Summer 2023

Our summer is just about over.

We had a busy summer with baseball.  We took some trips with the baseball team including Corpus Christi and Omaha.

We had two foster puppies in the house, Panama Jack and Coppertone.  We all fell in love with Coppertone since we had him for a little bit longer.

Evan committed to play baseball at Allegheny College.

Noah got his braces off.

We took a fun family trip to Boston and Bar Harbor.

The summer went by very quickly.

This week we were doing things to get ready for the school year.

The boys (and Chewie) got hair cuts.

Evan took his senior pictures for the yearbook.

Noah got his driving permit

On Monday the boy start school.

Here are some pictures from the summer.

Since February 7

I see the last time I wrote a blog post was February 7.

I'll try to remember everything that has happened since then.

Both boys had birthdays.  Evan is now 17, and Noah is 15!

Noah had a great track season.  He learned how to pole vault and made it to the district meet.

Evan is doing very well in baseball. He's had some great hits including a home run and a left-handed hit.

Evan has been playing ultimate frisbee and was voted player of the week.  Noah joined the team at one game when they didn't have enough players, and he played well.

Noah ran the Cap10K.

We've had two Golden Retriever stashes - Teddy and Echo. Both were very cute.

Rachel, Quin, and Lennon came to visit.

We had a Passover seder at Grandma and Papa's house and celebrated Easter with the Mantis.

I gave a presentation on search engine optimization for our neighborhood networking group.

Morry and I went out to dinner at Aba.  He made the reservations months ago - probably around the time of the last blog post.

Here are some videos and pictures from the last few months.

Ice Storm

Last week we had an ice storm and a lot of the city was shut down.  The kids didn't have school from Tuesday - Friday.

The ice accumulation made trees break and cause a lot of damage.  Many people were out of electricity for days.

We were lucky and didn't lose power.

Like most of the neighborhood, we lost a lot of very big branches on our trees.

Here are some pictures from last week.

Noah's Half Marathon, Parker, West Palm Beach

On January 22, Noah ran his first half marathon.  We are so proud of him. He got a great time too - under 2 hours! His official chip time was 01:56:53 .  He met his school group at the start and ran with his friend, Jackson the whole time.

We have a new foster dog, Parker.  He's sweet and cuddly.  He's black, but looks just like a golden retriever.  He will hopefully be getting adopted in a few days.

Also, we all went to the RBI fundraiser event.  Morry and I were invited by the Mantis and the boys volunteered.

Over the weekend Grandma/Mom and I went to West Palm Beach to visit Maureen and Doug.  We had a very nice time.

Yesterday, Austin started getting a cold, winter storm.  We are lucky we were able to get home.   Today and tomorrow schools are canceled.

I taught my classes over Zoom.

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

Winter Break + Grandma's Birthday Party

Winter break is just about over for all of us.  I went back to school last Wednesday, and the boys go back tomorrow.

We had a nice, long break.

For Mom/Grandma's 70th birthday, we had a party at our house.  As a surprise, Michael's family came in town, and we were able to spend a few days together.

For New Year's Eve Morry and I went out with Susie and Chad and the boys each had a friend over to the house.  We ordered pizza for them, and they made cupcakes.

Over break, Emory also went to his new home.

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.
