Full Day of Sports

Hello everyone, this is Morry.

Evan seemed to be playing sports all weekend.  It culminated with a long day of two baseball games and a football game today.

Yesterday, he had a practice at the facility.  We came home for a little bit before I drove him to play basketball at his friend's house.  He and another boy went over to Henry's house to play basketball and record themselves shooting trick shots.

After that, we did some shopping at HEB and picked up dinner there.

This morning, Evan and I left the house just before 7am.  We stopped at Donut Taco Palace on the way to the fields.  Evan had a game scheduled for 9am and another one at 12:30.

In the first game, Evan threw out a runner trying to steal third and he picked off a runner who had taken a large lead off of third.  He also got the hit that knocked in run to put us down by one run and stole second which led to the runner on third tying the game.  He looked good out there.

In the second game, another catcher started as Evan had caught 5 innings.  They wanted to give him a break.  But when things got tougher, they put Evan in for the final 2 innings. In that time, Evan threw out a runner trying to steal second and again threw to a runner who had drifted off third.  In that case, the runner broke for home and they got him in a rundown tagging him out.  In his only at-bat, he crushed a ball to left that the left fielder caught on a dead sprint towards the foul line.  It was a great hit and a great catch.

We immediately drove to the football fields.  Evan warmed up some and then the game started.  He again alternated series at quarterback.  He looked good and he threw one touchdown.  His team won. Grandma, Papa and Rachel came to see him play.  Noah was at Sunday School.

Rachel, Grandma and Papa immediately left to go see Noah in a play at Sunday School.  Evan and I did not get there in time to see it.  We were told he was very good.

We went to Deckhand for dinner after Sunday School.

We're home now and the boys are cleaning up.

Until next time...
