the same team on Saturday at 8:30 to start off the playoffs.

We came home and I put the boys to bed.  Both boys fell asleep very quickly.

Until next time...
