T-shirt Contest

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Several weeks ago, the boys teamed up in creating a design for their elementary school t-shirt as part of a contest.  On Friday, Rachel got a call from the school telling us that Evan and Noah's design was the winner.  Rachel asked if we could tell the boys and the lady said that the boys would know when we picked them up.  But they didn't know when we got them and weren't sure what we were talking about so we felt we should tell them.  To be sure, we went to the office and confirmed that the boys were the winners and that we could tell them.  The lady actually said "THE" winners and stressed it.  They were to be honored at the assembly this morning and we were welcome to come to watch it.

So we walked to school today without Lizzy and watched through the assembly.  They announced several honorable mentions and then called up the third place kids.  And then they announced the second place winner and it was Evan and Noah.  We were a bit surprised since we were told they had won.    The boys handled it very very well and didn't seem to be upset.  I think Rachel and I were more upset.  And to be honest, the principal indicated they may take concepts from the top three designs.  They really liked the theme that Evan and Noah came up with which was "Clayton Rocks".  Evan and Noah came up with it all on their own.   At the end of the day, they were 2nd place in a school of 1000 where a huge percentage of kids submitted designs.  So second place is still very good and we are very proud of them.  In fact when we asked Evan if he was ok, he looked at us like we were crazy for asking and said "second place is pretty good."

I went to Aaron's and had a Your Trainer meeting for the late morning and early afternoon.

When I got home, we walked to get the boys.  When we got home, Rachel and the boys took Lizzy to the vet for her annual checkup.  She has lots of "old lady lumps" and we wanted to get them checked out.  The vet said Lizzy appears to be in good health and had great mobility for a 12-year-old dog.  She felt that most of the lumps were benign.  She had a swollen lymph gland that Deborah had noticed so they took a biopsy of that and we should know in a couple days.  They would like to see Lizzy for a "mapping" where they will map all of her lumps and document the sizes so we can accurately monitor them.  If they have to do any biopsies they will.  Poor pooch.  The good news is really that from the basic checkup she is a very healthy dog.

The boys played with Christian and Connor when they got home.

We had tacos for dinner.

The boys are about to get ready for bed.

Until next time...
