Austin Parks and Class Assignments

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Last year before school started I took a day away from work and we went to Inner Space Caverns and saw the caves.  This year we decided to take the boys to Austin Parks which is a big place that has go karts, bumper boats, miniature golf, laser tag, batting cages and more.  Evan had heard about go karts and wanted to give it a try.

We got the unlimited activity pass because when we added up getting the pizza buffet and doing two activities, it was more money than getting unlimited.  We started off by taking the boys on the go karts.  Rachel and I each drove and one boy rode with each of us.  They thought that was super cool.  Then we went on the bumper boats and we had fun.  We got there shortly after it opened so no one was there and we didn't have to wait for anything.  Then we did miniature golf.  We had lunch at the buffet and then went back to the go karts.  I drove Noah around and Evan wanted to go on the slower track where they let kids his age drive the car.  At first Evan started off tentative.  He was driving slowly.  And then something kicked in and he start driving fast and aggressive.  He got very competitive.  He was squeezing in between the inside and the cars he was passing.  He got off and had the biggest smile.  He wanted to do it again.  He was even more aggressive and more competitive the second time.

We came home and relaxed a bit.  Evan went down to Nathan's.

Then we walked to school.  At 5pm they tape the class list to the door.  We got there a bit after 5.  They have some vendors out selling sno-cones and food as well as school t-shirts benefiting the PTA.  We found out Noah got the same teacher that Evan had for first grade.  That is who we wanted.  We don't know anything about the teacher that Evan got.  The thing that upset Evan is that not one of his buddies is in his class with him.  Honestly, I'm not sure how that's possible to not have just one.  Statistically, it must be less a 1% chance of happening.  He'll make new friends and it will be fine.

We came home and had dinner.

Then we had to run out to the baseball fields.  I needed to return the equipment from last season.

From there we went and got sno-cones.  We promised the boys to get it later because the line at the school was super long.

The boys are in bed now.

Until next time...
